Thanks to all of you and again to so many of you here at FBGs that I consider friends. As I wrote, many times it's a lonely battle and that's a good thing. I don't want anyone else to have to experience what I've been going through. For those of you here that unfortunatley have, I think you know what I'm talking about.
Sorry for taking so long to check back in too. When you sleep 2/3 of every day, time goes by pretty fast.

I'll smoke the bird but Mrs. SLB is an incredible chef. What I believe is her secret lust for Giada, and my not so secret lust, has taught her well. I've eaten at some great restaurants all over these United States as well as Italy and she's just as good if not better.

I don't post much in here over the 13 years I've been a member, nor do I remember any direct interaction with you, but I have followed your journey with this eveil disease and wish you nothing but the best and I'm very glad you are on the right path. Take care and Happy Thanksgiving.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Good (The GREAT!!)
1. I received the results from the Dotatate scan, and I don’t have ANY cancer cells left. Yippee!
2. Our oldest son Calvin sent me the attached letter a few weeks before Christmas. Not only the best gift I ever received, I got the break, he thought I deserved, I’m not so sure about that, but I needed.
3. I’m at my ideal weight! Rocking my “skinny” jeans, yo! LOL
The Bad (The “meh”)
1. After getting the great news, nothing is truly “bad”. One of the many things this whole journey has taught me. I’ve always tried to be positive, but you probably won’t be surprised to read that my perspective on life has changed. The road to recovery is truly in front of me! However, not complaining, seriously NOT COMPLAINING, but …..
2. I’m still exhausted pretty much all day, every day. I continue to sleep 12+ hours but push myself every day to do something. In November the oncologist told me it would be 3-6 months before I would start to return normal, and it has been 2 months to the day so it’s still early. I’ll get there!
3. I still have pain in my left eye and staring at screens too long doesn’t help it. My first appointment with the neuro-ophthalmologist is Thursday morning. Hey, I know it isn’t cancer or a tumor so I’m sure they will figure it out!
4. My taste buds are still out of whack but that helps me keep this svelte figure.
5. Facial hair still fried. ☹
The Ugly
1. There’s still considerable pain in my face, jaw and neck but I’ve been getting rehab on it and making progress. I don’t look quite this bad anymore!
Once again, thank you for all the prayers, good vibes, love and support. To steal a line from Mr. Gehrig, today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth.
I can’t wait until I’m ready to be released into the wild and see you soon!
