AAPL on a heater lately. The market likes the investment here and production overseas, I guess. And KTOS, which I mentioned here, is up another 10%. That makes it about 130% up for the year. Probably a bit rich now, but drone stocks have been :moneybag:.
Thoughts on the Firefly IPO?
Space is a pretty hot area. No idea about valuation, and although it's not AI hot, it's probably a good area with blue sky ahead (pun intended).

Are we all going to sign up for another round of TTD earnings overreaction followed by a climb back to $90?

Dropping like a bloody knife...
I am. I don't see anything concerning in the news. Seems like they are on target with guidance. Maybe they need to the the Amazon sandbag.

Don't think I'll buy more but I'll wait out being underwater like I am now

glub glub
They were lower than this 3 months ago...we have such short memories.
My timing was ungood. Bought TTD @ $82
We gave a sell rec a while back and rotated into CRM

Sorry man. That sucks.
Do you recommend getting back in here?
Yeah this is a very good entry point to make another 30-40% trade inside 6-9 months
would you sell exelon to put into crm? got a big chunk. been thinking of selling it cause it lags bigtime
If you want to stay utility I would shift to NEE.

I got a lot of CEG and some OKE (which i watched for years go up and decided to buy in the high 80s only to see it go to where it is now).

I think I might give CRM a try.

I need to check this thread out more. Starting to do a little more investing in stocks now (aside from my managed retirement port)

Picked up some $B today. Barrick Mining. One of the better gold mining operations, I've read.

Alright, I'm in for 3K shares of this stupid Hydrograph stonk. Don't buy this one. Let me be the lone idiot here. When we're all flying in planes made out of graphene, think of me then.

+27% today, nudging that 52-week high. I'll post any interesting updates or tidbits on this one once I figure out what the hell they do with graphene.

They make those new-fangled graphene calculators!

I wish they made condoms with it.

And also, that I could travel back in time with one item.

Tin stock announced a 7 cent dividend payable in Sept. To think way back in Feb or whatever, this thing was under siege by M23 rebels from Rwanda. And now, back over a buck Canadian and a nice, healthy dividend en route.

Shhhh. Don't tell that GM guy I piled into this one because... graphene.

And as a double bonus I dropped FANG (which has tanked). I will now wander outside to get struck by lightning. It's coming.

Half of mine sold today on a sell i set up

Love it

This really is a great mining company with the best tin grade in the world. Just with Mr. Market would recognize and reward. Still, that's a very tasty dividend.

which company? Sorry, just now checking into the thread
Alphamin Resources, OTC: AFMJF
Sweet! I bought some in 2021 for 0.36 then forgot about it LOL I am pretty sure it might have been GM that brought it up back then. Thanks GM!

Nvidia, $NVDA, now accounts for over 8% of the S&P500, the highest weighting for any single stock in index history

Not sure how to interpret NVDA being this valuable.
There's pretty much only one way that stat plays out. Just depends on how long the NVDA train can run. I took some profits a while back and I'll likely take some more if it hits 190.

Heheh.....uh, I'm kind of glad you didn't check it earlier in the year when the property was being invaded by the bad guys. :oldunsure:

About a month ago when I realized I had this gem, I sold enough to recoup my initial investment so playing with house money now. haha I set some alerts to watch at certain price points.

Keep in mind there's a 7 cent dividend coming in Sept too for folks owning this stock as of Aug. 29. Payable Sept 15.

However, I did just learn that a government entity is going to take 2 cents of that payable dividend as some sort of Franking Privilege or some such.

But still, 5 cents just for holding this penny stock ain't too shabby.

the Graphene kid up big again today
When to take the profit? Asking for a friend.
About a decade from now.
I finally read up on the company today. Looks like realistically about 2-3 years to profitability and a whole lot of things will need to go their way, but they certainly have a best in class processing for the material. in the meantime the reddit community is all over this ticker so go #stonks.

Yup, there's a very good breakdown on Reddit about this one - a little on the salesy side, but it's Reddit. The OP here does a nice job highlighting the uses, potential, catalysts, etc.

Now, I do feel duty bound to remind everybody AND myself that this one could easily be another CYDY or whatever that thing was. I like to think the management is much better than that one and the potential uses for their graphene are limitless but it's a penny stock, guys. Reddit can have an impact in both directions on all things STONKS.

Does this management openly commit obvious crimes on a near-weekly basis like CYDY's did? Because if not, we're already doing much better here.

speaking of, where's @chet these days?

So far, no! There's a retired asset manager who was with Sprott back in the day that's out there banging the drum on this thing. We've talked to him a few times and he's crazy about this company and has a big position - 18 million shares and if you listen to him hype this thing, he thinks it's going to $80. For anybody following, here's his Twitter info. https://x.com/BambroughKevin

No CYDY complaints here, I made 230% iirc. I may have been more lucky than good, but hey

More recently, I sold AFMJF and MP far too soon. Holding UAMY as it rises into the quarter is a real scream-sport :oldunsure:

Damn...

August 1 MU up 22%
August 6 AMD up 10%
August 1 SOFI up 13%

Seems pretty simple...wait for company to raise guidance, watch Wall St sell off, buy cheap shares, less than two weeks later sell and lock in a year's worth of gains.

Not sure why but UWMC up 11% today, some heavy volume buying. A nice surprise

Probably this:

UWM Holdings Revenues and Earnings Beat Expectations

Revenue exceeded analyst estimates by 35%. Earnings per share (EPS) also surpassed analyst estimates by 57%.

Looking ahead, revenue is forecast to grow 9.1% p.a. on average during the next 3 years, compared to a 5.4% growth forecast for the Diversified Financial industry in the US.

The company's shares are up 8.4% from a week ago.

I think those of us who bought in very soon after the recommendation did much better than others. I was also very fortunate. Did a little better still. And would have been fortunate-er if I hadn't literally been on top of a mountain the morning the roof blew off.
