There was a ton of hype about how great this kid was going to be, but watching him play, I just don't see it. He's passive which isn't a good trait for a LB. Every time you see a group tackle, he's NEVER in on it. He's always near the ball but you can always find him, he's the guy with his hands on his hips watching someone else make the tackle.

He has 7 assisted tackles along with Humber and Hawthorne at the LB spot. Only Vaccaro has more on the team with 8. Kikaha has 6.
His 9 solos put him 5th on the team - Vaccaro and Kikaha with 12 each are the leaders. So it seems he's in on as many tackles as anyone else.
As far as being 'passive', I don't get to see the Saints so I can't comment, but that observation is probably more valuable than tackle numbers right now.

I noted in another thread that Alexander looked a lot more active than David the first week or two. David seems to be coming around back to form but I do like the way Alexander flies around.Hopefully it is just a "adjusting to the speed of the game," but thus far, I'm not impressed. The kid in Tampa looks more like a MLB. Patience noted
Thanks everyone - just wanted to bring it up in case there was something going on that I wasn't aware of. Sadly it looks like the Saints defense will be on the field A LOT this season, so Anthony will get his reps. I am loving watching Alexander. He's going to be a good one!!
