Summerpalooza III: FFA Music/Fantasy Football Draft - Congrats League Champ Pip's Invitation (2 Viewers)

To be clear, based on last week's precedent, if they are rescheduled, we won't do anything, especially since we have extra bench spots now. They will just be treated as bye weeks. 

If it's moved to Monday/Tuesday and there is question whether a game will happen, you will be able to name a provisional starter if a game is postponed last minute (again, this time no bench spots added, so plan ahead)

I hope TN can play, but if not, I wonder how they will handle that since TN already had their bye last week.

I actually had a bid on him last week if I didn't get Foles and did add him last week on spec in my other pool, so timing good for sure but I've been on him before this AM.

Yahoo tells me I had the same bid for Aiyuk but lost tiebreaker. Oy. 

I'm pretty sure a Jimmy Eat World song was picked at some point, but I don't remember if it was this one.

A seven dollar bid, huh? You caught a bad beat losing that tiebreaker to the guy one in back of you who decided to bet the exact same amount...yesterday I got beat on a dynasty bid for Ernest Johnson by thirteen bucks by the Chubb owner. And I had gone over his bid, but changed it. Dang. Sometimes the best moves are the ones never made, though, so...

That said, AIyuk only touched the ball, what, twice last game? I've now invested twenty FAAB in the guy, though. Had to drop him with the COVID/bye crunch, otherwise I don't think I would have bid on him the first time. Maybe I would have. Whatever, I started Greg freaking Ward last week. Seems like leaving well enough alone or going on first hunch will get things to lay right this year. 

I'm feeling pretty sure I might have picked the Jimmy Eat World song, but I thought I researched it and came up with something better last time. I'd have to check through the thread.

eta* I didn't pick Jimmy. I picked Junior Brown. That's right.

I have to find that thread. It was either last year or the year priors Tim Draft. Em times out right as the clock was ending for the night and lost his mind over AJ Green.

He timed out, but I think right after we were supposed to shut down the draft for the night, or close to it.  And so whoever was running it gave him AJ Green and Em blew a gasket because he wanted Derrick Henry.  Spent 4 or 5 pages screaming at everyone and demanding Derrick Henry.  Hence, my team name for that league: "Derrick Henry. Now."  But it was ugly enough at least one person left the league I believe and many considered it.

Didn't he actually draft AJ Green after Capella/Premier took Derrick Henry? He was skipped, right? He stormed and raged about it, but once skipped he then made a high-risk, dumb pick? That's what I always took away from that.

I think you are right.  I had the gist, but it's hazy.  Either way....man what a couple of days that was.

Little known fact outside of the gambling thread: Em was recruited to host a sports gambling podcast.  There have been at least a few episodes, and the expert is one of our own, an mma savant.  I am pretty sure at least 2 of the episodes were each over 5 hours.  It's amazing.

I never listened to the whole thing, but bits and pieces.  He's actually pretty natural on the mic.  Better than I would be.

I remember this very well despite not having any part in that draft. I think we had the first iteration of this draft going at the same time or something so there was some crossover.

I think you are right and someone, maybe Rock tipped us off to check it out but then it ended up being way worse than we even anticipated.

That sounds about right. 

I do lots of prop bets most Sundays but my few forays into the gambling thread usually end with me not wanting to go back because of Em.

I posted hockey picks in there for a while and he completely lost it because my posts were getting more "likes" than his. Just utter nonsense.

My first ever trip to a strip club, I was very underage but let in because I was with my brother and his friends. I vividly remember the night ended with this as the last song and then the lights came up and while the group of us were still finishing their beers they played "Free Fallin'" bringing about a drunken singalong for the ages. 

 
Given the Titans had secret practices and broke the rules, the NFL should suspend the whole team for 2 weeks and make them forfeit. Sucks for fantasy but that’s what I would do.

I kind of agree but wonder how they deal with the teams they would have played. Is it really fair to just hand the Bills a win this week?

Wasn't it some offensive positional players that did it?   It seems the coach had nothing to do with it, nor did most of the team. I wouldn't make them forfeit. I'd fine them and maybe take away a draft pick.

So we just reschedule another game for them? To me it doesn’t matter if the coaches had a role or not. Members of the team organized a practice when they were supposed to be specifically not doing that. You want to stop that, you deliver a harsh punishment. This is how they will learn and how we allow the rest of the league to move forward imo.
