Might have to go back and watch Broadchurch as I made the "bad" decision to watch the US version first and so when I started watching the "UK" version I felt I already watched this and couldn't get into it.

Making of a Murderer is fantastic... I am about 7 episodes in and have no idea what to believe. The only thing I do know is that some of the lawyers and law enforcement officers seemed to be completely incompetent.

Agree, 3 episodes in and it is an amazing story that I never heard about before. I tend to like non-fiction more than fiction so it made it even more interesting to me.

In the middle of episode 2. Totally hooked. Its like Serial season 1.

Ended up wasting my entire Sunday and watched the whole thing. Very sad case. Great show - though it does get bogged down a little in the trials in the middle. But still highly recommend.

And - once again - NEVER TALK TO COPS. Except to say, "Lawyer."

Just watched "A Very Murray Christmas". Meh. Kind of fell flat to me. I was expecting a cheesy tribute to the old holiday variety specials, which I guess it was, but I don't think I have a suffficiently hip sense of irony to have fully appreciated it. Songs were good though. Enjoyed David Johansen leading the group on "Fairytale of New York". Maya Rudolph was pretty outstanding too.

Put the Very Very Sad Murray Christmas special on. So many celebrities and such a waste of time. Had it on while we were cooking and it sounded like a bunch of bad lounge act singing, maybe that was the point but it really wasn't good. Even at being a satire of bad specials Ii think it still failed. When it finished we had finished dinner and were eager to find something else to watch. PBS had a smorgasbord of x-mas stuff from the MTC/Sesame Street special to the Irish singers, lots of good stuff to run in the background while drinking copious amounts of booze.

Watched all of S1 today (this is my 4th day off of the year, using it wisely and doing absolutely nothing).

Really good show. It's been awhile since I've seen Happy Valley, The Fall, and the show with Elizabeth Moss, but obviously it's quite similar (does every damn British show start with a dead body?).

You're the Worst fans will find Jodie Whittaker looks very familiar.

There's a pretty good spoiler thread available in the FFA. Just a warning that they post where this is all headed. It's a real life story, so there's no secret as to what the final (to this point) outcome was.

I'm on E4 as well, and I'm so frustrated (in a good way) with the show that I needed to take a break.

I'm astonished that the people of Manitowac County haven't risen up and demanded some resignations. At best their public officials featured in this documentary are incompetent, corrupt, and just plain sleazy.

Peep Show is a crappy name for it, but I guess it because of the 1st person camera thing they do. It's kind of unique and makes for some interesting cinematography moments.

I'm about 5 episodes into the first season and love it so far. Thanks for the rec.

No it really didn't wrap up. Frankly I think it is vastly overrated. It starts out like gangbusters but it just goes all over the map after season one. IIRC there was a push from the studio to reveal the killer, which Lynch was wisely opposed to, then a production mistake (dude in the mirror) sent everything off the rails, plowing through the guard rail, catching fire, careening into the canyon with everyone on board screaming before the impact and subsequent explosion mercifully killed them all. Then their burnt corpses were infected by some alien zombie virus called Fire Walk With Me, reanimated (and not in the cool Re-Animator way) and they started the apocalypse that ultimately ended with our sun going super nova triggering a chain reaction that devoured the entire universe.

Other than that most of the first season is awesome.

If you have not gotten around to watching this masterpiece spaghetti western by Sergio Leone you are truly missing out. It stars Charles Bronson, Peter Fonda, Jason Robards, it will get you wanting to see The Hateful Eight which is out in theaters right now. It's a great movie and you have like 48 hours to try and watch it, maybe less.

By far one of the very best films streaming on Netflix. If you like Westerns, you will flip for this one. Released in 1968 right as the genre was exploding, it is usually mentioned in the top5 of all time, top3 for many. This is not a John Wayne type film IMO.

The music is amazing and the same musical director at the ripe age of 87 just finished up work on The Hateful Eight with a full overture.

Great flick and, like everyone else, I love that Leone cast his characters counter to their typecasting. Plus Claudia Cardinale is just so very, very hot. Just like an energy efficient, clean-burning propane gas barbecue in the center of a freaking super nova!

The clip I posted prob isn't the best, it just happened when I was composing the post and I LOL'd and I had a feeling someone would have made a clip of it, so I searched it.

If you like awkward/cringe comedy and/or shows where you end up disliking every character (yet love them) give it a shot... each season is like 6 episodes and there's like 8 or 9 of them.

The two Lady Snowblood Japanese revenge flick classics avail at Hulu, don't think you need Plus (not sure how long it will be up beyond this week).

Coming out on Criterion soon, I've never seen them (just first few minutes), guessing extensive restoration work done, the prints are pristine and immaculate.

Heavy influence on Tarantino's Kill Bill, especially Part 1.
