I'm beginning to think that no one on Wall St. gives a rats az about steel / alum tariff ... or trade wars.

I put in a low-ball order in for more AMZN ... hoping it would come back down some. Probably not gonna happen.

Might need to bite the bullet and pay the going rate before it goes even higher.

I concur.  Went heavy on SDOW call options earlier in the week and after a slight gain (where I could have sold but didn't) they've done nothing but #### the bed.  Bouncing back some now, I think I may just hope they hit the breakeven and dump them for no gain.

These are the best tariffs you've ever seen, the markets love them, they're going to be YUGGGEEEE!!!

From Twitter:

Trump: "We will not place any new tax [tariff] on product made in the US, so there's no tax if a product is made in the USA. You don't want to pay tax, bring your plant to the USA. There's no tax." (Who imports steel without producing things domestically? Is everyone exempt?)

Trump clearly doesn't know about my warehouses full of cobalt I've been stockpiling.  But seriously, this guy just does stuff for his base or what? Is this legit, if so nobody will pay anything and we can continue on business as usual.

I think he was talking about the steel and aluminum specifically, not just having business operations here.

I interpret that as steel made in the US.

I dont use automated orders often, but I have never had a problem. I set one for TVIX (which I had set one for in the past with zero issues) that if the bid got below 7.55 it would sell my shares with a limit of 7.32. I picked GTC+EXT which has always included pre market and after hours. It traded below 7.55 and above 7.32 pretty much all pre market. Never triggered the order. I have double and triple checked the settings now and I cant for the life of me figure out why it didn't sell my shares.

Stops only work during market hours.

Then why does it give a choice even for extended hours?
No idea who your broker is or what the interface is, but if you are talking about stocks specifically, the stop order will only trigger during market hours 930am-4pm... I'm pretty sure of this, but give them a call to confirm.

This is why I left etrade. Back when I would actively trade similar thing happened to me. I called to birch and they pointed me to fine print that says you can pound sand if extended hour stuff doesnt work.
Had a similar issue with Options Xpress (Schwab) - thought something was executed, even showed up in my account, it was an error on their end. 12 oil contracts at 44 cents difference... I was furious, they offered me free trades, I told them to eat a ####.

Tough getting funds back from a broker.

I have zero illusions of getting anything back. Just annoyed. Getting even more annoyed with these poop flavored lollipops they keep transfering me around to.

Maybe no one wanted to buy that craap.

After waiting days for the big "trade war" market drop to get me a deal on more AMZN ... I'm throwing in the towel. Paid market price for 20 shares today.

Sitting on my hands was costing me $$$ ... this stock is ridiculous. Can it keep climbing like this every day?

I did hold back some in the event it should come down again ... but I don't see that happening.

Why wouldn't they? Every time someone like Cohn leaves it's another chance for some suit from Goldman Sachs to take a job on the inside.
I'm not saying they shouldn't, but rso many of these guys have made public remarks against him, yet I'd bet if we were to have an election this year, 2/3 of them would vote for him, even though they dislike the person. Greed and hypocrisy is all I'm saying.

Props to TD Ameritrade. They can't figure out why it didnt trigger. It should have, they agree. The order has two dates associated with it for some reason, almost like it was somehow entered back in time. So they processed the order as a market order and issued me a credit for the difference in price.I was fully expecting some BS explanation and maybe a few free trades at best.

I think I found the next big medical device winner: NVCR

Picked up 50 shares today just to get my foot in the door.

Don't want to turn this into a political discussion ... people want to complain about Trump but the economy seems to be the best it's ever been.

I wouldn't be shocked if he is re-elected in 3 years. My portfolio isn't complaining.

I did something pretty stupid today... After reviewing, we just made it past all the risks, not really on tariffs, but inflation which is the biggest fear.

I took a position in something I'm not a huge believer in (not the product, the valuation), but the market has proved me wrong over and over... Furthermore, tariffs won't have a big effect on either.

TSLA, $325.75  :lmao:

NFLX, $326.18 - big position swing trade for me.

2k by EOY.
I'm considering blowing the rest of my wad on this AMZN.

Fine, I'm in for 50 shares of NFLX.

Now I'm diversified.

Bought some more TVIX today, :lmao: .  Now in for 2800 shares at $7.87.   Everything is wonderful, everything is great, the stock market does nothing but go up.  This is a GREAT sign for the rest of you.

I'm at the point where I just want to put everything and margin in FANGM (FB, APPL, AMZM, NFLX, GOOG, MSFT) and forget about it.  This run is getting ridiculous.

Man I rebalanced all my long term stuff, don't have anything major going long term until July and not a single holding has a loss I can harvest.

Bull market problems.
