Anyone have any scoop on The Colony? 10 episodes on Netflix but I do not believe it is a Netflix original. We have cruised through the available episodes pretty quick. Not the best show I have seen but definitely would like to see it through.
USA Network series.

1st season was just OK, IMO. So far 2nd season is a bit better.

Santa Clarita Diet seems to be getting a lot of good reviews. Anyone here watch it yet?
Watched all 10 already. It hooked me. Loved Timothy Olyphant in Justified and he is so different in this. Not a huge Drew Barrymore fan, but she was good in this role. I really enjoyed it. 4.5/5 stars.

If you loved him in Justified you should check out Deadwood. Big fan of Deadwood, Justified in on my list to watch soon.

Drama, horror, war.
check out The Wailing...from the Horror Movie thread and courtesy of Scoresman:

The Wailing - Amazon Rental (ETA-now available on Netflix) - This is one to add to your watchlists.  A Korean movie about a village undergoing random deaths and illness after a suspicious Japanese man moves into town.  First off, this movie is in Korean and subtitled, AND it's 2.5 hours long so there's a bit of effort required here.  You will be rewarded for the effort, however.  Paraphrasing from an IMDB review that put it best, "by slowly unveiling the real nature of certain characters, the last 45 minutes of the movie will change your perspective on the whole thing. Every few minutes you will switch sides when trying to determine whom to trust and only when the big reveal comes do you realize how detailed the setup to get there was.".  This movie will stick with you, having you asking lots of questions about the characters and their motivations.  The characters are portrayed well, especially the dad and his daughter.  I put this on my best of 2016 list.

For those that have Amazon, they added all the Indiana Jones movies. Watching them with my son now.

They also added 13 Hours.

Ok, it's not Deadwood or BB or BSG reboot good, but Colony is worth watching.  It's a USA network series so obviously your expectations should be tempered going in, as mine were.  I downloaded and binged on a long business trip this week (mostly on the plane) and I liked it a lot.  Some of the characters' decision are frustrating but that is the only negative.  Even the kid actors are good.  I'm pretty excited for season 2 when it's available.

Seaon 2 is running currently. Should be able to watch it on USA reruns and maybe online. It started strangely but has picked up recently.

Yeah I will probably wait and binge when it's on Netflix.  Just don't have time to keep up with weekly series.

Put something in spoilers explaining it.  Just watched and was like whatever.  Long and boring... but it started pretty good.  End was zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I finished "the break".

It's a french/Belgium series. Pretty good. If you like suspense/mystery and some lesbian scenes here or there by chick's that look very French then it's definitely worth it. Good acting and writing. It's set in a small town in Belgium.

Would recommend

Made it 30 minutes into the first episode, and if not for my appreciation for the Tim Olyphant catalog, I would have turned it off after 15. Awful IMO.

so there is bush?

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean The Black Pearl with the kiddos.  Pretty good flick. Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush were really good.

The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story

We binge watched this on Netflix over the weekend. It deserves all the awards it's been receiving.

Other than David Schwimmer playing the role of a whiny 16 year old teen age girl playing the role of Robert Cardashian, and John Travolta playing the role of Norma Desmond playing the role of Robert Shapiro, all the acting was really great.  (oh and Cuba Gooding isn't going to win any awards either).

It was really depressing to relive the live broadcast of the verdict.

Finished Terra Nova, a one season show that was not (for good reason) renewed.  Had some potential, Land of the Lost meets The 100.  2.5/5

Started Frontier, mainly because I like aquaman as an actor (jason momoa).  1 episode in, pretty good.

Just watched Space Race - a BBC production about the America/Soviet Union race into space and to the Moon. Four one hourish episodes and all of them fantastic.

I was familiar with most of the U.S. side of it but a lot of the Soviet side I'd never heard about before was really interesting.

The Killing.

Came up as a suggestion from Netflix . Several years old and no longer running I believe but it has four seasons. Wife and I binged the first season in a little over a week.

Pretty good but lots of twists and turns that are pretty far out there. We are in to at least start season 2.

Watched this a long time ago, one thing that always comes to mind when I think of that series is how much the Holder character rubbed me the wrong way at first but after season one - he became one of my all time favorite TV characters.

After pretty much not watching TV for most of the last 10 years or so (Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley are pretty much the only exceptions), for some reason over the past few weeks I've been really into binge watching shows.  Here's what I've gone through so far (not all of these are Netflix but whatever):

  • Westworld (watched it twice through, loved it)
  • Sherlock (flawed, but I really enjoyed it)
  • Black Mirror (a few misses but mostly very good)
  • The OA (love/hate relationship - it was so dumb but I couldn't stop watching it)
  • 3% (not great but not too bad)
  • Stranger Things (loved it)
  • Started watching Travelers but gave up after episode 2 I think.  The premise sounded up my alley but something about it I just didn't like.
  • Currently almost done with Mr. Robot (love it so far)
Any obvious recommendations to watch next?

I would agree that we did not care for him after season 1. We start season 2 tonight, so we will see.

Sense8

Made it through the puke scene before pulling the plug. So, 5ish minutes?
It came on after something I lost attention with a few days ago, because Netflix will just put something on you don't want to watch, but asks you constantly if you want to keep watching what you selected to view.  Noticed a Andy Richter's voice and saw a few actors I  recognized, like Malcolm Reynolds and sort of started paying attention.  Then the puke happened... and he finds her in the bathroom and sits down and holds her head and I say out loud, ''What the ####''... and then the dad guy says ''What the ####'' and I  laughed and watched more.  I thought it was funny.  The weed jokes landed here.  I can see how some would think it's dumb though.
