worth watching. I'm not saying it's great...but it's worth watching.Snowpiercer is odd. It's like a Korean style Hunger Games meets Wizard of Oz.
So it's not good and it's not on Netflix. Well done. The After (Amazon only and just one episode made so far)
Has some possibilities, but the pilot was filled with bad cliches, awful stereotypes and just bad writing.
If they ever made another one, maybe I would watch, but a very short leash
I had seen an episode or two of this show each season. Decided to dive in. Half way through season 4 now. I like it. Fun ride even though I kind of know the highlights of each season.Season 9 of Supernatural added![]()
Just binged through 3 episodes of season 2 last night. Still can't understand a lot of the lines, but Sam Neill is having a big time playing his part.Season 2 of the Peaky Blinders is streaming now, I'm 2 episodes in to this season and so far the guy playing Arthur has been unreal.
I'm a secret DVD subscriber as well. Occasionally, there is a movie the kids want or I want to see that isn't on streaming. For me, it's still worth having that one disc option over trying to find it at Redbox.I guess I should banish myself from this thread. I buckled under and added the DVD option to my netflix account. The movie selection was too poor with the streaming. Looks like their devious plan to double their revenue from me worked.

We have them too. Anything remotely recent takes forever. Just reserved "Chef" - 56 reservations for 8 copies. There will be a Jon Favreau memorial on the Biography channel before I'll see this.My local public library system has dvd rentals for one week. I'm starting to get the hang of it. I use both also. DVDs for new releases and streaming for older stuff that I missed, tv shows, and docs.I'm a secret DVD subscriber as well. Just got done watching it. Not your movie if you are looking for "action" but I am loving this - lots of good, very dry humor. It also reminds me a lot of the small, midwestern hometown area and relationships. Spent several holidays watching my dad and his brothers interact (or barely) just like in the movie.I found it terribly slow and boring. Will Nebraska be worth watching?
I watched this tonight. It's strange and creepy. Like Cronenberg meets the original "Wicker Man" maybe. It's one of those rare movies for me that I had no idea what was going to happen, where it was going. 4 out of 5 stars.Streaming on Netflixanyone seen "Kill List"?If you are looking for a decent Horror flick check out The Taking of Deborah Logan
it's not streaming but whatever.
I liked it quite a bit. I'd also recommend Bletchley Circle to the mix. The first season was really very good and only a 6 episode run. Exile, another BBC show, was good and only 3-4 episodes maybe. I've just started Hinterland and liked the 1st episode quite a bit.Adding my endorsement for "Happy Valley". Only 6 episodes, so it's a nice quick binge watch on the weekend.
It's my guilty pleasure. Been a fun ride watching the plot progress...I had seen an episode or two of this show each season. Decided to dive in. Half way through season 4 now. I like it. Fun ride even though I kind of know the highlights of each season.Season 9 of Supernatural added![]()
Girlfriend and I are hooked on this show. Thought after one episode it was going to be more of a guilty pleasure type show but it's actually awesome, if you can get past the CW romance angles that are forced in occasionally (though some do work).El Floppo said:Why haven't I been in this thread? Now I know where some of you guys from the Video thread are lurking- I SEE YOU.
Not even sure if this is the right place for it, but I think it's on Netflix (and on Demand as well)...
Anybody watching The 100?
It's got some brutally bad Gossip girlish teenage nonsense at the center of the plot- but the rest is like they mashed up BSG (with some of the same actors- and likely same production designers- it looks great), The Postman and Mad Max (minus the cars). Part way into season 2 and I ####### love it. If you're into the whole post-apocalyptic thing, with a WTF is really going on subtext- you'll like this.
I've been watching this since the beginning and while some seasons are definitely stronger than others, the shows chemistry between the main characters and the "we don't take ourselves too seriously" writing keeps me watching. It's my guilty pleasure. "Wentworth is an Australian television drama series"
kind of similar to Orange is the new black but darker, less funny. not quite recommending yetbut so far so good

I'm way behind on this but watched the first 3-4 episodes this weekend since it was a holidy and I had some extra free time. Pretty darn good, looking forward to catching up on it.Lilyhammer starts in two days![]()

I try as often as possible to avoid binge watching the shows I like. But now that I'm finally sinking my teeth into Sons of Anarchy, that's proving difficult.I'm way behind on this but watched the first 3-4 episodes this weekend since it was a holidy and I had some extra free time. I have read several books on Whitey and his crew and still learned several new things. Loved it.On The Rocks said:"The United States v. Whitey Bulger" is a great watch.
I don't know who was more cold blooded; the FBI, the prosecution, the defense team, or Whitey himself.
The interviews with victim family members were sometimes pretty intense.

he's a guy that i really enjoy seeing perform. he's never quite broken through.Peaky Blinders is very solid. 7.5/10.
It's a star turn for Cillian Murphy. Would be surprised if his career doesnt go to another level.
I couldn't make it through the first episode. It gets better?Peaky Blinders is very solid. 7.5/10.

I concur. I was looking for something to casually pass the time before football on Sunday with the intent of turning it off if it didn't grab my attention. Ended up enjoying it quite a bit."The United States v. Whitey Bulger" is a great watch.

I liked the first episode and it also gets better as the show moves along. But if you bailed on first episode I don't see the show growing on you.I couldn't make it through the first episode. It gets better?Peaky Blinders is very solid. 7.5/10.
