Stephen Cooper? (1 Viewer)

I picked up Kaluka Maiava and struggled with starting him over Cooper, I decided to go with Cooper and it just might cost me the game SMH

add LOFTONwtf is goin on today ??
I started Cooper and Lofton today.Last week it was Beason with 1 solo & 2 assts. This game is starting to piss me off so bad I want to never play again. Guys not hurt, on the field, but just can't make a single play after weeks of good production. Inexplicable and makes all the time I spend on this stupid site wasted. I'm just going to start winging it like all of the other "guppies" in my league with better records than me. This is the second straight year of this crap, too. I don't spend hours researching all the angles of who to pick up and who to add and who to drop and paying for memberships to go .500 against guys who almost forget to set their lineups.Zero stats from a guy with no reason just like there was no real reason for Beason's collapse last week (which was the deciding factor in my 50/50 decision between Cooper and Beason). How the hell am I not even competitive with my weekly LB scoring with Lofton, Beason & Cooper? F fantasy football. Oh, and Braylon Edwards & Jay Cutler can kiss my ### as well.

"thats why they play the games" , but seriously step back from the ledge my friend. unless this is your first year u should know things hardly go as scripted/predicted. their are way too many damn variables

It's because fantasy football is not 100% skill :)

It's because fantasy football is not 100% skill :goodposting:
But this sounds more like it is 100% luck!!

Not really. In any given week, Joe Blow LB will outscore Beason/Cooper and the like. But not over the course of the season. FF is kind of like poker that way (seen that analogy on these boards before). Short term luck can affect your weekly outcome, but your skill will show through over the course of a season and especially over the course of many seasons (especially in a dynasty league).

Is Cooper's knee injury hindering his play this much the past two games? 4 Tackles vs Denver and 0 tackles vs KC  or was he pulled from the blow-out game vs. the Chiefs? Dobbins and Siler put up good numbers, which leads me to believe Cooper was pulled from the game.

Can we expect the same thing next week in what should be a blow-out win over Da Raiders?

He wasn't pulled. He was in there during the fourth quarter...running into the picture after the play was over pretty much every time. It really makes no sense.

Givin his consistantcy in the past I'd assume its the knee injury, I think he is playing with a brace.

MLBs do better in close games when teams can run the ball. If it is a blowout usually there tackles are lower because of the passing and corners and safeties score big. I know this because I have vilma great week this week they played miami close game gets me 30 blow outs he averages 12 hope its not a blowout when you chose. That is my strategy put in my mlbs when its a close matchup olbs when its a blowout because they can get the sacks. So far my strategy has me 6-1 and 7-0.

but yes my strategy doesn't work all the time luck is always good to thank you desean jackson and will witherspoon this week.

Several Flaws1) Team up big usually ends up with inordinate amount of rush attempts from killing clock in 2nd half2) Team down big often ends up doing a ton of short passing/dumpoffs to TE/RB b/c DE's are locked into Kill QB mode giving MLB(if plays nickel) many cheap tackles. or team plays soft prevent zone giving short middle away and lets the opponent take alot of time driving while dinking and dunking.......still good for MLB(once again if in nickel)3) Vilma sucks and it takes the dolphins running 90% of the offense thru RB's(rushing+receiving) on a night they are rolling for him to have a fantasy productive night. if it just took a team staying competitive with the saints for Vilma to blowup then he's have done better against the Bills.

I said it wasnt perfect but vilma doesn't suck either. Buffalo ran the ball 20 times miami 25 plus miami throws screens and wildcat. So that still falls into plan vilma could have got 2 or 3 more tackles if it was ran in the 4th. Down big they don't do dump offs that is there 3rd or 4th read unless your playing the eagles who have that coming out of the backfield. Down big they need to save clock and score fast so they go for streaks posts and deep slants. They only rush 3 or 4 zone the backers in the nickle and that leaves 5 dbs do roam. I saw where you are going but a team runs the plays they think are good for there system to come back quick.

Doom also gets alot of his sacks in the second half of games they unleash him on the outside alot more then with the lead. Hope he keeps it up scoring me great.

I second what others said above. I, too, have Cooper, but @KC was a horrible matchup. You had to figure KC would get blown out, meaning fewer tackle opps for Cooper. Plus, if your league gives credit for assists, the KC scorer is notorious for being stingy with them. Having said that, I would have expected no worse that 4 to 6 tackles, but that he had an off week (particularly nursing an injury) is not totally unexpected.

Not that I'm saying I'm any genius with my IDP forecasts!
