I don’t understand these offensive personnel sets Steichen is putting on the field. You gotta get Downs on the field.

I think the big WR set is for the running game. But Downs gets open with ease.

Agreed. The only problem is Taylor averaged less tha 4 YPC with the least threatening offensive playmakers on the field.

Yeah, it just seems hard to believe that Darnold will learn read progression at this stage of his career. It is clearly a possibility — but it seems like he’s just not good at it and never will be.

How many QBs are asked to go through progressions? Cousins is really good at it. Maybe a handful more?

Everyone else is only asked to read split field or man indicators then throw it. At most, if it’s not there, check down.

KOC should probably simplify because it’s unlikely Sam will just decide “hey I should probably trying to squeeze in passes when it’s not there.”

He has a good arm, love that he’s always looking downfield, but sometimes you just gotta trust you’ll get that look again but with a better window. Survive for another play.

Were people panicking? Guy was a raw-ish prospect, who is behind 2 pretty good starters.

He was getting compared to Jared Verse by impatient Viking fans.

And that would be bad? Verse is arguably the defensive rookie of the year right now.

ETA: I think I may have misunderstood. I think you were suggesting people were saying they should have taken Verse instead...which is reasonable in my opinion, but that was the case at the time.

Only time will tell.

Vikings fans worried Turner was a bust because not playing many snaps.

Flores defense is complicated and understandable that he prefers veteran players out there most of the time.

Turner didn't do very well in a few snaps as an off ball LB which isn't really what they drafted him for but Cashman is out and the LBers need to be somewhat interchangeable.

I still think that last Flacco pick (that got reversed due to interference) was tipped!

They never showed the replay.

And it was a 5 point swing in their defensive points after the kicked the ensuing field goal.
