Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (10 Viewers)

"The Diplomat" with Kerri Russell is pretty good for those of you that like political shows. Season 3 came out earlier this month and the show is getting better imho.

I also tried watching "Nobody wants this"...the Kristen Bell series but it just got way too romance-y for me. Definitely not a dude show even though it has some funny....it was just too much for me so I gave up.

I think "the Witcher" is next up for me which starts Thursday.

These are shows that I haven't watched the last season of yet, and I haven't really seen anything that has convinced me otherwise. Anyone recommend?
Handmaid's Tale
Squid Game (actually have only seen first season).
Westworld
Alice in Borderland

I really enjoyed the final season Westworld. Some folks hated it because it wasn't a "western" anymore. It was well made and if you're into that sci fi dystopian type thing, a must watch. It's a shame it got cancelled as they were expected to have another season to tie up all the loose ends so a lot of things are left unanswered :kicksrock:
Some folks hated it because the quality went way down after season 1.

Season 1 = one of the best seasons of television ever made.
Season 2 = a few stunning episodes but mostly a jumbled mess.
Season 3 = one of the worst seasons of television ever made.
Season 4 = better than seasons 2 and 3 until the last two episodes, which were season 3-level awful.
I'll jump on the Westworld band wagon. Season 1 was amazing. It tailed off horribly but I still enjoyed it. It literally switches genres on you. Starts western then by the end was something completely different. Worth a watch for sure though.

Can you even watch Westworld anywhere? Didn’t Zaslav screw them over and dump the show off HBOMAX like a lot of the other WB content?
you can definitely buy/rent it from Amazon/Apple but the internet also says that you can watch the episodes on tubi

which I will have to do
I watched some yersterday so I can confirm that this is accurate. I also looked and it seems like they will stop on november 9th. So if you haven't seen it and want to or if you are like me and haven't seen season 4 yet then now is the time to watch.

Slough Horses still a fun ride.
Love the show so much. I will say the idea that they’d still be treated as fourth-rate agents after solving so many huge international incidents is becoming distractingly implausible.
Yeah, but they do a pretty good job with the show making it almost like they stumble into stuff and solve it in spite of themselves.
True. Although Gary oldman has become an omnipotent puppet master in that regard. Would be tiresome if he wasnt slaying it every scene.

Im starting Down Cemetery Road, by the same team. Man..this is not good. Characters doing and saying total nonsense...for...laughs? push the plot? Just not good.

Any thoughts on Generation Kill? I see it was written by David Simon. Just one season? Was it cancelled or just meant for one?
Just meant for one, pretty solid series depicting the invasion of Iraq in 2003. A Rolling Stone reporter embeds with a fairly elite group of recon marines, chronicling the journey from step off in Kuwait to Baghdad and the oft times pointless use of elite forces doing stupid **** because superiors didn't understand how to use them and more importantly, because the US lead coalition literally ran rough shod over the Iraqi army with little resistance. Stays pretty true to the book as well. Sadly the author, Evan Wright (the Rolling stone reporter) committed suicide last July. He lead a pretty interesting life.

Thanks for the review! I'll put it on my list.

I'm a stan for Tim Robinson, and the Chair Company (HBO) is off to a promising start. Some absurdity, some office sitcom laughs, and a deep conspiracy.
Yep. Definitely not for everybody (Mrs. Woz bailed after the first five minutes) and I usually need to be in a particular mood with it (i.e. under the influence of THC), but it's been fun so way in like a Pineapple Express kind of way.
