Or, you know, you could look at more than 45 minutes of football before deciding one of the best surprises of the season is done. Either way. While you're at it, how about a thread about Plax being useless? I could use the help.next time I need one of my players to score I'm creating another topic.maybe I should start one for Housh or Benson???
Yes, I think I speak for all Slaton owners when I say, "Thank you, Rascal!!!"PS: Ahman Green is not the #1 in Houston... not unless he procured a time machine and went back in time 8 years to when he wasn't made of glass.Your post may be the best overreaction to an overreaction of all time. This may be the best overreaction thread of all time. Link??Surprise surprise Green got hurt again. He left with a groin injury after a horse collar tackle in the second half.
Not yet, you're just gonna have to trust this Texans fan. There probably weren't too many casual NFL fans who watched that game, but I did. He was definitely hurt. The extent of the injury is unknown. My guess is it's another one of the nagging variety.Link??Surprise surprise Green got hurt again. Also Texan fan who watched the whole game, what he saying is correct. R.Moats came in also after it happened. The coaches was looking at him on the sidelines where he was grabbing his thigh. Not yet, you're just gonna have to trust this Texans fan. I would like to see more touches for Slaton.. Moats seems to be the same size/type of RB Slaton is, so would they still run the 2 in RBBC? I guess that is yet to be seen.. but if you get any info during the week's practices I'd love to hear about it!"Be curious to hear the status of Ahman Green. He ran the ball well early in this drive but was dragged down with a horse-collar tackle by Bengals linebacker Brandon Johnson and has not returned. He was favoring his left leg as he walked to the sidelines."

http://houstontexans.com/news/Story.asp?story_id=4797(on RB Steve Slaton’s touchdown) “I’d have to go back and look. I actually didn’t think he ran well in the first half, as well as he can run. I’m not disappointed in him by any means, but I told him at halftime that I thought he left a few yards out there. The thing about him is he’s tough. That doesn’t hurt his feelings. He just put a smile on his face and said, ‘I’ll go get some more for you this half.’ We need him to become a big-time player. He’s a pretty good player right now, and we need him to just continue to get better.”
(on RB Ahman Green) “His groin got a little stiff on him. He had some real physical runs in the game. He is a concern right now, but I stopped by his locker on the way over here and he told me he’ll be fine, so I’m going to trust him. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.”
(on if he would move RB Ryan Moats up if RB Ahman Green is not available) “We like what we’ve seen from (RB Ryan) Moats. That’s why we activated him. You guys saw some quickness there at the end of the game. The thing that we liked about him, he plays special teams. It’s another player that puts on a uniform for us that’s going to contribute. I’ll go back and see how he played. We’re excited to get him and we’ll see how far we can bring him.”
Yeah right.Rototworld - The injury Ahman Green suffered in Week 8 was to his hamstring. The severity isn't yet known. Green finished with 45 total yards on 10 touches before exiting and Ryan Moats took over as Steve Slaton's backup.Source: houstontexans.comThe Slaton train is back in business! ALL ABOARD! CHOO CHOO!!!RB Ahman Green(on what his injury was in the game) “It was just a cramp in my leg, my left leg. Other than that, I’m good. I just have to get treatment and get ready for Minnesota.”
If Green is sidelined for a couple weeks, it is good news for Slaton owners as he will surely get more touches. But, I have a tough time getting excited when those two weeks include going to Minnesota and hosting Baltimore.Baltimore has only given up 450 yards rushing (#1) / 1 TD / 2.8 rushing average / 1 run allowed over 20 yards / Minnesota has only given up 495 yards rushing (#2) / 7 TD/ 2.9 rushing average / 3 runs allowed over 20 yards/ Minnesota's defense has been allowing the TDs, but they are still #2 in rushing yards allowed and lead the NFL in fumbles. Baltimore is a force this year against the run, period. I would have a hard time starting anyone against them this year. 1 TD allowed on the ground through 7 games....ouch.With Portis and ADP, he's been a spot play for me but as a bye week guy (like this week and coming up week 10) he's MONEY.Even with Green hovering since return, you can't have many, if any complaints about this kid, especially considering where he was drafted in most leagues.Keep feeding him the ball, Kubiak.

Ahman is due for a knee injury any day. i will gladly keep playing Slaton every week. if you think Ahman is gonna take over as the #1, you high. This may be the best overreaction thread of all time. They should bring in Travis Henry. Cramped groin was apparently not his problem.News Articles > Texans | A. From Rotoworld: Ahman Green-RB-Texans Oct. 29 - 10:29 pm et Texans coach Gary Kubiak revealed after Wednesday's practice that Ahman Green is dealing with injuries to both his knee and groin. He's listed on the injury report with a thigh problem and didn't take part in the workout. "His groin tightened up on him," Kubiak said. "He got his knee banged on the same play to soreness in his leg. So, it’s just a combination of things." Green is day to day and uncertain to play in Week 9.Source: houstontexans.comAhman is due for a knee injury any day. i will gladly keep playing Slaton every week. if you think Ahman is gonna take over as the #1, you high. This may be the best overreaction thread of all time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't both the Williams' tackles out for this game? Wouldn't that have a huge effect on Minnesota's D? Add in that they are on the backup MLB. Can you now run on them up the middle? Would it have as much of an effect to say he would have a neutral matchup, or even a favorable one now?Next 2 weeks..MINBALTfind a better option? or ride him out?
Not unless suspensions are announced between now and Sunday. Speculation is that the two will start their suspensions after the GB game in a couple of weeks.Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't both the Williams' tackles out for this game? Thanks, I wasn't sure when or if they were suspended and that would be a big difference if they were still there. I think that must have been wishful thinking on my part. Not unless suspensions are announced between now and Sunday. He was signed primarily for his excellent special-teams skills and saw action in the running game last Sunday because of Green's injury late in the game. He has some value because he's third on the depth chart and the guy ahead of him is a walking injury report. I wouldn't rush out to get Moats unless you're really, really desperate.Stompin said:Tell me more about Moats -- was he used situationally or as a COP back, or was he actually splitting carries? In a deep, RB-happy league, would love to get a jump on Moats if he could see the ball as an RBBC, no matter which D Houston has to face.
Id said the same myself, But being a homer, i think anyone could do well behind that line.Still that didnt sell me on the fact to add Moats. I had to do some homework....Moats was a FBG Darling at one point. Most compared him style EXACTLY to Westy. I think he is a potential threat to Slaton as he is a all around rush/rec rb with some speed at that. Just for the fact he cost you NOTHING at this point its worth it too see if anything matuers out of it. And like the previous poster mentioned.....Green is on the injury report all the time and Kubiak already stated he will give the backup rb carries so he wont overwork Slaton, whom is on some sorta touch count. Only worth the add in a deep roster league imo, (23++)He was signed primarily for his excellent special-teams skills and saw action in the running game last Sunday because of Green's injury late in the game. (on if there is any other injuries) “(RB) Ahman (Green) practiced the first part of practice. (He) did not practice the second half of practice. So, he was very, very limited. So, we’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.”(on RB Ahman Green saying that he likes to practice if he’s hurt before a game) “I agree with (RB) Ahman (Green) (laughs). I’d like to see him practice tomorrow, too. We do have one more day and we’ll get him out here. Hopefully, he does well tomorrow and we can count on him on Sunday. But if not, the other kids have gotten the work.”(on in who the kids reference is to in the previous question) “Yeah, (RB Ryan) Moats and actually (FB) Cecil’s (Sapp) getting some work back there, too.” (on if WR Jacoby Jones will return kicks offs) “(WR) Jacoby (Jones), yeah, and the (RB Ryan) Moats can do it, too. We won’t put (RB Steve) Slaton back there. So, I would say Moats or (WR) David (Anderson) would be the emergency guy back there. David can do both punts and kicks.”
