**Streaming Defense** Weeks 14-16 FF Playoffs (4 Viewers)

I also like the Jets call.  SEA so far has underperformed and Wilson has two lower body injuries which limit his mobility.  Also, Jets are coming off an ### kicking at the hands of the Cheifs and are at home.  Plus, the Jets D only gave up 17 offensive points to KC on the road while their O turned it over 6 times. I like the Jets to bounce back here.

Starting 49ers defense. Dez is out and SF plays tuff at home.
I picked them up in one league for the very same reasons, but somewhat concerned about perhaps the lack of turnovers.

Indy with the oline banged up and 3 rookies starting is kind of tempting.

Technically the defense only gave up one td. The Chiefs scored 24 pts and 14 were from the defense/special teams.

Pittsburgh worth a shot?
I wouldn't trust them after last week in philly.  R. Shazier is out today and a bunch of their secondary is banged up.  At best the Steelers are a bend-but-dont-break real life defense.  At worst you saw that last week in philly.  Either way, since they arent generating sacks and turnovers, i would look elsewhere.

Did anybody roll with the Jags? Saints had 3 TOs & 3 sacks, Falcons got a DT TD.

I'm going to drop my WR6, pick up the Titans, and pair them the Jets as both have several good matchups ROS.

Pretty much abandoning the Streaming DST at this point. What a disaster.

So a couple of things. Grab Philly where you can. With the bye maybe people will hesitate to scoop them up.

For this week, there's 2 plays I'm seeing as the only real options. Both are risky but could play out big.

Buffalo at New England. NE will either have a hurt Jimmy G going back under center or picking up a FA to throw to the wolves. Either way, they will be extremely limited. Unless Hoodie has some more voodoo, the offense will be the least explosive they've been in years.  Buffalo is showing as only 38% owned on Yahoo.

The other play is NYJets vs Seahawks.  A lot may be thinking Seattle is back but they just tunes up the Patented Chip Kelly "we don't need no stinkin" defense. Now they may have worked some kinks out but they were pretty terrible weeks 1 & 2. I think they fall somewhere in the middle this week and are flying all the way East on top of it. Expect a let down after an emotional division win over one of Carroll's most hated foes. Jets defense has quietly amassed 9 sacks in 3 games. Don't expect a monster game but it should get you through the week with a double digit total.

Thats all I can see for the week fellas. Every one else is a crappy team with a mediocre matchup. Some may blow out but I can't guess which one.
Buffalo good! Jets, not so much.  Luckily I grabbed Buffalo and played against the guy that had the Jets.

Keeping Buff and Philly for the year.  That may work or injuries could change this by week 6. Who knows.

I went with tge jags And that was before i Knew the colts were starting 3 rookie lineman. Seems like colts may be good to stream against for the near future.

So ####### happy I was able to pickup the Iggles because of Gordon's ####### mistake.

Done worrying about which D to start.

Goodbye KC. Hello Philly!

Picked up Pats last week for what seemed like a reasonable run - BUF and now CLE. Didn't work so well this week, but with Brady returning I reckon things will improve.

Have Minny and just picked up Philly.  Which one should I keep for the home stretch?  Had to cut Dixon to do it, but with how West played yesterday figure I may be safe for a week or so.

Minn.   I wanted to draft them this year, but thought I could wait until after their tough early schedule. What a mistake. Just keep riding that train.

So hang onto Philly through the Minn bye then cut bait or try to trade?
You'll only need Philly for week 6, so only two more weeks. I would look to trade Philly now if you can get something decent in return and use a WW team for week 6. If not, hold for 2 weeks and then see if you trade for something in week 7 (but they could lose value by then).   I would have probably have kept Dixon. I would think that he would have more value than a defense. Who knows, maybe West holds on to the job.

The funny thing is that it showed Philly D on waivers, so I thought I was putting in a claim which would give me time to think about it.  For some reason it went right through and processed it.  I did have some immediate buyer's remorse (even though I wasn't trying to really buy), hence the mental justification about West's solid day yesterday.

Bills have been quietly amassing a good total points record. LA up this week as well which could be a nice matchup for them.

I have Buff and Philly now. Buffalo is the play stat wise going against a terrible LA offense.  But I'm rolling Philly. Schwartz going back to Detroit yet again to stick it to his old team. He went back once in 2014 with Buffalo. You have to think he has a little extra juice this week.

Carried off the field.

You would think these guys have a little bit of pride, but naw.

I play in one league where there are no waivers, ever.  First come first serve FA all the time.  Stupid rules, I know, but it's a friends fun league...

Good news:  Someone ended up dropping Philly about 2 hours before games started this past weekend

Bad news: I wasn't the first to notice it, so I missed out.

Semi-good news:  The person that picked them up dropped the Rams to do it, and I was able to grab them.

Bad news:  it wasn't until after the games had started, so I had to use the Jets (6 points) and missed out on using the Rams (20 points).  Gonna roll with the Rams for the forseeable future and say screw streaming

Good news:  still won this week anyway

Have to set my waiver priorities tonight and here's who is available:

* PIT vs NYJ -- Not sure PIT D is as good as what we saw against KC, but they are at home against turnover machine Fitz. Could see NYJ righting the ship a bit and scoring some points though.

* BUF @LA -- Buffalo D, outside of that miserable matchup in primetime against the NYJ, have looked solid. Not that impressed with game against NE since Bill B. was running a high school offense Sunday. LA obviously no juggernaut on offense, but LA always seems to play better at home and Buffalo traveling west. Feels like a trap.

* LA vs BUF -- The flip side. LA plays great at home. Keenum playing much better. Buffalo doesn't really turn the ball over though. Pretty good taking care of the ball.

* GB vs NYG -- GB is #1 against the run (significantly so vs others) and should be getting healthy on pass D. At home. Could see Manning rebounding a bit, but could also see some turnovers.

Right now ranking LA, BUF, PIT, GB.

Who do you think this information helps here?

Would you guys keep Pitt D going against NYJ the turnover machines or grab Eagles D and ride them?

Starting the PIT defense is not a bad play.

But I think what Insein is getting at, is when you get the chance to pick up an apparent top 5 defense and can avoid streaming, then you roll with that.

Philly is looking like a must start defense (from what we've seen thusfar), until further notice.

Point is, if you don't grab them now, you may not get them later on.

I made the mistake of waiting one day too long to pick them up in two leagues, and it cost me ownership in both.   :wall:

Are the Eagles a rest of season play regardless of matchup at this point?

I think its a little hard to say at this point. Notice they played Cleveland and Chicago the first two weeks.

Not exactly point exploding powerhouses, but also note they kept PITT in check too.

That may well be one of those "one off" games, but at least for now, you have to go with the "Philly is elite at defense" thought train.

They have played 3 weeks and the season is only so long.

I would think we know for sure in another two weeks or so, but then again, if I had 'em I would sure as Hell be rolling them out.

Unfortunately I had to jump on the Buffalo train.

I targeted Minnesota everywhere in the offseason, then got cold feet after week 1 thinking Green Bay would light them up and I dropped them in 2 leagues.

That has cost me big time, and then waiting to snatch Philly by a day or so nailed me again.    :wall:

Guess I will be a regular to this thread the rest-of-season.

go with NYJ, projected for 10.52 @ PIT

pick up MIA, projected for 8.02 v TEN

pick up TEN, projected for 8.35 @ MIA

TEN has been terrible and every DST so far has scored big against them, so MIA might be better than projected. I know MIA isn't a great DEF, but they did have good efforts against CLE (who hasn't?) and SEA.

NYJ is going up against PIT, who has been shredding with the exception of the PHI game, so i'm having my doubts by playing them

TEN is also available, and with MIA being equally bad, that might not be a bad play. BONUS - going with TEN also gives me a good stream v CLE next week.

thoughts?

TEN seems like the play here. If nothing else, they tend to have low scoring games since they run the ball a lot.

MIA cannot be trusted on either side of the ball right now.

Jets are going to get smoked at Heinz.

The Rams were on the WW for my one league this week, but they got scooped up before my pick was up.

I think I am going to go with the Dolphins this week. Mariota has had a turnover in every game this year and I believe he got beat up pretty badly by Miami last year.

Who does everyone like the rest of the season between Philly and NE?  Philly has already had their bye, but it looks like, at least according to my league's settings (and probably everyone else's), NE has a much better schedule ROS.

As an Eagles fan I don't really like PHI schedule going forward. They had 2 layups early then gave their game of the year. A tough stretch 10-13 but then some good home matchups during fantasy playoffs. @DET is an okay matchup (slight trap game risk) but NE @ CLE is much better of course. I would bet on NE playing with a chip on their shoulder.

I'm a Philly fan so take it FWIW but I'm planning on playing Philly for the rest of the year and I'd take them over NE. I think even in the tough matchups they will get enough sacks and turnovers to be solid. Also, who knows how good they really are. Sure, maybe it was just a down game for them but how often is Pittsburgh held to 3 points?

I own the Pats in another league and am content with them, but I think they are an average defense in the real world. I like them in fantasy to force some turnovers and score some points, but I'd rather have a dominant defense.

I'm considering (in multiple leagues where I stream defenses):

1. LA

2. Buffalo

3. Washington (god they're terrible on third downs and hard to trust, though)

I don't really like/trust Miami.  I also like Pittsburgh but I'm assuming they're already owned in most leagues.
