So is anyone starting Kerry Collins Week 1? (1 Viewer)

Texans were God awful in pass D last year....sure they added Watts; upgraded CB and changed systems but are they that much better? Colts OL is solid and Collins has great weapons with Addai; Wayne; Garcon; Clark; Tamme etc.... is 250 yards 2 TDs unrealistic week1?

Thoughts?

You cant just throw a new QB on a team and imediately expect the passing game to look good. I do expect the Colts to be playing from behind which could mean a lot of yards. It could also mean turnovers for Collins. Houston should be able to shorten the clock in the game by running the ball. Collins is going to struggle hurrying the offense. I prefer other options.

I'm starting him not cause I want to but because I have to. Peyton owner in a 2QB league - nothing on the waiver wire except Tavarris, Alex Smith, Dalton.

Am I the only one in Fantasy Land that thinks Kerry Collins could turn in a very decent season this year?

I don't think he's a top-10 QB all of the sudden but he's on a decent enough team with many weapons to make him look very good. Call me crazy but with the right match-up, I think he's good for 300 yards and 3tds. And while he'll throw a couple INTs each game, I suspect with the Colts defense, this guy will be throwing 75% of the time as they will be behind or trying to keep up with opposing offenses. In fantasy land, I'll take that every time.

I'm taking a flier on him this weekend against a very suspect Houston defense. I'm guessing this game will be very high scoring. Each year, dating back to 2003, when these two team met, they were good for well over or close to a combined 50 points. I realize that this was done with Peyton, but I see no reason why Kerry Collins can't lead this very talented offense to a bunch of scores over the Texans defense.
