thinking about it since watching it this AM - it will likely be the best 30 minutes of tv you get todayTwo Distant Strangers
30 minutes, 1 episode
time loop about a young black man and police violence
Very well done
We wrapped this up. I think the writing and acting elevated relative to A1, but the overall plot arcs were less grand or interesting, imo.2 eps in and it's more melodrama than last season. So far not fitting on all cylinders.S2 of Apple TVs For All Mankind is out. Genuinely enjoyed the first season- mix of space race history facts and alt-history science-fiction.
Very good show.Started The Expanse and it seems like it could be good. I’ve heard good things.
We watched the 1st ep of The Serpent last night, I think on Netflix.
Not sure I'm in the right mindset for this kind of thing about terrible people.
Wife and I like it but I'm generally shuked at the timing jumps. It's certainly not linear. We started The Serpent, but bailed after 2 episodes. It just didn’t interest us.
I watched the 1st episode and thought it was boring and unfunny. Thanks to everyone who recommended Ted Lasso on AppleTV. We just finished the 10 episodes of season 1 and it was awesome - hilarious yet really heartwarming. It's honestly worth subscribing to AppleTV for a month just to watch this show. My wife isn't even a sports fan and she loved it too. Can't wait for season 2!
It's infectious. I didn't love the first ep either...I think I thought it was a little bland. Ill try to find my comments in here.I watched the 1st episode and thought it was boring and unfunny.
Felt the same about Lasso as you the first couple episodes...like it needed to be darker or more biting. But then I let the feel good win out...and glad I did. Really glad.Watched 2 episodes if Ted Lasso too. Pretty good. A little too feel good for my liking but I'll check out some more.
I was pretty meh after the first episode. It was ok, but didn't grab me. The second episode is far better and the show improves from there. 2 episodes to go but worth the watch. We watched the 1st ep of The Serpent last night, I think on Netflix.

It's not LOL funny but like someone else said, more heartwarming or whatever. It's worth a watch imo.I watched the 1st episode and thought it was boring and unfunny.
It’s got some really funny parts as well. I loved it and thought it was well timed during a not so great reality going on around us. Even during 2019, I would have really enjoyed it.It's not LOL funny but like someone else said, more heartwarming or whatever. It's worth a watch imo.
You’ll enjoy it. I guess I can get not liking Ted Lasso, but honestly it would kind of suck to not be able to enjoy a show like that. It sounds like you’d really enjoy it. I should check out Kim’s Convenience. Other people have mentioned it as well.I haven’t watched Ted Lasso yet but it seems like something I would enjoy.
I imagine Kim’s Convenience is in a similar category. Been watching that lately and it’s made me smile. Nothing heady at all, but amusing Canadian South Korean immigrant family sitcom that has plenty of heartwarming storylines and is a nice immigrant slice of life show.
Big fan of Rake.Wife and I started Rake on Netflix this weekend. It's an Aussie Drama about a solicitor (lawyer) who is basically a rake. He's a gambling addict, a drunk, and bangs lots of women. (Decent amount of nudity.) There's 5 seasons of it and so far it is quite enjoyable. It is a little old, premiered in Australia in 2010.
(I tried searching for 'Rake' in this thread and didn't find anything, apologies if it's been mentioned before.)

Ironically episode 6 is the one that hooked meMr. Robot fans - how far into it do I need to go before it hooks me? I enjoyed the first episode, but it's starting to drag...currently through S01E05
I remember watching that. It sucked. There was an American version with Greg Kinnear a few years ago. It only lasted 13 episodes.

I saw a message that KINGDOM will be leaving (US) Neflix on 4/30.Might just be in Canada, but seeing a message on Netflix that Kingdom will be gone from there on April 30th. We just finished watching the 3rd season. So, if you want to watch it, now is the time.
this was a Mrs. Nemesis pick and it was pretty good, if i may say so. Seasons 1-3 are on Netflix for binge......but I think Season 4 is airing wkly on NBC. Anyone know when they drop to Netflix?Started Good Girls . Enjoying it so far. Not bad for a network ahow
We watch it weekly.. It is still decent, but like many shows, they allow the antagonists to hang around way too long. It just gets to be the same old "why the bleep is he/she still around?" ..Started Good Girls . Enjoying it so far. Not bad for a network ahow
It was very well filmed. Loved the locations and some of the acting and story lines. But agree there were a lot of poor writing choices that brought the overall show down. And yeah, I'd watch a s2 for sureJust wrapped up Zero Zero Zero. I enjoyed it but the way they weave together the various plot lines is a structural mess and adds nothing IMO. And the characters do some of the dumbest things. But I was invested and would watch a season 2.
Does she show the girls enough? You know what I'm talking aboutStarted Good Girls . Enjoying it so far. Not bad for a network ahow
Looks interesting and we loved After Life. Will check it out...thx.I don't know if it's ever been mentioned since the search sucks here, but I can't find anything.
Just started watching Last Tango in Halifax. It is really enjoyable. For those of you that liked After Life, I think you'd like this. We are 3 episodes in and it's just a good, good show much like After Life.
HBOMax announced a couple of days ago that it is giving Warrior a third season. That's just excellent news.
We watched it. Whedon directed it. Wasn't bad, but needed to set up a bunch of moving plot parts and a fantastical version of 19th c london...so was always going to be difficult to hit it out of the park with this one. But again, decent and worth watching imo. I have a feeling it will find it's feet and be solid.Has anybody watched the 1st episode of The Nevers on HBO? Looks interesting, but it wasn't rated very well on a few places I looked.
Joss Whedon was involved in the show.
Mrs Nemesis & I watched Season 1 & 2 of DERRY GIRLS on Netflix. each episode is 25 mins. Each season is only 6 episodes though. if you liked the humor in Kim’s Convenience, you’ll probably like this one tooHighly recommend Derry Girls for those looking for a comedy. Great casting throughout. Subtitles a must!
Not me GB. Giddy upThe main characters are women, so that will likely turn some men off to the show.
2 episodes in and enjoying it.I don't know if it's ever been mentioned since the search sucks here, but I can't find anything.

ditto.I watched the 1st episode and thought it was boring and unfunny.
Glad you liked it and you came back to post about it. I was going to ask.2 episodes in and enjoying it.
Not sure I'd use After Life as a comp. The characters arent quite as quirky as in that show but it's a good storyline with an excellent cast.
Thanks for the rec.

Steampunk period fantasy with a little bit of x-men (certain people have unique powers). The main characters are women, so that will likely turn some men off to the show.
I liked it enough to continue. Started slow but picked up in the second half hour.Has anybody watched the 1st episode of The Nevers on HBO? Looks interesting, but it wasn't rated very well on a few places I looked.
