And that is on Tim? I post a pretty fair amount people seem very capable of not responding to me. I won thread kills a couple of different years as I recall.

If you started getting rid of people, this place would get boring and would die out. MC GAS Money started some classic summer threads this year. Plus everybody rags on Eminence, but he also comes up with classic one liners and insights.

I've kind of taken a shine to Em.

their posting styles share some similarities but there are huge differences as well. not to mention, FC is a NYC guy and LHUCKS was always West Coast.

Tim doesn't start as many threads as he used to, but it wasn't too long ago when I might have been willing to chip in a bit to segregate him to a single FFA thread and stop starting 10 new threads a day. He's gotten better, but it's still a pretty impressive timtangent that got kicked off in this thread.

I never get why Tim and others feel the need to troll users of this forum constantly. It is a much bigger problem than people calling them out for it.

my theory is and was that even lhucks got tired of being lhucks but he boxed himself into a corner with his screen name and couldn't post a word without people posting recipes and demanding that nobody quote him. he was always conscious of his image and for a long time he claimed that it was all shtick and he was just playing into it, but eventually blowing himself up and creating a new persona was his only option. maybe a persona that is interested in the things that a guy like lhucks would probably become interested in as he grew up, and lived in a place where lhucks has probably traveled quite a bit, but still posts remarkably similar threads in the shark pool, and has noticeable posting similarities, and so on. and if i were him i'd deny it too so there's nothing to be learned from that except how vehemently he denies it in one thread while basically acknowledging it and going along with it in another.if he's not lhucks, so be it. if he is, so be it. no harm no foul as far as i'm concerned, if you want to reinvent yourself go for it. but eventually i'd like to see him admit it because we've all known each other for 15 years and there's no reason anyone should have to pretend to be someone they're not when they're around old friends. it seems like a shame to me.

FC joined the boards in 2008. LHUCKS was last active in December 2012.

LHUCKS remains the only poster I ever put on my ignore list. I have no reason to protect his identity if he was here, and I'd wager with 99.99% certainty these two guys have nothing to do with one another.

That's consistent with my theory. He'd be around 30, 32 at that point? That's about the age where truck went from troll to consistently funny, give or take. Time to get an alias.

I would like to hire tim as a personal assistant. I don't have time to take a dump during the day. I feel compelled to make two points here:

1. Aaron is correct that in the past I tended to start threads that covered subjects other people were already discussing. It was not with narcissistic intent; I just didn't read the forum carefully enough, didn't use the search function, and always worried that an interesting subtopic would be lost in a larger thread. I have tried to correct that. I am heavily involved in a lot of threads here, but most of them I didn't start. Even so, I come to this forum because I enjoy good discussion and debate. If there's nothing going on that particularly strikes my interest, then I'll probably try to kickstart something. That's what I do; sorry if it annoys some people.

2. I don't troll. At least, as best as I understand the meaning of the term. There are times when I joke around, and I make that pretty obvious, and if somebody is really attacking me I might respond by making fun of them a little. But when it comes to most discussions, especially serious political discussions, my views are heartfelt. I make the exact same arguments with my friends and family. I think that because some of my views are not especially popular (immigration for instance) it looks as if I'm goading a bunch of people into reacting just to me, and that's not too different from trolling. But in fact it IS different because in those cases I mean it. I would love to have more allies on my side if I could.
