Suh Get Two Games (1 Viewer)

After listening to some more sound clips and hearing interviews from old teammates of Suh - I think this suspension ultimately will help the guy. He used to have a certain humility while in college. He is ungodly talented - but I think the hype has given him a sense of entitlement. Hopefully it helps - I'd like to see the guy have a good career. He's got the physical tools - now let's hope he develops the mental tools.

The fact that he appealed this tells me that he hasn't learned one thing from this incident. If he had, he would take his medicine and be glad he got off this easy. Mark my words, this will not be the last time we hear about Suh in hot water.
I agree. In fact I fully expect some OL to take this POS out during a game some time in his career. He will get chop blocked or someone will go after his knees. It will happen. Everyone can see on film how dirty he is. Ripping helmets off QBs is something he has done at least 3 times now (Delhomme; Cutler; Dalton). If he had done it to NFL's golden boys like Peyton or Brady, he would have been out for the rest of the year already. The hypocrisy in the league offices is unbelievable.

Everybody appeals..Big Ben appealed his rape suspension and got it knocked down. It is standard procedure.
Not EVERYBODY. AJ did not appeal when he went postal on Finnegan.

He was never suspended so there was nothing to appeal. He was only fined for that fight.

DENIED!

The NFL has upheld Lions DT Ndamukong Suh's two-game suspension for violating the league's on-field conduct policy after an appeal attempt.

In fairness, you don't know whether he decided to appeal or if he was told to appeal by the NFLPA. Talk on the radio shows here in Nebraska was that Goodell suggested he appeal - and the thought was that if he did so his suspension might be increased, not decreased...which would have been funny and would really have made him look even more foolish.Shame that a guy with this much talent could blow it due to ego or whatever is his problem.

Of course he was advised to appeal. Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply trying to stir the pot more or is irrational. I'm glad the NFL upheld the 2 game suspension though. I said it a while ago in another thread but there is little doubt that Suh is a dirty player and needs to be disciplined. Until now it seems many were still on the fence about Suh being dirty despite the countless statements and other recorded incidents by other players. Players don't make this stuff up. Now that he was caught on film in a manor which was impossible to deny it seems he is finally facing his proper judgement. Suh appealing is not of concern to me. His statement after the game was. The guy is delusional and a danger to the other players on the field. On top of that, he is a detriment to his team. His behavior Thursday directly resulted in Det giving up 7 points rather than 3 and also greatly contributed to that game spiraling out of control for them. Not only should the NFL be embarrassed by this and react, but so should his team, teammates and coaches.

I'm a life-long Lion's fan, and I'm glad that he got suspended. Before this latest incident, I thought people were over-reacting to him, but the "stomp", and especially his explanation, were ridiculous. I hope that he learns to channel the aggression. If the guy cheap shots him, punish him for the rest of the game by pounding him every play.At the same time, I do think that people DO continue to over-react to him. Players take cheap shots on people standing near the pile on pretty much every play, not to mention the dozen or so scuffles that break out after the whistle in every game. And there is a much greater possibility to injure someone when someone is standing still and they get blind-sided. The reasons why this one has created such an uproar is because of his reputation, because it was so plainly visible, and because of his stupid explanation. I obviously haven't played pro football, but I bet worse happens in pretty much every pile too (at least it sure did in high school). I'm not defending him, just pointing out that he didn't go Billy Cole or anything, like many would have you believe.

I like Suh as a player and I'm a Lion fan, of sorts. That said, Suh has made his bed and now he has to sleep in it. You're 100% right. I'm sure guys are taking extra shots at Suh. It's a smart strategy given his reputation. They know he can be easily instigated into doing stupid things that will cost his team. I don't think anyone is going to intentionally try to take him out as others suggest, at least I certainly hope not. However, if you know that a few extra chips at the guy every so often is eventually going to send him over the edge, give your team 15 yds and possible remove him from the game it's a pretty smart ploy.Suh's got to get his temper in check. Det and their coaches shouldn't have let it get to this.

I totally agree that he has to get his temper in check, that's why I fully support the suspension. I didn't mean that he was given a cheap shot on the play (at least I didn't see it). I was merely trying to state the fact that stuff happens all game, every game, and that most of the people making such a big deal about that defend the same actions by players on "their" team.

Nothing good happens after midnight...Suh now stomping on the gas

NFL player Ndamukong Suh crashes car in downtown Portland; he and two passengers were not hurt

Ndamukong Suh, a defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions on suspension for two NFL games, crashed his car into a tree early Saturday morning in downtown Portland. He and two passengers were not injured.

Suh, 24, reportedly lost control of a 1970 Chevrolet Coupe while he was driving south on 3rd Avenue. When he crossed Burnside Street, he crashed into a curb, light pole, a drinking fountain and a tree, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson, spokesman for the Portland Police Bureau.

Portland police responded at about 1:15 a.m. and determined that Suh was not impaired. He simply lost control of the car, Simpson said. Suh cooperated with the investigation and his car was towed from the scene, police said.

The NFL suspended Suh for two games after he stomped on Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith during a game on Thanksgiving Day. Suh will be reinstated on Dec. 12.

Suh is a graduate of Grant High School.
