What's the move @chet? Is there a benefit to us if they increased the outstanding shares by 100k? I think you said this would mainly be used for additional compensation for that bozo NP.Anyone else get a cydy proxy vote?
It probably helps that almost all of my sales in the taxable brokerages last year were short term.Same here. Love TaxCut.
Before the upload days I'd use one line per stock and per short or long term. Used the Var-S or L for most of the dates. Not what the IRS prefers, but I made sure the totals match what TD reports to them and kept it simple. They never questioned it and it always passed the computer screening.
As I was catching up on the thread, my email notification popped up.Anyone else get a cydy proxy vote?
This was the move they announced a week or so ago, right? Or is this something else. Its 100MM.What's the move @chet? Is there a benefit to us if they increased the outstanding shares by 100k? I think you said this would mainly be used for additional compensation for that bozo NP.

Margin gives you the ability to sell stocks that haven't settled yet with triggering the violations. What do margin mean?
At least the trades that put me over the edge was adding 4000 more CYDY at 5.94
My first foray into CYDY in my cash account. the other 20K shares all in my Roth
I think that feels about right, I’m not really waking up hungover this morning. Pretty positive I’m still drunk so a larger opening would make sense6.75.
I've been buying 100 shares at close every day and then selling into the pop and then accumulating on the pullback. I haven't done particularly well hitting the peaks and troughs on this, but the adding 100 shares at close has worked out well. Maybe move that up to buying 30 min before close as others now seem to be buying at the end of the day.6.756.65 currently pre-market. 6.70 ask.
exactly. And I have margin account that has always had and continues to have an extremely large balance available. I thought that would cover/prevent "free rides"Margin gives you the ability to sell stocks that haven't settled yet with triggering the violations.
Were you messing with TVIX at the time? That erodes away you margin to nothingexactly. And I have margin account that has always had and continues to have an extremely large balance available. I thought that would cover/prevent "free rides"
I'm on the fence with this. I don't want to miss out.Anyone buying at open or is there a concern that we'll drop right after the open?
Barely at all in that account. And I got no warnings of violations. I assumed the margin was covering that stuff. Were you messing with TVIX at the time? That erodes away you margin to nothing
What happens to existing stock when this happens? Just a price decrease?Re: CYDY Vote
Proposal(s)
1.
Approval of an increase in the total number of authorized shares of common stock to 800,000,000 shares.
2.
Adjournment of the Special Meeting.
You need to call them. I suspect you could get it waived or changed to a warning.Barely at all in that account. And I got no warnings of violations. I assumed the margin was covering that stuff.
This is like my wife dropping me off at the strip club, then yelling at me for looking at another woman's tittays
I’m trying to add more. I was all in at 6.50. Probably add half in at open and see what happens over first 20 minutes.Anyone buying at open or is there a concern that we'll drop right after the open?

Yes except its already been priced in and the money could be used to grow the business. What happens to existing stock when this happens? Just a price decrease?
Might not have any effect at all. It’s basically a way for the company to sell shares at the current price, but it becomes cash in hand so while shares are “diluted”, technically speaking the company’s value has just increased by that cash so it’s usually a net zero. This typically happens when the stock goes up a lot and the company wants to take advantage. They could also use some of those shares for compensation which pretty much does dilute. This matters way less IMHO than up listing and trial results. Those will drive the price not the additional shares. This 100M shares was a thing before this price run up so honestly it’s already baked in.What happens to existing stock when this happens? Just a price decrease?
I don't know if it is fair to say that it has been priced in (the actual issuance). Awareness of the potential for dilution is known and priced in. Result of the vote, how many shares actually issued, at what price, etc still TBDYes except its already been priced in and the money could be used to grow the business.
I doubt I have more 5-10% of my account in shorts and never more than that much of my margin balance. I play that account pretty straight, which is why its only of 20% this year. You need to call them. I suspect you could get it waived or changed to a warning.
I do know that if you have leveraged assets in your account the margin gets gobbled right up. I can't short in my account, but I believe you are sitting on some short positions.
I’m pretty sure @chet is just picking those up.Re: CYDY Vote

Let us know what you decide. I'm voting how you vote.In terms of the vote, I am initially inclined to vote no. They haven't given any specific reasons for the increase and to me, it seems likely that they will pay themselves in stock. I am all for executives getting rich but I think they should do it more by increasing the stock price rather than paying themselves stock bonuses.
We have just about a month to decide.
You may need to stop listening to Edgar Winter sing Free Ride for a while...oops
In at 6.85 at the open, couldn't get out at 7.00. This is the one stock that I can't get right trading.Hit $7 and seems to be just hanging around. Can't believe I am disappointed with a 12% open.
Wait, you bought in at 6.85 and tried to sell at 7?In at 6.85 at the open, couldn't get out at 7.00. This is the one stock that I can't get right trading.
