Summerpalooza IV - Combined Music/Fantasy Draft - Braxton Un-Breaks My Heart (2 Viewers)

LOL.

On a more serious note, thank God you didn't post a song about what could have been. Jerick McKinnon is a recent all-timer for that.

I gave my all, but I guess my all wasn't good enough
Cause here we are back where we were before...
Yeah, he was such a super athlete coming out of college. One has to wonder how much of that is left though.

I think you meant 16.11, ilov.
Thanks, hadn't had my coffee yet and got mixed up.

Ohhh that would be interesting. They tried it last year with Bell and it didn't work out, I wonder how that impacts their thought process this year.
Bell was so shot. You have to think that the other coaches around the league are now on full alert about trying to sneak dynamic backs on their practice squad. I'm looking at you, WFT with Patterson. And Patriots with JJ Taylor. Hmmm...around the league, antennae should be up.

CEH wasn't hurt last year when they pulled the Bell ####, tho ... Reid just got greedy, thought there was more in L'evs tank, and got roasted.

That's a great point I hadn't thought of. Bad news for me, though. In my new dynasty league, I chose CEH in a dispersal draft over Aaron Jones. OOOOOOOF.

yeah, if this is of any significance to CEH, you can bet yer ### Reid is gonna make moves ... they overhauled/beefed up that line to better road grade for the rbs to take pressure off 'Homie after Joseph & co. undressed him in the SB.

Reid ain't chasing a 'chip with only McKinnon/Darrel/Darwin.

... all contingent on IF it's bad for CEH, of course.

I'll do another one that I guess I'll file under bust.  I was convinced that because he came from and dominated at the same NC State program as my favourite wide receiver of all time...

That he would be an equally beastly NFL receiver. And he was, exactly once...

Koren Robinson, WR, SEA
I believe Koren's NFL career would have gone differently had it not been for his alcoholism. Even when he was at NC State he had issues. I remember Coach Amato suspending him a few times, and Philip Rivers trying to keep Koren on course.  He only played for State for two years since he declared early for the draft. Jerricho Cotchery took his place as the WR1 at State. Jerricho broke a couple records held by Torry Holt, who I'm assuming is your favorite WR of all time. Torry is the best WR NCSU has ever had (at least that I can remember), but my favorite is Jerricho. I loved hearing, "Rivers to Cotchery, Touchdown!"  Philip and Jerricho had such great chemistry.

Anyway, I read an article on Koren about three years ago, and at that time he was living in NC, sober, and doing well. I hope he still is sober and well.

That’s definitely taken down some good players. Montee Ball and Justin Blackmon come to mind as well.

Grace Kelly/Lee Konitz - You Don't Know What Love Is

I was going to pick a song that was a play on Koo's name like Charlie Parker's "Ko-Ko" or "Serenade for a Cuckoo" by Rahsaan Roland Kirk but I discovered Korean-American saxophone prodigy Grace Kelly last night. She was born Grace Chung but has taken her step-father's surname.

Kelly was only 16 when she recorded this album with the then 81-year old modernist legend Lee Konitz. I've probably posted in here before about my love for Jazz records with two main soloists playing the same instrument. It's fascinating to listen for the alto sax interplay between Kelly (right I think) and Konitz (left) during the head and how they approach the structure of their respective solos.

I've probably seen Kelly play because she's gone on to play with Jon Batiste's band on Late Night. I've read that network TV jobs are dream gigs for musicians in NY and LA: steady work on weekday afternoons and early evenings, health benefits, broad exposure, etc.  Her more recent stuff has tended toward Pop with smoother arrangements and occasional vocals but she's still a talented sax player.

I will kick treble right in the butt.

as per ...

But it was four tops all night

With encores from stage right

Charging from the bass knives to the treble

But onstage they ain't got no roots rock rebel

Onstage they ain't got no ...

roots

       rock

                    rebel

Close enough for government work on the '78 because Google says '77. That was inspired lyrical digging, my man. Your reward? You maketh the list and the mix.

Tyler Bass - K - BUF

Song: (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais - The Clash

I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice
By once or twice I mean maybe a couple a hundred times
So let me, oh let me redeem, oh redeem, oh myself tonight
Cause I just need one more shot at second chances

Thanks, NV. My fave draft of the year. You can tell by the post count. Love it. Peace. (I'll keep on plugging with the sheet throughout the day).

17 Grab ### Selection

Matt Prater, K Arizona Kliffys

banking on more RZ follies from Kliffy's Kuties - they can matriculate between the 20s with the best of 'em, but ... the K gets nice work when they stall.

... allows me Arizona's greatest export, Vince Furnier & his Earwigs, doing my absolute favorite passage of theirs ...

Alice Cooper - Second Coming/Ballad of Dwight Fry

17.xx Matt Amendola K NYJ

Adam Jensen - Sabotage  Mostly wanted to use this song, so I'll wager the Jets can move the ball just far enough just enough times the first few games.

Thanks for this draft. It's a highlight for me.

Your post says "Gold Lion" is by Jermar Jefferson. I thought maybe he had a rap career, but deep down knew it was likely the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so that's what went on the sheet, bro.
I totally missed that, was just looking at the player name and was trying to figure out if I spelled it wrong or something. Worried I drafted the wrong guy.

Agree, it was (and will continue to be) a fun distraction. Thanks for those who help put it together and especially whoever has to now input the rosters. Not sure I can be added as a co-commish, but if it is possible, I would be willing to do it.
