Some of you guys are no fun. (1 Viewer)

This reminds me of the week that I had the B and N keys flipped in my mind and got banned for my posting in the Bigger Thoughts, Bigger Ideas thread. It took me about a month of apologies to get back here.

I'm picturing Em trying to convince random black people to take a pic with him and almost getting his ### beat last night.

Pretty sure there was a Seinfeld episode about this.

"Hey dude, I am on a scavenger hunt and I need a picture of me with a black person in a bar...OK, well then, how much do want to be paid to pose with me?"

We are gonna get a pic of Eminence and his black friends? Why not a video for youtube? Anyone can photoshop. Video or it didn't happen.

Jesus guys, I'm going to post a picture of me and my black friends tonight to prove I'm not racist.

Is it tomorrow yet? And it can't be just a picture of you in front of the tv with the Baltimore Ravens playing in the background.

I feel like we need to make a distinction here between intentionally being a racist and merely believing racist ideals due to being grossly misinformed and generally not being that bright.

I still wonder why threatening suicide and frivolous lawsuits is less of a transgression than ill-considered views.

I'm sort of surprised by the framing of the debate, and surprised by the level of Em's self-awareness. It's very surprising that death and money are now equivalent to some dumb views people hold.

Dude you rarely make a post that I feel like I can understand what you're trying to say. What are you trying to say here?

I'm saying that people getting wrapped up in Em's racism is aside from the real issue, which is that he threatened to kill himself and threatened the people that run the board with a lawsuit.

As for the bolded, catch up, then. I'm not worried if you can understand me. I'm pretty damn clear.

Here, let me help. This little #### threatened to kill himself and sue the people on the board, claimed bullying, and does whatever he can to get attention. He sucks. Dig?

Oh and your supposed to hold up today's newspaper. This could do been taken before you became a raceist.

Obviously a corporate "bottom line" type decision. Banning someone for extreme views costs nothing. On the other hand if someone jumps off a 10 story building and leaves a note behind saying "Cyber-bullying on FootballGuys made me do it!" that could lead to potential litigation with the estate of the deceased. Similarly, even a frivolous lawsuit costs money to defend.

Yeah, I'm just wondering why the posters on the board sort of hold him more responsible for nativist/racist views than the other stuff, which seems much more odious. People can grow out of racism through experience and surroundings. Eventually, that stuff might not even matter.

But then the other stuff. The deep, internal stuff of hijacking people's emotions with suicide claims and the potential liability therefrom just strikes me as such a moral wrong. I think this kid's moral compass is seriously ####ed up. That's all I'm going to say. People can now have fun in this thread again.
