Summerpalooza V -- Playoffs Over -- Eephus Is Now Two-Time Summerpalooza Champion (1 Viewer)

Make up song picks, whew, busy day

Lets circle back to yesterday's conversation about the 2002 Trail of Dead / Queens of the Stone Age tour w @Pip's Invitation

And the late great Mark Lanegan, whose book "Devil in a Coma" I just finished last night right before my pick came up

12.16 Tyler Higbee, LA Rams
Perfect chance .. SoCal desert monsters, and Lanegan was in LA by this time as well, living hand to mouth, painting Hollywood sets and ****

Song for the Dead -- and look.. it's that man from the BackBeat crew, on the kit
(those of us who saw them on the US tour were not so lucky)

Ticketmonster. LOL.

Good work, simey. That cracked me up.

Sorry again, k4, for whatever bureaucratic hell you're in. If it makes you feel any better, my mother can't cancel HBO from DirecTV (long bureaucratic hell story) and they keep charging her for it. We're going to have to contact the Better Business Bureau about it. They've promised to fix it, to call, etc. Nothing. It's ridiculous and she's spent a total of more than sixteen hours on the phone with them, which is ridiculous. They tell her they can't cancel it because of a ticket on their end or something. They always remark how calm she is about it. I'm getting angry just typing this.

Anyway, that's part of why I hate corporate bureaucracies.

I will take Jarvis Landry and Bills D .. songs to come

If you're trying to start a positional run, it helps to mention that you're making the pick to avoid being caught at the end of the run.

I just did that with QBs in the Shining Path Memorial. Then I took a receiver about 20 spots above FBG's ranking and ADP because...well...because a myriad of reasons I won't bore people with.

I tried to spark QB runs twice in this draft. It sort of worked too. You have to do it casually though :ninja:

The WR run cleared out the guys I knew about so I'll start a QB run and research some more receivers.

With 22 picks until my twelfth rounder, I don't want to be stuck at the end of a backup QB run.

I didn't notice it the first time you did it, but I certainly did the second!

Man, Ronald Jones and now Trey Sermon. It's like they've raided my dynasty team for longshots. Hwarf. I actually roster both and was going to pick one in this round. Time for Plan B!

Pip selects K.J. Hamler, DEN

I think. He chose "K.J. Osborn, Den" but Osborn has already been selected. I'm using Occam's razor here.

 I thought Hamler was already gone. Friggin Robbie Anderson. Sigh.

I am also a bubble water fan. Got some Bubly at home as well. Pretty refreshing stuff imo.

I like Polar's orange-vanilla flavor. It has the added bonus that nobody else in the house likes it so I can drink them all myself.

I had some orange-grapefruit Aha water when I was in Wisconsin and would definitely buy some more if I find it on sale.

We mostly just go through the 24 packs of the unflavored store brand fizzy water.

Polar's cranberry lime is my favorite from that company.

Topo Chico's Twist of Grapefruit is my overall #1 fizzy water, though.

We try all different brands and flavors. I guess I'm not picky because I find them all pretty decent. My favorite this summer has been Polar Tart Cherry Limeade.

Hmmm, I was hoping for one of Isaiah Likely or Isaiah Spiller to survive this round, I pondered both before choosing Chandler last round. Too many sharks in this pool it seems.

So I will take Ameer Abdullah, hoping for a late-career resurgence with the Raiders.

14. 11 Ameer Abdullah RB Las Vegas Raiders

Song: Just like me by Paul Revere and the Raiders

Love the Cherry Limeade.

Sleeper pick: Aha's Peach Honey flavor.

ETA: Anything blended with lime or lemon is usually great. Gives them good zip.

True story: We measure "hate" in our home based on my hatred of peaches. Like, if my wife exclaims, "Oh I HATE earwigs!!" my son will ask "Do you hate them more than Dad hates peaches?" Or if my son complains "I HATE ap Bio" I will ask if he hates it more than I hate peaches.

And it's not really that I hate peaches purr Say, it's more that I hate peach FLAVORING. Which stems from being offered/ordering iced tea in my youth and receiving peach iced tea which made me want to gag and scream at the same time. Just such treacle. Like Snapple Peach Iced Tea can take a long walk off of a short pier. So, yeah...tldr, I hate peaches. Vile, disgusting fruit.
