Spoon. One less utensil to wash.
How many utensils am I using if I use a knife?
Depending on the situation, a spoon can be used to spread and eat. A knife can only be used to spread, requiring an additional utensil to eat.
Give me an example when you would be using a spoon to eat something that you just spread with said spoon.
Any time you spread something on bread.

When I make a quick serving of tuna or egg salad sandwich.

Pancakes and syrup. Spread the syrup on the pancakes and cut and feed with the spoon.

FWIW: I normally eat with only a spoon unless it's pasta or steak (knife) or fried chicken (hands). Most anything else I can get by with only a spoon.
You eat a tuna sandwich with a spoon?

You spread your syrup on your pancake with a utensil?

This is the weirdest ####ing post I've seen around here for a long time.
You don't spread something on bread and then eat the bread with said spoon? Pretty sure this is on you.

I can't stop laughing

I think he's saying he uses the spoon to spread the tuna on the bread instead of scooping it onto the bread with a spoon and then using a knife to spread it out.

Yeah, but shuke specifically said "Give me an example when you would be using a spoon to eat something that you just spread with said spoon."

And I can't stop laughing envisioning someone eating a tuna sandwich with a spoon.

Can't tell if you guys are screwing with me or not.
I will spread tuna salad on the bread with a spoon and then use the spoon to cut the crust off and then also to scoop up and eat the chunks of tuna salad that fall off on the plate.

What's wrong with a fork for mixing tuna? Am I missing something here?

I can't think of a restaurant where a spoon is part of the table setting (a Ramen place, but that's all I got).

A spoon is good for spreading pizza sauce on a pizza, pasta sauce when making lasagna, sour cream when making sour creamy things, really anything that is more liquidy. The knife is by far superior for butter, peanut butter, jam/jelly, and most normal spreading items.
This is correct.  As for the poll question, spoon shouldn't even be in consideration.
