Summerpalooza III: FFA Music/Fantasy Football Draft - Congrats League Champ Pip's Invitation (1 Viewer)

I will be out of pocket all day starting soon. My live in person draft with my college buddies so lot's of beer will be flowing. I can send one pick to some one but if it gets back to me for a second pick today I can't pick until tomorrow.

You can send it to me. Have fun with your draft, bro. That's awesome you get to get together and do it with old friends and together (a rare COVID thing).

Thanks will send in a few. We are in NJ where things have got under control and will be drafting outside (weather permitting or we may need to head into the garage) and keeping some distance - but it's a small group of 12 so we'll be safe.

My new Mogwai Ten Rapid limited edition color vinyl is only three stops away in an Amazon transport, for anybody who wants a package play-by-play.

That wouldn't make him fearless. It means he feared the hangover and went and hid back under his covers. I dare you to yank the covers off of him.
I hear his leg swings out violently towards a guy's midsection when one messes with his covers. I'm leaving that up to you.

Where's Pip? His write-ups about Neil Young are incredible simply for the links. So many of them! Geez. I have to say that Rockin' In The Free World is a righteous song. #2 ain't bad. My friend from D.C. used to sing it jokingly to me as my theme song whenever I'd enter anywhere, usually a bit tipsy back then.

Keep on rockin' in the free world!

3.04 - Tom Brady, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Song: MC5 - Come Together

(MC5 is from Ann Arbor. Brady graduated college from U Mich, in Ann Arbor. ilov80s can probably tell you more about the town and its history than Brady most likely, but Brady can tell ilov80s about winning championships.)

I wanted Ekeler. You took him right before my pick, and I had to scramble for another RB, and so I drafted one in a walking boot. 😟
I traded Drake in my dynasty league for McLaurin. Purely because of age and future reasons because I think, if healthy, Drake will have a huge year.

That's how I felt about Chubb last night. Think of it this way: I'm saving you from a possibly physically deteriorating 42 year-old. When it ends for these guys, it's like a cliff. I've got my fingers crossed about the stack I've just cemented into my lineup here.
I thought I'd be reaching by taking my boy in this round or next.   I need to look at these other QB thingies.

Kinda can't believe @rockaction didn't stack him with Mahomes, but I'll take

3.5 Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City

Kelce played at University of Cincinnati, the home city of the The Isley Brothers.  As an Oregon Ducks homer I'm particularly fond of the end of 3rd quarter tradition at Autzen stadium wherein the home fans join in singing Shout.

So much fun every time (especially when they are winning).

I don't hate the song, but the only time Neil's voice has bugged me is in the chorus of this song.

I have to admit to a potential reach there, but in Superflex you can wind up needing a QB really quick, and once you're trying to superflex in a mediocre WR or RB, you're behind the eight ball. That usually winds up hurting your team. I've got Fantasy Pros synced to this league's settings and am doing mocks and it's not too, too early. He was like the sixth-eighth best VBD choice there. Sorry I snagged your guy, though. If it makes you feel better, I feel like Robert Johnson at the Crossroads as a Jets fan.

I have an aversion to early tight ends, just like Dr. Octopus. My team usually never looks right. (And I would have taken a different TE, regardless.) But you're right. The mocks I was doing with our draft up to this point were begging me to take Kelce per VBD. Nice pick.

I was listening to Karma Police the other night and of course thought of our friend here. OK Computer is just such an album. I was spinning Kid A, too, as well as Amnesiac. Good stuff.

Why are you giving opponents tips?

Was hoping he'd fall to me, so close.

Really, it's because I'm like that rooster Tina Fey talks about being on cocaine. "That rooster just would not shut up!"
You need to lay off any type of stimulant.  Take some melatonin or valerian root, or eat a bunch of turkey. Something to sedate you a bit.

Heh. I'm just spitballing. If this were a poker tournament for money, I'd be quiet as a church mouse.

Neil Young has come on my YouTube feed now. Hmmm...not liking the tracing here.

He got the Brady-Godwin stack though

Alright, I guess Rock stopped me from being a bandwagon fan and going the NE south route, so I guess I will keep it real and reach for TB's replacement.  Again, mostly because of the group/song, but also to keep riding the Patriots' train.

3.06:  CAM NEWTON - QB

SONG:   GANG STARR - ABOVE THE CLOUDS (from Boston)
