**Streaming Defense 2015** Week 15 - Playoffs: No time to get cute (1 Viewer)

More or less. Early weeks are always hit or miss. I went with Philly and they got me 12. 3 sacks, 3 turnovers. If Jenkins was faster, could have had a TD.

Yeah in one league i avoided all the flavorful pickups (ten, no) and picked up cincy despite their tough matchup and being ranked outside the top 12 everywhere. I always prefer home, good defenses with bad matchups. They were great. Might just stick with them.

Man - it's so hard to get this right. Ravens were nabbed off the wire - scored -5 in our scoring system. (thankfully I went against them). Bills were torched. Saints were lucky to get a few fumbles otherwise they sucked against TB. Teams that looked unstoppable the week before look like crap this week, and vice versa.

Panthers were disappointing (at least in my league's scoring system) week 2; if the Jets end up out-scoring them by more than a few pts, I think I'll break something. Oh well, on to week 3.

This was an extremely odd week, all the "crap" teams we like to pick on when streaming went off. The number of people wiped out of survivor pools was likely staggaring..

The most popular 4 picks this week in ESPN's Eliminator Challenge all lost: • Saints: 37% • Ravens: 16% • Dolphins: 14% • Rams: 8%

I'm still on board with NE this week (and apparently should have started them over all my other streaming options). I'm assuming people are eyeing down ATL at DAL next week?

In my dynasty league I'm considering trading a 1st round pick next season for the Broncos to pair with the Rams. Denvers defense is averaging 30 points per game. They are right up there with Gronk in this scoring system. So, while this is a very unorthodox move, I think it could pay huge dividends. The schedule would be:

DEN @ DET

DEN vs MIN

DEN @ OAK

DEN @ CLE

STL vs CLE

STL vs SF

STL @ MIN

STL vs CHI

DEN @ CHI

STL @ CIN

STL vs ARZ or DEN @ SD

STL vs DET or DEN vs OAK

STL vs TB

DEN vs CIN

I am sticking with Carolina. Hopefully Kuechly is back and the Saints will be without Brees. (Also playing at home)

Ravens killed me, lost my game in a tie. Somehow I missed Arizona not being owned, maybe they got dropped late as I could swear I never saw them. I started them in another league (have AZ/NE with a decent combined schedule). Easily would have won, so not happy with streaming so far.

Maybe I should just stick w/ the Jets except when they play Patriots.
Normally I'd say not against the Eagles but they were awful. Probably a great play for turnovers.
Couldn't you see streamers/suicide pools loading up on Jets next week and suddenly the Eagles get their stuff together?
Absolutely. I'm an Eagles fan so I'm pretty emotional with my responses on them. They looked about as bad as I've seen them in 20 years yesterday. If they have any pride, they get their #### together next week.

Options are looking pretty barren for next week:

Indy vs Tenn

NYG vs Wash

Wash @ NYG

Cle vs Oak

Pitt vs STL

SD @ Minn

Atl @ Dal

Might have to go Atlanta. I hate picking a bad D based solely on the matchup, but that's the only one that even looks remotely palatable. I feel like Washington could be the trendy pick this week, but I'm not buying it. They're not good and you never know which Eli will show up.

Luckily i drafted KC the last round. Might just ride them for the year until they play bad. They got 11 points both weeks now. I almost lost this week streaming Tenn over them thinking the matchup was great. Ended up winning by 2 points because of that Gore fumble tonight.

I finally had to pick up a defense, so I'm rolling with Indy given the soft starting schedule.
But is Indy a good defense? Just because they play weak opponents doesn't necessarily translate into fantasy success.
Is any defense a good defense when you're talking about streaming weekly defenses? The Seattles, the St. Louis', the Jets of the world are always going to be owned and not available for streaming. The whole idea of streaming is not wasting a draft pick on a defense so you can try and play matchups that more often than not (hopefully) workout and you can get similar point production from your weekly defenses as somebody who spent a late mid-round pick on a top defense.
Are the Jets really a top defense?
10 takeaways and only 17 points scored against in two games? Abusing Andrew Luck on MNF in his house? I stand by what I said. ;) And if "Go Birds" has anything to do with the Eagles - You're next!

Well, I almost lost because I went for the Saints (lost out on the Ravens) because I was afraid of the Jets D facing Luck. I'm a believer. Cromartie covered much better tonight, have Revis and were relentless with the blitzing. Love Todd's style...Be aggressive man..

Totally agree on your stance on Washington, and I actually think the Giants may be a sleeper D to consider at home. And while Pitt looks tempting, out of all the Ds on your list, agree that Atlanta might be the safest.

I like CLE or ATL.

Surprisingly, the Falcons D has looked leaps and bounds better than they did last year even if their Fantasy production doesnt show it. I think a Romo and Dez-less Dallas is promising. But of course, after 2 weeks, it seems everything I thought I knew about Fantasy football was wrong (Except that Gronk is a man among boys, but that will never change.)

Panthers could be really nice if Brees is a no go. Maybe even still fine if Brees goes since the Saints traditionally don't play well away from home.

If I have to stream, this is what I look for as well. In addition to a home game, I also try to get one with a low point line. And if you really are lucky, get an east coast defense facing a traveling west coast team for a 1:00 game. Historically, the traveling team does not fair well.

I'm looking at the Jets
Well yea if they're available. But this is a jekyl Hyde moment. Jets defense is #1 right now. They're riding high off a big MNF win but they have a short week and had to travel after the game last night. They face an Eagles team that was absolutely embarrassed Sunday but has shown its capable of big numbers in previous years. This might be one of those ebb and flow games.Point is this game is screaming play the Jets but there's a lot of intangible risk sitting there.

Sure, but with how they look, they could end up being so good that you can abandon the idea of streaming and just stick with them all year.

Other than when they play the Pats of course.

This is sort of how I feel as well but I'm still going after the Jets and completely preparing for a letdown week. That's the way the NFL is with all the parity.

Feels wrong even saying it in this thread but DEN are on the WW so will be using my priority ( re-sets every week ) on them, although I'm aware they won't be available to any Americans on this site as the guys in your leagues tend to know what the hell they are doing.

Denver only 57% owned on Yahoo. Probably people dropped them for the TNF game thinking the short week would hurt them. Gobble them up where you can.
