Just finished up Luke Cage.. meh.. OK, but not a "Must see" series in my book

Loved Jessica Jones, but this one fell flat for me..

I think what I liked most about JJ was the "completion" of the story Arc so Season 2 will be "fresh" .. Luke Cage will be more of the same when season 2 rolls around so not as excited for season 2 as I am for JJ.
Yea I agree about Luke Cage. We stopped halfway through. I enjoyed both seasons of DD. Never even tried JJ, the notion of a woman superhero is just to unbelievable for me to even try it.

Just started watching Catastrophe (Amazon Prime).  First episode is incredibly funny -- others are still funny, but also dealing with serious stuff.  Recommend.
good show... new season starts sometime soon... maybe next month.

on the same note,  You're The Worst from FX is pretty similar except it's a English guy and American chick... same funny/serious kind of thing... probably not as good as Castastrophe, but only a notch or two below.

I'm a big fan of Catastrophe. It's clever, truly funny and with good pacing. "You're the Worst" got good buzz and I tried it. It didn't really click for me. I didn't much care for the two leads.

I liked it too. I know it's not a typical drama but the finale was pretty meh.
The show was pretty consistent from start to finish. Not really highs and lows, just telling the story. I didn't expect anything dramatic in the finale and thought it ended leaving me wanting more.

Season 2 is estimated to be out in November. Sounds like Lithgow might not be back, although I'm not sure how much of a story he had left still.

A few episodes into Hotel Beau Sejour... enough to keep me going. Has taken me this long to figure out that whacked out language is Belgian/Flemish.

Started "The Crown" finally. Two episodes into it and I like it. It's not bowling me over yet but I recognize that it is good. I will credit it for being pretty well cast but also the mechanics of good storytelling are there.

isn't the whole notion of superheroes "unbelievable" in the first place?

Just started Hell on Wheels.

Have liked the first two episodes. Does it maintain?
Wife and I both really liked it.  A few places it is kinda confusing/frustrating, but overall really well done Western.  Easy to root for the main character and root against the bad guys, and enough shades of gray to keep it interesting.

Does the first half of The Walking dead show up on Netflix in the spring or summer? Or does the whole season drop in the fall?

Started watching Iron Fist.  It's better than Cage by far and on par with Jessica Jones but below DD, IMO.  I'm only about 4 episodes in so far.  I'm getting pretty geeked up for The Defenders and can't wait for more Daredevil.

As for some of the comedy stand up stuff, I've become a big Mike Birbiglia fan.  Watched a couple of his standups on Netflix and he just nails it, IMO.  Consistently funny.

End was the suckiest bunch of suck that ever sucked.
This is the first show that I can remember in long time that actually made me angry.  Its like the writers were up against the clock and just threw the ending together.  Tons and tons of loose ends that just make no sense.

I'm re-watching the original Star Trek from the beginning. I haven't seen a full episode in 20+ years and am loving seeing them all over again. Thanks to downloadable on Netflix now, it's become my entertainment on the bus/subway to and from work.

Late to the party, but my wife and I are midway through S2 or Broadchurch and I am loving it.  While the storylines of the actual crimes aren't the most compelling, I find the acting on average to be top notch (Miller, to me, is particularly excellent), and the dialogue to be refreshingly realistic.
