Last Kingdom gets better and better and better. We binged it and already miss it terribly.

We binged Mayor of Kingstown and loved it. Extremely gritty.
Just in case you thought The Last Kingdom was finished, I can’t wait for this to be available.

“With the end of The Last Kingdom on Netflix, the epic finale to the story of Uhtred of Bebbanburg will be told through the movie, Seven Kings Must Die. With filming currently ongoing in Hungary, we expect to see Seven Kings Must Die on Netflix sometime in 2023.”
The movie is available on Netflix now, it’s called “Seven Kings Must Die”.

Just finished the movie. When I started watching the series a couple of months ago, I almost stopped watching after the first few episodes in S1. To me it just had below average production value. So glad I stuck with it! Although it had up and down production quality throughout, the story telling was very entertaining. I was afraid this movie finale was going to be a two hour blood bath, but I was pleasantly surprised that the gory battle scenes were kept to a minimum and the story telling content and ending were satisfying.

The new season of Better Call Saul is out tomorrow. They're calling it "Lucky Hank" though.

I'll check it out.
During the Series Finale of Better Call Saul, AMC had commercials with the names of new series with Bob Odenkirk and Giancarlo Esposito. I thought the Bob O one was going to be called Straight Man (ETA- further Googling shows Lucky Hank is based on the novel "Straight Man"). Haven't heard anything more about the one with Esposito.
I don't know what it's about but I will definitely give it a try. Toby from the office is the guy that developed it for TV
Just watched first 3 episodes of Lucky Hank and I love it.

Bob O nails the role and for a seemingly boring premise, it is cleverly written and well acted with lots of humor that sometimes mocks the education system (which I enjoy as a parent of 2 teens and husband to a principal).

His character seems on the verge of disaster or flipping out almost constantly but manages to just keep things barely on the rails.
Watched the first 3 yesterday... wasn't overly impressed. Love Bob O so maybe was just expecting too much? I'll continue tonight and see if I can get hooked.

Started The Night Agent. On episode 3 at the moment and not quite sure about this.
I pulled the plug after 2- thought it was really bad.

but if you're still in after 3 and still not sure... I can't imagine it gets any worse- may as well keep going.
The last episode was so laughingly bad.
Oh I agree. Horribly bad actually. Started good, petered out mid season, then just got dumb..Like uber dumb. Not sure why people like this so much

lol... I'm getting more and more intrigued that it somehow got much worse than the first couple episodes.

It definitely got MUCH worse

my 15yo son has certain shows he likes to watch with the family- survivor mostly. we collectively have been watching yellow jackets with his 11yo sister (I'm on phone during this). but she picked a show called School Spirits to family watch because it had an actor or two she recognized from some other show she liked (zombies?)... on Paramount+.

it's basically a HS version of the network show "ghosts"- which I like- mixed into a who-dunnit. it's not the best thing out there, but it's an ok mixed gender family watch. might be swearing and some other HS age activities- but otherwise family-friendly. fair warning- it doesn't really wrap into a nice bow to end the season... and it's uncertain if there will be a follow up, even though it's clearly written to have one.

We recently watched it. I thought it was decent enough. I am guessing the actress from another show was Torey from Kobra Kai. She is the lead in this.

I’m watching it on the commute so I’m going to finish it but it’s garbage. It’s a direction nightmare, all over the place in terms of what kind of show it wants to be. Like the lead actress. She’s nice.
I hated the lead actress with the same stupid look on her face the whole series. My wife hated her too.
The lead actress or the scowly, murdery chick? Now her, I couldn’t stand.

I liked it well enough but yeah, the final episode was utterly implausible on every level.

moldy oldies (2017/18) - but it you never watched "American Vandal" on netflix - it's well worth checking out.

mockumentary - 1st season is trying to find out who spray painted penises on all the teachers cars and the 2nd season someone (nicknamed the Turd Burglar) put a butch of Exlax into the food/drink in the cafeteria and the entire school pooped themselves in the "brown out".

Both sucked but I was talking about lead actress. Horrible.

I mean without giving anything away....REALLY? There? Seriously. That show just got dumb. It's what I would expect on ABC or some other network..not on netflix.

I was going to wait until the full season was available to binge watch, but couldn't wait. Watched 4 episodes so far. I like it. I have faith it's leading to something, just not sure what.

Maisel, Succession and Barry all ending at the same time is going to wipe my list of favorite shows out pretty good.
How would you rank these?
Succession a clear #1

Barry #2
Maisel a close 3 — this one started off amazing but season 4 didn’t have a lot to say. May have stretched it one year too long. But I like how season 5 has started quite a bit.
Oh good to know. Season 4 was really underwhelming so Mrs. Woz and I were considering not even watching the new season.

Obviously season one was phenomenal.

Was searching new and returning show dates and came across this:

April 13:
Our Great National Parks (Netflix, new docuseries)

I don't have Netflix but that is something that would interest me.
the Ken Burns series??
No, but I did see that. This is not just National Parks in the U.S.A. but everywhere. Narrated by Barack Obama.

Narrated by former President Barack Obama, this stunning docuseries shines the spotlight on some of the planet's most spectacular national parks.

The episode that just aired on Sunday (Episode 5) is what it was leading to. It really upped the emotional stakes and had very high-caliber writing and acting.

Agreed. So interesting. The writing is exceptional. When was the last time you watched a couple interact with one another like they did at the dinner party and then wash the dishes together? Really enjoying it!

I watched the final two episodes of this season of Mandalorian. That looked as good as any of the movies, just in appearance and action sequences. Amazing that we’re getting this high of quality in a TV show… and it makes how crappy Boba Fett looked more embarrassing.

Yeah this season has been great.

Started Florida Man before getting interrupted halfway through. So far, pretty solid start. I'm interested.
We recently started as well. Think we are 2 or 3 episodes in and I agree with you. Solid show.
I have been avoiding this as the reviews are just---bad. But decided to try it out. I like it. It isn't great or anything...but watchable. Some funny lines. I seriously laughed out loud when she said the line "Well I guess shes not ***** you now" THAT was funny.
Also the line when she says they can share a room or she can get her own, but she doesn't have $8. Funny too.

I just finished season 1 of Picard.

My younger inner trekkie is satisfied with the entertainment. I might go back to watching more Trek stuff after this.
My younger inner trekkie was throwing stuff at the screen.

Just one more thing with you and I. Lol

The younger inner trekkie in me finds this season of Picard amazing

If you haven't seen it, season 3 of "Picard" is basically the final wrap-up of the TNG/DS9/Voyager era... worth a watch if you're into those. The series finale was so much a final episode of TNG that they didn't even really bother making it a "Picard" episode... it starts with the TNG intro shot and has the TNG theme song instead. (And the old gang's still got it.)

I need to give Picard another shot, but it has way more required backstory than TNG/DS9/Voyager. I watched all of those and I got the feeling when watching season 1, that there were a handful of major characters and other story arcs I was expected to already know about.

There is only one returning Picard character in season 3 that isn't from the era, and she has almost no part in the plot. You can totally watch season 3 without seeing anything other Picard seasons. If you're familiar with TNG, and know basically what DS9 was about, and who the character Seven of Nine is, that's all you really need for Picard s3.

Right? It could have been awful... it could have really taken the air out of the characters, but instead... it was actually fun. And seeing everyone together like that again was just like they'd never left...

Now...Beef? THATS a good show. Smartly written. Good acting. really fun story....worth the watch for sure.
Dumb name though
I liked Night Agent significantly more than Beef
Beef must be horrifically bad.
we watched 3 episodes last night.

is this supposed to be a comedy? it's not funny. not interesting. not making me want to watch another second of it.

can't think of a single moment in any episode that was even slightly humorous.

by contrast, we're three episodes in to Shameless. laughed more in 2 minutes of that show than in 90 minutes of Beef.

This is going to be a strain on our relationship going forward.

You probably didn't like Cable Guy either
