Stock Thread (34 Viewers)

An impossible and unfair question to ask, IMO.  Guy's already delivered a 4-to-10 bagger in here.  Let your own imagination do the rest.  Chet needs a vacation, like Rodman in episode 3 of the Last Dance.
To be clear I fully understood the type of question I asked, which is why I had all the qualifier statements in there.  Chet owes me/us nothing, imo he’s done an amazing service to us all.  I’m a complete noob with stocks, he’s obviously done very well in life and is very experienced with trading stocks.  I was just looking for his headspace on this thing.  Nothing more nothing less.

Given chet's involvement with a company that does business with CYDY, he can't just lay a target number out there. That could be regarded as somewhere between unseemly and unlawful.

Done.  It's the least I could do.  "Leron Lagoon" has a nice flow, but I'm sure the clever folks here can come up with some good "chet" names.
My last hijack on this.  The pond will only be 1-2 acres of a total 4-5 acre wetland & marsh.  So I'm thinking...  "Leron Lagoon" as part of the "Chetland Preserve"

All good, I drank a bottle of Rose last night and got mouthy.  I can hammer 10 IPAs and be relatively fine.  One bottle of Rose and I turn into a drunk sorority girl.

If you do not know what these are, do not tail. Even if you do, be careful. I'm playing with house money
Tailing TVIX with a 5% trailing stop loss so I don't accidentally lose my house while going to take a piss.

Listen to him because those, you really need to be ready to take a beat down fast. All it takes is the PPT to come out at the wrong time and say, free money for everyone.

But do you look at anything for your hunches?
Watch market charts closely all day, plus gold. I track cumulative totals of the three major indices. I track the VIX daily and historically,  I watch listen to all the news (which I do not put much faith in), exp. during earnings season and what's coming up (Lots of Blue chips reporting this week). Fed is always the freaking wild card.

Anyone else got extra cash sitting around but hesitant to put it into the market at these levels?  Is AMZN still a good bet or overvalued here?  Hard to sit and wait but don’t see many of the deals we had in the last few weeks.
Yes not sure what to do with it

I am setting my portfolio on fire and the tinder is International Paper.

IP has beaten earnings for 4 quarters in a row. Their Q1 Corona consensus is a paltry 44 cents. Earnings is 4/30/20. IP is a key component in the push to bring manufacturing back to the USA. Their supply chain is heavily USA and almost all North America. Their P/E is roughly 50% of the industry average. They are getting killed because of the business downturn (people aren't printing on Hammermill).

Have 2500 left for my 2020 Roth contribution. If IP has another flat/down day, may just skip buying shares and throw it into 5/1 35 calls.

Disclaimer: I'm an idiot who doesn't know what they're doing. I got lucky and am playing with house money. I've lost 30% on my foray into IP and am obviously throwing good money after bad.
Jeez I wish these had filled.

It's been better for the past month

Lower YTD.
Yeah, it has been awful until recently.

Nice to see some upside follow-through from companies other than those 5 to 10 that dominate the S&P and will take over the world after picking up the pieces.  And CytoDyn of course.

Reverse Split for USO Shares

United States Oil Fund, LP (USO) has announced a 1-for-8 reverse split effective Wednesday, April 29, meaning shareholders will receive one share of (new) USO common stock for every eight shares they currently own. The stock price will increase to eight times its value at the April 28 close, so shareholder net positions at market open April 29 will be the same as before the split, plus or minus market movements. The deliverable on USO options contracts will be 12.5 shares instead of 100.

Jumped back on FRO
It's about where I bought it a few weeks ago, with maddening moves along the way. The last couple of days it's gapped up huge at the open, only to sell off by 10%+. I'm sure if I sold at the open to rebuy later it would end up doing the opposite. I know there's huge potential with these tankers as a play this year, but the price action scares the #### out of me.

yeah, I dumped them a week ago for a small loss, but this seemed like a good price to re-enter the fray

EAT might be making its move. Got a little at $16.90, shooting for $20-$22.
Jumped out at $19.40 this afternoon -- a little short of my target but didn't want to hold it through earnings. 14% in one day is good enough. :)

Any reason to pick FRO over others? I need to start sorting through some of these in the basket I hold. Some, like NAT, have been lights out. Others have been much slower. in terms of the Contango, Some of it has to do with preexisting long term contracts. Some has to do with their diversification. But I am sure there's more to the story. Curious.

Got a hunch again.

Loaded up on TVIX UVXY SPXS
Invested 39,000 and gained 646. I'll ride it out overnight and hope earnings are properly reported and we don't get another Fed bailout before tomorrow
