Snowmageddon 2022 (5 Viewers)

-16 actual and -45 wind chill this morning in eastern Nebraska. The wind has been crazy all day. Working from home today and I don't plan to leave the house.
Same in NW Iowa, not snowing, but it looks like a blizzard just with the wind blowing the falling snow. Surprised how many idiots were out today that didn't have to be. I work at an Auto dealership and the number of little old ladies that came in to have tires and batteries check was exhausting. There is no way I would have left the house today if I didn't have to go to work.

-3 right now in Southern Missouri and supposed to get down to -7.

I can't remember the last time it got this cold around here, I think it has been a decade or more.

It snowed for a few hours and wind blew hard. I worked from home, but plan to go in tomorrow.

Right now it's 52 in northern MD with some more rain on the way. It's supposed to drop 45 degrees in the next 24 hours, and not hit 32 again until Tuesday.

Snow/ice/freezing rain here in the Shenandoah Valley. In other words, it's gross outside.
Be safe out there. Skyline Drive looked dicey af the last couple of days.
There's not gonna be any "out there" for me, GB

I got COVID, which nixed my Christmas travel plans. We've already hit our high temp for today - 34 degrees at 12:01 a.m. - and the bottom is getting set to fall out. I'll do my weekly grocery shopping Monday and that's probably the next time I'll leave Casa Uruk.

How's it going with you? I think I heard you'll have high temps in the 40s today?

71 today, but it won’t last past 1 pm. Highs in the 40s for a couple of days with lows under or around freezing. Feel better. COVID sucks.

It was 54 when I woke up, currently 46.

Forecasted temps:
  • Noon 44 degrees
  • 3pm 31 degrees
  • 6pm 23 degrees
  • 9pm 16 degrees
  • Midnight 13 degrees
will be around 11-12 degrees when I get up tomorrow

Here in Houston, it was 17F, climbed to 18 by eight o'clock. Now it's 14F and light snow is possible. It should be around 60 here. Awesome!

We're all a little twitchy after the small power issue we had in 2021. But there's no real snow this time, so we should be good.

At least we didn't make any football playoffs. We don't have to figure out who's playing in Fimbulwinter.

Icemaggedon in the Seattle area! A warmer plane of air slid in between freezing layers so we are getting about 6 hours of freezing rain until later this afternoon.

Good timing with the holiday break, most peeps at home already. This happened years ago and it was like Mad Max Fury Roads on the freeways with cars abandoned and people just walking down the interstate.

Did completely close the airport at the moment though so can’t imagine the 5th level of hell that must be right now.

Same here (eastern SD). This kind of weather is very pretty as long as you're sitting comfortably in your warm house. No idea why anybody would voluntarily go out in it.

The only reason I am up to 554 steps so far today is because I was out after midnight.

14 degrees with -2 degree wind chill in north Atlanta - we don’t do this cold weather crap.

Spent an hour shoveling ... -9 and about -35 wind chill. I was bundled up and mostly kept the wind at my back, so it wasn't that bad, except for some finger tips. Should have used mittens instead of gloves.

9 degrees with -15 degree WCF in Central MI, about 10 inches of snow on the ground. 50 MPH wind gusts. Cleared the driveway and it was like being in a deep freezer for an hour. Good times. Gotta love lake effect snow and winter weather here in the mitten.

Just had an 80mph wind gust not far from here and they are calling for 3-4ft of snow through the weekend. Should make for some interesting snow drifts.

Where? Oh buffalo
We've hit 74 around us - Fairport Harbor. Peak gusts haven't hit yet either - that's supposed to be over the next 6 hours or so.

Yeah a little concerning that we are hitting those numbers already and supposedly the worst is yet to come.

We live on a big hill and had three cars abandoned right in front of our house by around 10 this morning. We’re at an T intersection and people tried to turn from the flatter street into the hill. Dummies. Two groups are back out there now that the weather is warming, trying to rescue them.
