Summerpalooza III: FFA Music/Fantasy Football Draft - Congrats League Champ Pip's Invitation (2 Viewers)

Thanks. Couldn't start him, though. He's on the bench. He's been a better play than Higbee for about four games now. He's on my dynasty team, so I watch.
Yep, Higbee on a dynasty team, Everett available.  Haven't been able to convince myself to make the change.

Dear Lord, that's the first I've heard of it. Between him and the others, I'm a bit snakebit now, especially on my dynasty squad.
He was a cornerstone of my main big money league but that team has been beset by injuries. I was so happy to see him do well last week but I guess he broke the finger on the TD catch.

I think he probably broke it slapping Tom Brady in the helmet. That's actually what I thought when I read that he broke it. He was slamming on that helmet.

What a catch, though.

He’s so good. Could have been helmet slap, sucks if it was. I assumed it maybe got caught when he rolled in the ground. Sucks either way.

Dang, yo. Now all my WRs besides Aiyuk are jacked (questionable, at least) in some way going into Week 8, and I have my three starting RBs out of the lineup. This could get interesting.

Our dual $7 bids on Aiyuk are having major repercussions. I sure could use him since every single one of my WRs has been terrible the last 2 weeks.

I've never been for standings determining the tiebreak when there's FAAB, but I suppose if one bids identically to the other which is...say, a one in ten or twenty chance (not one hundred because there are assumptions of ranges built in to what I'm talking about) there's gotta be some way to do it. Random generated coin flip, maybe?

Anyway, tough luck for you with that bid. Steve Austin intones "suck it," and the Idiocracy nods.

Not sure why I was impelled to bring up Steve Austin and that morbidity, but I saw a certain flag today on the back of a pick up and thought of What Steve And The Idiocracy Might Say.

Now I'm just riffing.

What I'm hearing is there is now a robust trade market for Corey Davis, Sterling Shepard, Jalen Reagor and all the other marginal WR's I have on my team...
Uh huh. I hear you. That really depends on how you define "robust." I'm ready to forego any serious thoughts at winning Week Eight provided KP sets his lineup, and by Week Nine I should be able to field an eminently workable and competitive lineup with two if not all of the guys back (Diontae's bruised ankle, A-Rob's concussion, and Godwin's finger all presumably healed within that time frame).

I'm really hurting at RB this week. I'm starting Josh Kelley and JaMycal Hasty. Good thing for me that I'm biting the bullet this week with byes and they shouldn't really bite me any other time save for Week 13, when I will be without Tom Terrific and Godwin's mouth to my ear.

I might just start Fulham, Reagor and Lamb at WR and hope that's another 45-40 Cowboys game...
Is Reagor going to play? I don't think that's set in stone yet.

It's a guarantee that no matter who the Cowboys start at QB, the Eagles will give up at least one ridiculous long TD pass. The hard part is guessing who it will go to.

My other league I'm choosing between two of Hasty, Kelly, Lev Bell and Dobbins. A lot will depend on practise and the status of Ingram, McKinnon, Coleman etc... Pretty sure I'm just going to lock Bell into one of the spots and assume he puts up 50 yards and a score against the Jets...

Wicked weather right now in NC. Rain and wind gust up to 55 mph. It should be much calmer by the game tonight.

I'd say this is in the "prettier" end of their spectrum but does the quiet/loud thing as well as their very best.
If I remember correctly, when I taught "History of Rock", I used one of their songs as the example to illustrate (what is the audio version of that word) what dynamics were in music.

Now I am looking at Spotify and I don't know if it was them. This is going to bug me as this was probably 8 years ago.

Nevermind, found it. It was them, $100

This is probably the week I take sole possession of last place. At least I'm not paying for these beat downs like some of my other leagues.
I feel your pain, weasel man. I have won three games, and the last two I won my opponents played either a player on a bye or an injured player that was out. I hope my players didn't notice those opponents didn't have enough players on the field, or they would have thought of it as a pity win.  My guys are still trying. Bless their hearts.

Added: Scott Miller, TB, WR

Song: It Just Might Be Okay

Artist: Lupe Fiasco

(Miller was born in Barrington, 37 miles out of Chicago, which is where Lupe is from.)

This song brings back some memories. Back during drug days I was living at home and going to law school. The line "look him his Mom in the face and promise he's straight" takes on extra meaning for me.

Then he leaves the house that love built that
HUD renovated that section 8 pays for
Well let's pray for em, let the beat play for em
Put his struggles on display for em
Cause he gotta go and face the drama
With a different face from the one that he use
To face his momma, if you look close you'll see
It consist of a smile that hurts, an ice grill, and a trace of trauma
Little bit of his father, another criterion
That's no different from a young Liberian
Who let the delirium weary him, living in the inner city
Out of his mind, liria reconcilia
I'm cool, I don't foretell best

I ain't the nicest MC, I ain't Cornel West
I am Cornel Westside, Chi-town Guevara
Malcolm eXorcise the demons, gangsta leaning
He traded in his kufi for a New Era
Chose a 44 over a mortarboard
I ain't a credited institute graduate, I ain't from Nazareth
My conception wasn't immaculate, I ain't master no calculus
A good addition to the rap audience
I back flipped on the mattress they slept on me on
Whaddown Joe, knowing is half the battle
Fighting temptation, have an apple
Shakes the snakes, pimp the system
Let's get into it, tabernacle
