We will never know but I think Windu was dead as he fell. After the emperor tricked Anikan into saving him by playing turtle, he hit Windu with the full force of his lighting from 2 feet away.

BTW Darth Maul actually survived getting cut in half and taking a huge fall. They brought him back in season 4, episode 21 of the clone wars animated series. Once the writers did that, I think possibility of bringing back Windu is firmly on the table.

He got struck in the face with force lightning, had his arm chopped off and flown out the window from one of the top towers of coruscant. That's pretty much you're dead as far as Star wars is concerned.

At the 24-second mark is Luke's scream from Empire when Vader tells him he's his father.

Someone says "Rey" around the 58-second mark. Sounds like Obi-Wan.

I have a feeling I'm gonna be watching this A LOT now.

Early muffled dialogue has two distinct moments, both are Padme saying "Anakin."

What was the specific reason R2 woke up right when he did? They had been in that location for a while and BB8 tried to get him to move but he would not.

What made him later realize he had the rest of the map info that he could have given earlier?

One other thing I noticed on my second viewing: every time Rey was about to do something Force related (like when she took on Kylo Ren), they played Luke's theme from episode IV.

Also, on my second viewing I caught this: When Kylo Ren reads Rey's mind, he mentions her early memory of "an island."

Strong evidence she's been to Luke's hideout before. And that the old man who had the missing piece of the map was there watching her, like Ben watched Luke.

Who was that old guy? He knew Kylo's real name and family. He had met him before. My guess is he was present during Luke's training of the next generation of Jedi.

Lastly, I also tried my hardest to identify the voice in her vision who says, "This is the first step..." but I couldn't nail it as Obi Wan or Yoda or Annakin.

Im watching A New Hope right now, and Ben just said it to Luke when Luke is first practicing with a saber on the Millenium Falcon while on their way to Alderaan.. The exchange:

Luke: You know, I did feel something. I could almost see the remote.

Ben: Thats good....youve taken your first step into a larger world.

Just saw it today. Wow, 100x better than 1-3. Right on par with 4-6. Probably impossible to catch/pass those, but it made one hell of an attempt.

I think Abrams could've made it work since he's a far more skilled director than Lucas but I agree it's good to have new actors we generally haven't seen creating hopefully new iconic characters.

I think it was killing Han that did it but I agree at this point it's likely unnecessary especially once his training is complete. Be interesting to see if he wears it in the next film.

She won't be in it. Instead we'll have a feisty red headed force user named Jara Maide that in no way should be confused with the now defunct EU character of a similar name.

I agree 100%. She would need to fall somewhere in the Jedi bloodline to have the ability she showed in this movie.That means a descendant of Leia/Luke.

I don't see Abrahms bringing in some new character in the next episode that no one has ever heard of that turns out to have fathered/mothered her with Luke/Leia. It would be a huge bummer.

I think even a twin thing with Ren would be cheesy. I like the "daughter of Luke", who then ran away from everything, but redeems himself through his daughter plot line fits the best. I'd totally buy that; hope they don't jump the shark with some wacky ### double switch move.

Han may have left before Kylo went bad. Kylo may have gone bad before Leia gave birth. If Rey is a Solo, I don't think she's Kylo's twin.

My mind keeps going towards, how will episode 9 end...Luke sacrificing himself to save a young family member (possibly Kylo or Rey) or Rey sacrificing herself to bring balance to the force (ala Matrix 3)...hopefully something else and the story continues to stay fresh and true to the originals at the same time. No chance I don't see any of the 5 coming out- I'm rooting for them to be good!

I have not read the EU books. If Kylo is Han and Leia's son and Rey is Luke's daughter then JJ Abrams would have introduced the mother too. Could it be Maz Kanata?

Abrams is not a writer, nor the director, of Star Wars 8. Rian Johnson and George Lucas are listed as writers with Johnson as director.

I don't see Abrahms bringing in some new character in the next episode that no one has ever heard of that turns out to have fathered/mothered her with Luke/Leia. It would be a huge bummer..

Twins run in the family. She is Ren's sister.

They split up the family "to keep them safe" and it backfired big time. This is why Luke went into solitude and explains his expression seeing Rey.

It is also probably tied to Ren's fall to the dark side somehow.

I don't think Han knew there were twins, probably a Luke/Leia scheme.

That would make Leia one of the biggest #####es in the galaxy. It's one thing to hide twin children from Vader. It's another to hide a child from Han. There's absolutely no reason to do that. No way he could've possibly done anything to warrant being lied to like that. She's Luke's daughter. It's the only thing that makes sense in my opinion.
