Steelers at Raiders (1 Viewer)

DHB blasted by a helmet-to-helmet shot. Getting loaded on to a cart. No penalty.
Looking on the replay, was it really an illegal hit? It's for a TD, is he supposed to let him catch it? Don't get upset, not trying to dig or start a fight, just curious what the options were for Pittsburgh there.
He left his feet and hit him helmet-to-helmet. That gets called every time by any normal crew. I have no idea why it wasn't called, nor do I have any idea how San Francisco got two challenges with no timeouts. I thought for the most part the replacements were doing OK, but there is some really inexplicable stuff going on right now.I can't even remember the last time I saw such a blatant pick. Just a straight slant and blindside the corner on his ###. That didn't get called either. We get a chop block at the end here. This kind of crap injures people. Referees miss things all the time, but these are plays that are occurring right in front of referees.I've heard it talked about for weeks. The glaring weakness in the replacement referees is that they don't know how to call the physical aspect of the game. The teams are starting to adapt now and that's going to get more people hurt. Some fans are going to be OK with that, but if the NFL is serious about trying to prevent injuries they need to fix this soon.

Well this was the case in just about every game. There seemed to be a play which tested the boundaries on defenseless receivers and the refs were completely inconsistent (not that the regular ones were much better). The problem being the rule is too vague and the refs have too much interpretation not to mention as you alluded to, do you just let them catch the ball?
You could also lead with the shoulder and your head up. I see the 49ers' aggressive defense do that all the time. Leaving your feet with your head down is the issue here.

GG Raiders.

Steelers had too many penalties, turnovers, and mediocre defense. How many times do the Steelers score 31 points and lose the game?
