Actually not true.Starbucks burns their beans so they always taste the same as well as to mask the taste of lower quality beans. They're the McDonald's of coffee.

Pretty good post.Coeur de Lion said:It's a matter of taste IMO. Starbuck's absolutely does roast their beans darker than do most other places / brands, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the beans are crap. Some people prefer the darker roasts, some people prefer the lighter. It's not fair to compare a huge chain like Starbuck's to smaller more expensive kinds of beans (I'm a huge fan of Intelligentsia), anyway. As far as big chains go, I like Starbuck's, and I drink my coffee black also.
Right, McDonald's coffee is better than Starbucks.Actually not true.
Starbucks Christmas Blend kicks ###.General Malaise said:I do like a dark roast, so maybe it's the burnt beans I enjoy. I can't stand Starbucks "Pike" blend, which is really poor quality, IMO. But anything dark is fine by me. The Costco bag of beans provides our family the best bang for the buck.
I don't drink coffee or beer. I'm really confused in this thread.WTF happened in herethis was about ####ty beer and now has devolved into a #### slinging contest about coffee??
Didn't you read the BS post above? Arabica beans! Ethical sourcing! Stuff you would never find from other big companies like McDonalds or Green Mountain! Honestly, it doesn't matter because it comes down to taste, but that post reads like the propaganda from every single coffee company on the market. No idea why people like Starbucks.
If you drink too much coffee, beer can take the edge off, and if you drink too much beer, coffee can be energizing.I don't drink coffee or beer. I'm really confused in this thread.
This thread got long fast, so excuse me if this is a Honda.
The one thing I will criticize Stella for is the small bottles sizes they sell. They strategically made the beers smaller to get the case to a better price point. I know several people who have bought a case thinking it was a good deal, only to realize later the beers are smaller.
It wasn't some grand conspiracy to fool the American public. 330 ml is a common bottle size in Europe. You know, 1/3 of a liter. They don't want to run different bottling lines. Metric system. Get some!In that case I don't like Stella either now. Merica! It wasn't some grand conspiracy to fool the American public. 330 ml is a common bottle size in Europe. You know, 1/3 of a liter. SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH!!!1!!1!!So what's a good coffee where you guys live that can be had in Southern California?
I also love Britney Spears's comment is about how the "roast" in French Roast is right there in the name. That's a beauty.
Also, I like Starbucks. If you've ever had Dunkin' Donuts, you'd know why.

But this thread is about a ####ty import, so...This beer snob ish has gone too far. First it was dumping on any domestic light beer, and now we are targeting decent imports? Listen, I like craft beer as much as anyone, I have a few CCB growlers in the fridge right now, but I can enjoy almost any cold beer. I like Stella, and Bud Light is my go to when binge drinking. Hell, I'll even drink rubbing alcohol if the right mixers are around.
Name a few of your favorite European pale lagers that are widely available. But this thread is about a ####ty import, so...
why not? American bourbon makers have been making special 700ml bottles for the wierdo euros for a while nowIt wasn't some grand conspiracy to fool the American public. 330 ml is a common bottle size in Europe. Apparently, bourbon distillers have decided it's better for their bottom line and Stella has decided that it's not. Pretty simple, really.why not? American bourbon makers have been making special 700ml bottles for the wierdo euros for a while now
Sounds like you're ready for a citrousy IPA.Wife and I are heading out for dinner soon. My beard is scruffy just enough to make me look tough but sensitive. My jeans are skinny but not really intentional. I'm going to wear some combo of flannel shirt with an off color T-shirt underneath that says: Vaping is for Vapers.
I think I'm ready to order a Stella. Will report back.
Does it come in a special glass?Sounds like you're ready for a citrousy IPA.
Of course. If you drink it out of a bottle or the wrong glass, you will suffer the worst sneer.Does it come in a special glass?
Only if you request it from that one waiter you kind of know that you had drinks with in a larger social setting years ago.Does it come in a special glass?
I lived in New England basically all of my life, and if I have to never eat one of those fake egg sandwiches again, I will truly be a happy man every day during breakfast time.SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH!!!1!!1!!
Pretty sure 'murica doesn't run on Starbucks.

They're even ripping people off on that.330 ml is a common bottle size in Europe. You know, 1/3 of a liter.
Have you never tried anything with a reserve label? You are fortunate enough to live in the Seattle area though, so you really should go to the roastery on Capitol Hill.proninja said:Brit, what are some of these smaller batch roasts you mention? I am open to the idea that Starbucks makes some good coffees, I just haven't had them.
McDs still mixes in robusta and neither comes close to the efforts Starbucks puts into supporting the farming community. A recent example is the THIRTEEN MILLION coffee plants that we are growing and donating, including all of the very complex logistics, to farmers in Central America affected by coffee rust. Admittedly we are still not very good at sharing this information efficiently with the public.Didn't you read the BS post above? Arabica beans! Ethical sourcing! I was trying to see if Brit was paying attentiongood coffee![]()
The reserve coffees are really good, but I'm pretty sure that most stores don't carry them. I can't resist anything from Africa that is "sun-dried," personally. So good in a French press.Have you never tried anything with a reserve label? You are fortunate enough to live in the Seattle area though, so you really should go to the roastery on Capitol Hill.
Yeah. The reserve coffees brewed in a Clover machine are really good.Have you never tried anything with a reserve label? You are fortunate enough to live in the Seattle area though, so you really should go to the roastery on Capitol Hill.
Its like when American soda went from 20oz bottles in six packs to 16.9 oz yet the price remained the same. This thread got long fast, so excuse me if this is a Honda.

Sun dried Africans are definitely among my favorites. Enjoying a fresh cup of Ethiopia Mocca Java from my Technivorm right this moment. Not sure why you put sun dried in quotes, it is of course actually processed by drying it in raised beds in the sun vs with water, which gives it the fruity flavor of the cherry getting into the bean. The reserve coffees are really good, but I'm pretty sure that most stores don't carry them. Board alert system notifies me if people who don't know stuff start making up BS.I was trying to see if Brit was paying attention
We aren't targeting decent imports, this is a bad beer. I am not saying the American macro brews are great, but I much prefer them to Stella and for a fraction of the priceThis beer snob ish has gone too far.
