Probably already listed in this thread somewhere but what is the best website that list the latest shows and movies that are coming out on demand?
Any classic movies from yesteryear that someone can recommend? I especially liked the old classic westerns and war movies.

It's pretty slim pickings for classic westerns on Netflix Instant. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Shane, High Noon, Lonesome Dove and Once Upon a Time in the West is a decent starting five but that's about it.
There used to be a better selection of spaghetti westerns a couple of years ago and maybe they'll turn up again.

Anyone gotten into Turn...Washington's Spies? Season 1, two episodes in and it's pretty decent.

How historically accurate is it? I'm sure it's not completely accurate, but do they simply make up characters very important to plot lines of the story that simply never existed?

Really enjoyed Season 1.. and if the premiere for season 2 is any indication it is going to be an enjoyable show again this year..
As for characters.. As far as I can tell they have stayed pretty true to "major" characters.. The premiere introduced Benedict Arnold, Charles Lee and are currently working on the France alliance that happens later.
Not sure how "true" they are staying to the spies themselves as I don't have a lot of knowledge on that aspect..
But overall it is a very enjoyable show to watch with my daughter.

Gave this a try....i'm conflicted.
i am interested in it and feel like I want to watch it but when I do, I feel like I am watching a cheesy novella.

Documentary on the career of entertainment agent Shep Gordon.
All I could think was that I was watching a real life version of Forrest Gump - in that every five minutes they introduced another star from the entertainment industry that he had either worked with or was close friends with.
I liked it. Worth the watch.

Pretty much spot on, if you can get past the fact that Patrick Henry's best friend is a talking dog from outer space. He was actually the one who gave him that snappy line.

I don't think there will be á second season. There are 3 other origin story marvel shows coming, Then they all team together in The Defenders. No idea if they'll do individual shows again afterwards.

If you like soap opera type plotlines ...extreme violence and lots of gratuitous sex then Spartacus is for you...personally my GF and I loved it

watched it last night.
overall, ok. I'm more of a fan of this genre when there's a psychological component to it- which this one had... at least until the end (see spoiler). seemed to borrow a bit from The Shining, minus the third party keeping things in check... relatively.
I really liked guessing at whether the mom was just going crazy or not. it seems like the end has the babadook as an actual entity, rather than a figment of her mind- but I'm open to interpretations (since she's the one feeding it worms, maybe it's still in her mind?... but that discounts the boy being dragged up the stairs by the invisible force and banged around). I definitely would've preferred the crazy angle rather than the malevolent creature one. we had an idea that she was the one actually writing the book- and would have preferred that.

Ok- so Daredevil... does it somehow transcend into something more than the first episode? It's basically an R rated version... although I didn't see any boobs. Based on the love in here, I was thinking this was going to be something more than... Daredevil. (I understand- it's a comic book.. I used to even collect it- just trying to see if it's more since wife and I aren't all that into comic book shows/movies).

i know what you mean. i wasn't bowled over by it either but it earned at least a 2nd episode from me. it's a step above the Fox and CW-style superhero/special/meta but not by much.

I thought the first episode was okay. It got better for me in episodes 2 and 3. So far I think this is a 7/10. But I'm only in the middle of the series.
I'm not sure how to answer your question about it transcending into something more. It did get better for me at least, but I don't know that it transcended anything.

Season 2 is by no means off the table. In fact, most followers of this type of thing anticipate an announcement at any time. I know the showrunner has said he hopes there is a 2nd season and has already discussed some possible season 2 storylines/characters (Elektra, Bullseye).(HULK) said:

It's a show about a comic. Period. DareDevil comics are some of the best Marvel has put out, but it's still comics. Why on earth would you expect it to be more than DareDevil?

In Floppo's defense, I've seen several comments elsewhere and maybe also here from people who say they don't usually go for the Avengers/X-Men type comic book stuff, but that they liked this series. That's what convinced me to give it a try.

It's nothing like Avengers or X-Men, nor is the comic though. DD is similar in feel to Batman, typically dark and gritty, IMO.

Question on Daredevil - this is in the same "universe" as the Avengers and such, correct? The events taking place in the show are suppose to be after what happened in the Avengers movie? To fully get the plot, is there anything that should be known or understood from any other shows or movies beforehand?

I haven't encountered anything yet...there is a reference to what happened in the Avengers but that's it so far.

thanks. exactly so- people were going nuts over this in here, which is why on earth I expected it to be more than Daredevil. I watched an ep, and asked if there was something more than just comic-book fare since wife and I aren't fans... doesn't sound like there is. seemed pretty straight forward from what I wrote originally.

Ah, the Batman comp helps. I think those of us who know nothing about comics and generally dismiss movies/TV shows based on them are basically just asking if this just people with crazy superpowers chasing around some powerful force that threatens to destroy the universe, or is there more depth to it? Seems like Daredevil is the latter. I like the fact that it seems like his non-superhero persona seems like it will be a prominent part of the show.

I buy the comparison to Batman in overall feel. That said- he's a blind dude with super powers... so yeah... he could be an Xman or Avenger.
I'm pretty sure I still have a bunch of issues from when Frank Miller... came back from a hiatus? IIRC, right around Elektra either being introduced, dying or resurrected? it was a long time ago, and I was never really a fanboy.

I wonder if this means that Netflix will also have the original series available on Netflix to build momentum for this sequel? I'm very "meh" on those old family shows, but I'd rather my kids watch Full House, Family Matters, etc than alot of the stuff out there nowadays.
