Spencer Ware, possibly the new work horse (2 Viewers)

So let's shift gears fast on this news. West was a stud in this offense last year before getting injured, before the Ware breakout. I think he's a good pickup right now and I don't see a lot talked about him. If anything happens (God forbid) to Ware, West would certainly become the workhorse, especially now that Knile Davis has been traded. HE can also serve as a PPR flex in the mean time of as a bye week fill in during a pinch. Run, don't walk to pickup West on this news.
West is just a guy. It's a great system so he could be useful if Ware got hurt but he's nothing special.

West is definitely the handcuff to Ware now but that's it. He will be purely change of pace. Ware has been better in every way. They were close last year with West getting the edge because of opportunity but Ware is a different man than he was last year.

Yeah, hence the, "If anything happens to Ware, West would become the workhorse," statement. Just like If anything happened to Murray, Henry would take over, and if anything happened to C.J. etc. Nobody is debating who the starter is going forward.

Ware was amazing last year, he just didn't get the same opportunity. Ware is a top 6 NFL RB.
Exactly. Watch the two games Ware got the start for KC because West was hurt. Before the year started I kept watching those plays in those games on NFL.com and it was getting me all excited. LOL It's some of the best tape out there on a RB last year. He'd get to the second level and just destroy a safety or DB.

When waiting for the season to start I put together highlight videos of like 15 RBs, after watching Ware's I came away thinking I had discovered some secret that no one knew about. I was just unbelievably impressed. My exact words were " Ware's highlights are very much worth watching. He sheds tacklers with ease and dare I say looks special. ".

I just love the way he runs. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, he runs as if every opposing defender owes him money. He's this year's Dion Lewis for me.

In a few weeks, barring injury, Ware will have been the Chief's starting RB for an entire year... and some people still choose not to believe.

I am almost beside myself with excitement about this Sunday. If he doesn't put up 150 total yards and 2 TDs, I'm going to be disappointed.

Obvious. Owners missed on Ware at the draft/auction/waivers and they've been backpedaling and justifying their mistake since. Worse butthurt for dynasty owners trying to spin their way out of it.

Lots of ifs but if JC is done in KC, Ware continues on this pace (2072 total yards from scrimmage pace), and he goes into training camp next year as the Chiefs unquestioned #1RB where does that put him in overall dynasty rankings? He's 25 years old and doesn't have a ton of mileage on his legs. I'd take him over the likes of Moncrief, Landry, Melvin Gordon, and maybe even Keenan Allen. Which would put him squarely in the range of a top 20 dynasty asset.

Speaking redraft, assuming Charles is out for the long haul, Ware should find himself right below the elite tier for me. I value DJ, Bell, Murray and Zeke more than him. Assuming McCoy gets healthy soon, Ware probably finds himself in the same tier as McCoy, Booker, and mayyyyybe Gordon/Ajayi/Hyde, although those three may be a step below. Top 8 ROS seems fair, no?

Agree with that

Charles is/was the cloud overhanging Wares long term value. The skies are beginning to part ... sunshine creeping through  ...  Still won't know until its clear and sunny, but you could make an argument he is top30, but not until Charles is out of the picture for certain in KC. Top20 is pushing it as there are really only 3 RBs that are firmly in that conversation today, Elliot/Bell/DJ. Before the draft this year some might have even put Lamar Miller or Gurley in that group. I don't think Ware has earned a spot in the top20 (yet), but top30 sure if Charles is gone. If he keeps it up and Charles is done in KC, he might crack the top20 as the 4th best RB, but by then other RBs might have broken out too, like Booker/Ajayi/etc. (if they perform) etc., and not to mention there will be a deep pool of talent in the rookie draft in 2017, coming off a successful Zeke year if he keeps it up (so picking up rookie RBs will be popular again), and some of those guys might crack top20 since they will be 2-4 years younger than Ware, and depending on what team drafts them and their situation will become. So while Gurley/Miller might fall out of top20, others could come in to replace them and still edge out Ware. Top20 is a tough sell today for Ware, as good as Ware has performed, but by the beginning of next season we will know a lot more and if everything breaks right I suppose there is an outside chance it could happen.

Welp, there goes that..  Super conservative process to bring him back if Charles is able to play.  Kills the momentum.
