Subscriber Contest is LIVE (1 Viewer)

Some cool tweaks this year:

- 22 roster spots. You choose how many to select at each position.

- Better scoring to spread the wealth of points

- Staff entries will appear in red to maximize trash talking

- Cuts extended a week

Just filled out an entry form. Very easy to do since you check your salary cap and # of players selected shown

So....Gore doesn't seem to be quite as good a value as he was last year....
Every year something will create value though. Gore was in a camp battle with Barlow when we released this last year. When the 49ers cut Barlow then it was obvious that Gore would have a lot more value. Injuries, etc will likely do the same this year as well. This contest always starts pretty hard, but these extra values generally make it a lot easier by the time the season hits.

Very nice tweaks, teams are bound to be very distinct this year, not nearly as cookie cutter-like as last year.

I really like this, great job!

Subscriber Contest Entry Form

Please kick the tires here and let us know if you see anything goofy. This will go LIVE tomorrow.
Any chance of adding Carolina's first team TE rather than the backup?
The player's list is final. You must select from the available players on the form. We don't go as deep as necessary in some cases because we don't want teams constructed all based on camp injuries. In other cases, our projections could be flawwed. Either way, you must build a team with the people on the form.

FYI...King is oVVning Gaines in camp.Cool contest. Does seem easier than last year. Well time to wait for the injuries to set in.

So who gets the money when I win? Can I at least keep the lifetime FBG subscription?

Hang on, I just remembered that my cousin, err, I mean I lives in LA so the money can go straight into her my account. All is good.

Might as well sticky this one and make it the ***OFFICAL*** thread to prevent 10 new ones a week.

Love the changes. With a quick glance, I see lots of value. :wall:

Doug kept telling me to raise the prices...lol. But I think the "softer" prices should lead to many diverse rosters and that essentially is the goal. Flexible rosters and more points scored should also open up the game considerably. I think this will be the best contest yet.

After changing it 6 times so far (and probably 600 more before the deadline), this is what I have so far.....

QB $34

RB $101

WR $73

TE $36

K $2

DEF $4

Any link to last year's thread? Couldn't seem to find it. Since I did pretty decent last year (was in the final group to be cut) I figure I should see what worked last year :)

Of course I may just go off the board and try the 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE, 2 DEF, 9 K method

Went with a completely different strategy this year.

Can't believe my entire season hinges on the success of Joe Horn.

I have two questions folks ...

a) How many total participants did we get this year for the Subscriber Contest?

b) What day of the week are you anticipating for posting the results each week? Tuesday? Or Wednesday?

a) I don't remember the exact number, but it was in the neighborhood of 11,800.b) we anticipate posting results on Tuesday mornings.

Lamont Jordan 2007 = FRank Gore 2006I'm not saying he's going to put up the same numbers as Gore. I just think he's the money selection here. Chris Brown would've been nice too. I dropped Brown to pick up Jordan. I think I did OK....

I thought Jordan was a bargain at that price. People forget that Art Shell's offense didn't really work Jordan into the passing game enough - and receptions are a big part of Jordan's game.

He very much looked like the Lamont of 2005. And with 3 soft D's coming up he will be Frank Gore circa 2006. His playoff schedule blows tho, GB, Indy and Jax weeks 14, 15, and 16 (that is if Indy keeps up what they did against the run throughout the 2006 playoffs and week 1 of 2007).
