They said that about Tiki...If only he were a little bigger, great player anyway...

I thought DeAndra Cobb was going to produce more than he did last year - especially in the return game. Would they draft another smallish return-type guy?I agree he could be the steal of the draft. He's my pick as well.
I think Atlanta will take a look at him to eventually replace Dunn. He could end up in a nice situation regardless where he's drafted in the 3rd/4th round (I just happen to think Atlanta's the team he ends up with).
That would be the perfect place for him...this makes a lot of sense.I agree he could be the steal of the draft. He's my pick as well.

If you are referring to that other post, I do not believe those are combine numbers. I just read elsewhere (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14627) that NFL network had his unofficial 40 time as 4.45.So Drew ran a 4.32 at the combine is this correct?
Pac10 = Speed
Listed at 5'8".LINKOver under on his height at the combine: 5'6.5"
He's not just short. He's very short. He has very short arms and tiny hands.
The under is a real possibility. UCLA listed Olson at 6-3. He just measured 6-1.
I don't believe those are combine numbers. The combine measurements do not match that chart.Officially listed at 5'8".LINKOver under on his height at the combine: 5'6.5"

Maurice Drew is 5' 6 and 3/4 (basically 5' 7"), 205 lbs (way bigger than Sproles whos 183) and runs a 4.41 40-yard dash with great moves. He's short, but NOT small. Did you see his legs at the combine? They're tree trunks. I think this kid is the real deal. His body reminds me of Barry Sanders. I'd rank him below Reggie Bush, but above ALL the other RBs in the draft as of today.
LHUCKs you are right the Pac 10 equals Fake Speed pac 10 speed 4.38 equals every other conference 4.45 speedCorrect so far. 4.45If you are referring to that other post, I do not believe those are combine numbers. If you watched the combine the first thing that stands out when it comes to Drew is his monster thighs. He reminds me of two other backs...
Eric Bienemy, Colorado
Barry Sanders
Now I am just talking body types right now but if I had to guess I would say he will have no problem taking a pounding at the NFL level. He is really put together and had a great career at UCLA. He may surprise some folks.
Andre Hall turned in a burning 40 time too.
Big East = Conference of Champions
And you would be wrong. # 1, Drew does not even comes close to the skills Sanders displayed coming out of Oklahoma State. 2nd, I would be willing to bet quite a bit that Drew will be playing closer to his collegiate playing weight, rather than at 200. 3rd, he is going to get devoured when he tries to pass block. I like Drew, I think he has nice moves in the open field, but he is not an inside runner like Warrick Dunn. This will make him an outstanding kick returner and change of pace back, but nothing more.Maurice Drew is 5' 6 and 3/4 (basically 5' 7"), 205 lbs (way bigger than Sproles whos 183) and runs a 4.41 40-yard dash with great moves. I never said Drew was comparable to Barry Sanders in terms of skills. I said his BODY reminds me of Sanders who was 5' 8" and 200 lbs, but had huge legs. I do envision Drew like a Brian Westbrook though. Only faster. RBs do not need to be tall to be productive. Who said the other backs will be able to hold their weight? I am sure Bush will be playing closer to 190 than 200. I will say it one last time, Drew is going to carve out a nice niche as a 3rd down back/change of pace/explosive punt returner. Nothing more. It's a role many would love to have. And Drew was weighed at 205, not 200. That's the second time you have stated a factual inaccuracy about him. Every other RB bulks up before entering the NFL, but for some reason, Drew won't be able to? I'm not buying it.
Yes we will, that is the beauty of opinions.I guess we'll agree to disagree.
True. Very true.Yes we will, that is the beauty of opinions.I guess we'll agree to disagree.
Bump so it is clear who originally pimped Drew on this board.
They need to get a smiley in here of a smiley drinking kool-aid. Or a smiley that looks like the Kool-aid guy. I think that would be appropriate here.Maurice Drew is 5' 6 and 3/4 (basically 5' 7"), 205 lbs (way bigger than Sproles whos 183) and runs a 4.41 40-yard dash with great moves. Because San Diego put him at strictly punt return, but Sproles will eventually get his chance. Schottenheimer himself said that Sproles is a great talent, but of course he has no chance at all in SD to get any time at RB. He just needs a couple of years under his belt, and he'll get a chance with a team that's looking for a D.Davis/Dunn/Barber type RB. This is a guy that had 1900 yds rush his sophomore year at K state. He will get his shot, just not when he's got a HOF guy in front of him right now..Heard the same talk about Sproles and he didn't do much last year.
He's an electric playmaker...if the Bears were going after Randle El I can see the interest in Drew.I really, really hope the Bears get this guy.
Not only that, but Drew outweighs Sproles by 20 pounds...and is close to that prime weight for a runningback.Because San Diego put him at strictly punt return, but Sproles will eventually get his chance.Heard the same talk about Sproles and he didn't do much last year.
yeah, but they don't even have a 3rd rounder anymore. I don't think he'll drop to the end of the 4th.He's an electric playmaker...if the Bears were going after Randle El I can see the interest in Drew.I really, really hope the Bears get this guy.
I agree...no way does he makes it to the 4th with his strong workouts. I'd say late second is where we'll see him go. This is what Rob Rang said (after I posted this thread mind you )yeah, but they don't even have a 3rd rounder anymore. The best RB no one seems to be talking about... He's a definite 2nd round pick. If the Colts aren't able to fill their need for a RB, they have Drew ranked pretty high. The Giants and Falcons like him as a potential replacement for Barber, Dunn eventually.
Current mock has him going to Carolina with pick #58, second round.
Drew, in the right situation, will be a special player. Forget size, etc - he just makes plays and wants to take it to the house. For those of us on the West Coast, we know he took over games as much as Bush did. He's the real deal.
