Stock Thread (30 Viewers)

Etrade, along with just about everyone else, have phased out fees with the exception of some for OTC, foreign stocks, etc.  Is that what you're trying to buy?  If so, I think most charge fees for those.

I also use Fidelity and like it, many use TD, some use Schwab.  It's all personal preference, with some having slightly higher fees for foreign stocks, some not allowing you to trade in certain stocks (I couldn't buy SFIO in either of my accounts, others here were able to).
Having both TD and Fidelity is good. You can save some fees using Fidelity, but you have to go to TD to buy some really high risk penny stocks.

I haven't been involved with it for a long time, which is why I'm looking to move to a more up to date platform.  Thanks for not helping, though.
This seems absurd to us, as many of us would have thousands of dollars in fees every year. But I we had to pay a $7, we would have significantly different trading patterns. Its truly revolutionized retail stock trading. Welcome to the tread. Its fun in here and we see lots of winners posted.

Good morning.

Value/dividend picks today for those seeking current income, and some long term moderate growth. These stocks are highly defensive.

MDU

EXC

VZ

GIS

GSK

PFE

LMT

These are not sexy in today's GME/AMC/SPAC/Bitcoin frenzy/roulette wheel casino market we see right now LOL.

These are real stocks, with real earnings, and real strong and growing dividends.

Buy them with the utmost confidence for long term compounding and a defensive sleeve for your portfolio.

Take care folks.
Took a small position in each of these for a start.  Thanks.

It's like $7 a trade.
I haven't paid for trades other than Penny stocks like RLFTF

Ah, you're only dealing in Penny stocks. I'm not sure what platforms don't have fees for those. Schwab, Maybe RH?

Really though, as a beginner, Penny stocks probably aren't a good investment. It this is just gambling money knock yourself out. But if you need or want this money in the future, you may be taking on more risk than prudent.

EURN with terrible numbers and fore-shadowing a dividend cut.  I just dumped all my tanker stock.  Probably means all will be up 5% today.

Yeah, I'm planning to exit, too. Though you have to wonder how far they can fall when they're already 25% below book.
Just as I suspected....everything I sold is now up 10%.  I really need to start doing the opposite of what makes sense to me.  Buy on the news of dividend cuts, reduced income, idle capacity, and losing money.  Sell any company generating revenue.

I'll be opening a reverse bassnbrew etf. ;)

You should....everything I've been touching has turned to ####.

On the other hand, I'm absolutely crushing it for MIL.  That's more of a set it and forget it account.  I also don't buy any crazy leveraged ETFs or have after hours access setup.  Probably need to take some notes from that.

I dumped most my tankers as well and pivoted in to $NMCI. Considering 2023 $STNG leaps as my tanker play.

NNOX looks to be forming a nice head and shoulders, so it has a chance at a freefall. What's the cheapest, most profitable way to bet on a 15% loss by the end of next week? Will answer yours/
Buy 2/12 puts?  Just looked, 2/12 $65 puts going for around $7.60.  So in my opinion they’re fairly expensive and some of this is already priced in.

XL has been mentioned before and I think I'm going to start a position on Monday.  But they are planning to exercise their warrants on 3/1 at $11.50 - what does that typically do to the stock price?

I signed up with Simply Wall Street (simplywall.st) for their trial I love it. Its been the easiest to use and most wasily accessible, extremely detailed narratives of any portfolio

I would subscribe in a second if I knew how much.

Here is their pricing plan and I can't figure out if its 80/mo or 80/yr.

If its an annual price, I'm definitely in.

I see it as $115/year.

I see it as $115/year.
for some reason, mine reflects a ~30% discount, probably because of the link I i use.

Whichever; it says the price is XX and is billed annually.

Most every competing plan is priced monthly. Just seems unclear and could mean monthly price is XX and annual cost is billed 12XX.

Very good indication of how sharply my priorities have shifted that I’m looking more forward to seeing the $FVRR commercial than the game.

UUUUWS Has been pretty great lately. I bought in the 1.70s/1.80s and it closed Friday at its all time high 2.54.I did not know if it even sold AH, so for ####s and giggles I listed 500 for 2,70. It sold. Idk what that portends for Monday, but I'll have some available for sale in the 2.80s, 2.90s etc. Pre-market.

Look here, I was the solitary AH transaction in the universe Friday.

Wow, Motley recommended FVRR and they just had a super bowl commercial. Should’ve bought last week.
In one of my services with them they were recommended at $20 or so at the beginning of 2020. Livongo as well around the same price. Took me until $59 to buy Livongo and $121 for FVRR (bought two more time a little higher, glad I did). Wish I didn’t wait that long would have had way more but man there was so much to bye early last year. Easy to miss some.

A little above NAV, but saw this earlier:

Alussa Energy @AlussaEnergy

#WillFerrell brings the humor and truth to @GM’s Big Game commercial. Norway is a leader in #EV and that’s why we’ve announced a business combination with @FREYRBattery to bring the lowest cost and cleanest battery to the market. #cleantechnology $ALUS
