Start NYG Defense this week vs Cutler (1 Viewer)

Let me start off saying this prediction is based on nothing other then my personal observations and memories.

After watching Cutler for multiple years in Denver and Chicago, he seems to have some sort of pattern. When I watched all of his games in Denver he would have games like he did last night. Where he ""could" have had 5 interceptions. He had ones that were dropped, called back because of penalty and he had some throws that were fractions of inches away from being knocked down or picked off. He gets away with a lot of these because he throws the ball incredibly hard even when he doesn't need too.

He tended to follow these games up with games that he didn't get these breaks.

So I am predicting that Cutler throws 2-3 INT with at least one being in the red zone this week vs. the NYG secondary.

I am pretty sure all NFL quarterbacks throw balls every week that are fraction of inches away from being knocked down or picked off.

I am sure Cutler will have a game or two this year where he throws too many picks, as the way he plays almost makes it inevitable, but the Giants defense is pretty bad, so I don't see it being next week.

It seems like a perfect storm. If the Giants D does one thing well, it's rushing the passer. The Bears' offensive weakness is pass protection. The Giants' backs are against the wall, they got embarrassed last week, and they play at home.

I think Cutler will be sacked 4-5 times & pressured a ton, and I think there's a good chance for 2 or more INTs.

I'm starting the Giants D partly because there's no better option on the WW, but I do feel pretty good about it after analyzing it.

I'm not sure that I will be starting them, but it's also a short week of preparation after a hyped and emotional game against the packers. Bears could very well fall flat in NY.

Yea, but it seems different with Cutler. Sure it is a game of inches and there are always passes that are that close. There are times that Cutler throws balls that get through to the receiver that you have no idea how it gets through the defenders hands that seem to be "right there".

I thought this in week 2.

He went on to pass for 3TDs

Looked like he should have had 3 TDs last night too. (Olsen, Bennett down at the 1, Clark drop)

As a New Yorker, I would not start the Giants D against a pass happy offense...and I would not sit Cutler against the Giants either.

I truly do not understand this call either. I mean Cutler has shown to be a different player thus far. Martz has seemed to boost this guys confidence a ton. I mean I dont understand this call one bit. Giants secondary does not scare me. And Cutler will be starting with confidence in my lineup

Manning, Peyton

Vick, Michael

Rivers, Philip

Brady, Tom

are the only better fantasy QBs at least in my league.(6TD, -2 INT)

I dont see any one from ATL making a thread start Vick against redskins. you have a decent QB in Orton no need to be poopooing your ex on fantasy message board

last 5 games from cutler

2010 - week 3- 221 yards 1-TD/1-INT - 82.5 QBR

2010 - week 2- 277 yards 3-TD/0-INT - 136.7 QBR

2010 - week 1- 373 yards 2-TD/1-INT - 108.3 QBR

2009 - week 16- 276 yards 4-TD/0-INT - 122 QBR

2009 - week 15- 273 yards 4-TD/1-INT - 108.4 QBR

14-TD/3-INTs in the past 5 games

one game does not make a trend, I understand you may be bitter toward Cutler but dont wrap you feelings into fantasy analysis.

yesterday was cutlers worst game in a while, he is not the same guy you remember. in the past few games he has thrown the ball away and not forcing it.

I dont see any stats that back you hunch, based on recent numbers he should have 2 to 3 TDs and 1 INT. with a QB rating above 100.

The Bears O-line is horrendous, I'm surprised Cutler hasn't been carted off yet. There's no way he plays 16 games this year.

The Bears will pass a ton, and the Giants D-line will get major pressure. Cutler will be running for life even more than he was vs GB. The difference will be this time he's on the road. 2-3 INTs, book it.

The Bennett down at the one and Clark drop were on the same drive...so, not sure where you would get 3TDs out of that.

I would start the Giants D. The Giants made fixable mistakes that handed the last game to the Titans. The first loss the players blamed on the coaches, this one is on the players, I expect it wake both up and they comeback this week really focused after being embarrassed two weeks in a row.

There are plenty of better DEF options on the WW as far as I'm concerned. Other than the game against the Panthers, the Giants defense has been pretty bad. In my league, they have the second lowest point total of any defense (only Houston is worse). Cutler may have a let down week, but I'm still not touching the Giants.

I have seen NYG play this year .....they are not the Green Bay Packers on D.

Don't put too much stock in last nights game.

Cutler was a shirt sleeve away from 2 passing TDs, 220 some yards and 37 yards rushing. Not too shabby against that crazy defense in GB. And if that shirt sleeve tackle wasn't flukey enough, a TE dropping a TD when the pass hits him right in the hands is.

And the one almost interception was blatent pass interference.....one of the roughing the passer INTs he was being hit while he threw.

He HAS 2 INTs this season in 3 games. If you expect sacks, sure but I don't get predicting INTs off of almost INTs the week before with a different defense than he is facing.

Your love for Cutler makes you blind to so much...

:whoosh: solid thoughts that brought GREAT results for those that did play the GMen

Good call. :kicksrock:

They got 2 INTs from the Chicago trio of quarterbacks :X , as well as 84 sacks.

Gotta give the Giants defense credit for stepping up, if only for a week.
