Starting 2 WR on Same Team? Bad idea? (1 Viewer)

Is this a bad idea? I can see times that it would be (all your eggs in one basket), but if you feel VERY confident in the passing potential of your team, doesn't it actually reduce risk?

Apologies but Im going to use my own team example -- I have AJ Green and Marvin Jones.

My thinking is that the Dolphins give up an average of about 275 yds to opposing teams. CINN is above average passing game, so if I could know FOR SURE that those two guys would get the majority, say 250 yds with the possiblity of a score, that locks in 25 + maybe a TD for my starting WRs.

The risk in playing just one guy is that if the other guy gets all the points, you miss out. If you pick right you do great.

Playing both assures you get the points no matter who scores. You limit your upside, but if you have confidence that you get a combined 31 pts, I may want to just take that.

Crazy talk?

Play your best two wr. If they are on the same team, fine. If they aren't, fine.
This

If AJ gets you 20 and Marvin gets you 11

its no different then aj getting you 20 and the 2nd wr on the colts getting you 11

and to your point op its a good match up for the bengals so that aids your case

Play your best players. For instance, I'm likely going to be trotting out both BMarsh and Jeffry vs. GB this week and feel quite good about it.

A prime example of this is the fact that you could have been fielding a team almost solely comprised of DEN skill position players and have gone undefeated (you'd be SOL this week however).

Last week I had to play J Bell and R Bush in the same league. Worked out just fine. I have to play Morris and Helu together in another league this week. Not feeling as confident, but they are my best 2 RB's.

Like others have said, you play your best 2 players. It doesn't matter which team they are on.

Thanks fro the replies guys.

I guess I sometimes feel like with some games there is momentum that affects an offense. And if things go poorly then both guys get shut out. But I guess thats no different than two guys on different teams.

I like doing this at the WR position if theyre your best guys. It adds consistency. One week Marshall goes off and one week Alshon does. Either way I get about 30 points out of 2 receivers.

For several weeks I was playing both Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon and it worked out very well. I can understand the reservation, though.
