Stevan Ridley Support Group (2 Viewers)

Hmm debating on starting him over Sproles, but I just have a feeling we'll see more Vereen this week despite the injury concern.
I disagree. As long as Ridley doesn't fumble or get hurt, I think he will see the far majority in carries. He has already significantly out carried Vereen this season, and I think they could get up big on the Raiders and just run the clock out. That would bode well for Ridley. I think Vereen would be a better RB in a shootout, but I don't see the Raiders offense putting up enough points for this to happen.

Good lord, starting him over Ellington. On paper, I feel really good about the decision. In my gut, it scares the crap out of me.
He's the kind of player that could get 100yds and two TDs or fumble on the first play and sit on the pine until the clock hits 00:00.

I think I'm starting both Ridley and Vereen in the same league. I don't care what the outcome, I'm getting some points vs. OAK. God that team is terrible.

For me the matchup is too good and the fact that after 2 games he has 20 more carries than the next closest RB speaks volumes.

Much like Lloyd Bridges picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue, I picked the wrong year to draft the New England offense. Even in a PPR league, Brady, Vereen, and Ridley are absolutely killing me. It's just very strange to me how a team that was always known for its ability to plug-and-play seemingly underwhelming players with positive results and consistently field a formidable offensive machine has suddenly turned into...this. Ugh.

I think that we need to consider this through the lens of process vs. outcome.

The outcome was obviously disappointing, but I don't actually think that the decision to start him was so bad, even in hindsight. Ridley got 43 snaps vs. Vereen's 29 and 19 carries vs. Vereen's 7.

The problem with using Ridley in general is fears about his usage. His usage yesterday was pretty robust for a RB these days. So while the results sucked, the way it happened wasn't that bad. If Ridley punches in 1 of those touchdowns in all those tries down by the goal line, it would have been a fine afternoon.

I'm sure the saga will continue, but I wouldn't use yesterday as evidence to give up on Ridley.

Brady looks washed up.

Starting Darrin Reaves over Ridley in one league in flex. That's how low Ridley can go...
Thankfully it doesn't look like I need Ridley's points in the league where I benched him for Reaves but, as others have said, when you're sure you should sit him...

Ugh.

Vereen is the passing offense back. Excpect ridley to get a HEAVY workload in this second half

Patriots are best when they run the ball with Ridley. It's opens Gronk up it opens the play action. When they run down hill this guy kills it. Stop running sweeps and toss...Run downhill and play action off of that it protects the QB because LB have to respect the PA and DE honest.

On my bench in weeks 2 and 5- combined 33 points

In my starting lineup weeks 3 and 4- combined 8 points

I now know the pain that is being a Ridley owner. I 'm proud to join your sad ranks.

As a Pats fan and Ridley owner on my dynasty team, I look forward to him being elsewhere next year. It is better for him IRL and in FF

So, I've sat Ridley on both of his 100 yard and a TD days. Played him all his other weeks.

Sitting him today if that makes anyone feel good.

Stevan Ridley - RB - Patriots

Patriots coach Bill Belichick admitted Monday that Stevan Ridley and ILB Jerod Mayo suffered major Week 6 injuries.

Ridley is believed to have a torn ACL. "Unfortunately I don't think it looks too good," said Belichick. "... I don't think it's minor." Ridley figures to be placed on injured reserve this week. The Patriots will presumably turn to a rotation to replace him, highlighted by Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden.

I can't believe I actually put in a trade proposal on him in the offseason (Dynasty).

What's that old Garth Brooks song about thanking God for unanswered prayers??

Not a big Ridley fan, but I feel bad for him and wish him luck wherever he ends up next year. He deserves and needs a fresh start somewhere else.

Unfortunately I gave up what looks like a mid 2nd for him in the offseason.

Sometimes you eat the bear...

What's the best news you can tell a Stevan Ridley owner?

He tore his ACL.
I'll be here all week.

We may never know because the Patriots are well known for playing games when they report injuries. They will prolly report Ridley as limited for the rest of the season. <_<
