@Eephus

That ship has already sailed for rock.

Yes it has. I've always held extra position players during the week and no kicker or defense until the last minute, so you can do that. There's no positional rigidity in that respect, IIRC. But Draft Dominator is giving fits. I'm only asking for input's sake to make it easier on NV and if there's a rule, to clarify it. I'd really just go back and re-do the pick with the players still on the board if it's going to be a hassle.

OK, if you've always done it, I don't see what the issue is? I didn't care personally but was only responding to Mrs. R saying you had to. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do that.

Wait. Can't we pick position players still if we want, and drop/add to get a kicker or defense before the season starts?

You've always been able to do that. Draft Dominator was giving me fits though, and it imports the league settings. I'm asking NV to be sure.

We don't want him having a bunch of guys you can't enter into the system.

I wouldn't worry too much. It rolls over from years past, so I don't see it being a problem.

Yeah, I figured that. Thanks, k4. I was just stating it for people that come after.

NV said he has Yahoo up to date so far. I've been drafting the last two rounds with the assumption I can drop someone once we are done and the waiver starts, and then pick up a kicker or defense. Let me know if it is different this year.

Yep. That's why I asked him. I don't think it should be any different. I just did what you were going to do.

I usually just take a kicker and d at the end, but losing my 6th rounder for some time has thrown a wrench into things for me. I will probably just have to take that as it goes.

Unfortunate situation all around. I feel for the young man. Yeah, take it as it goes. You're fourteenth, so we've got some time. If he doesn't log back on and answer, just go ahead with it as you planned. Worse comes to worse, you've got your choice of what are likely to be sixteen kickers and sixteen defenses. That's how I'm treating it.

Currently listening to All Summer Long by The Beach Boys. It's an Analogue Productions special, re-mastered in glorious mono, and it sounds great. It's right when they stopped being totally Murray's creation and totally hokey in their emotions. Of course there's "All Summer Long" and "The Girls On The Beach," but that stuff, which gets cloying, is kept to a minimum on the record. It's becoming apparent that their voices and delivery are too good for the subject matter they've chosen to sing about. Time for Brian to get involved.

I washed my hair today and it was a disaster. I can shower, but I can only let water lightly touch the incision areas, therefore I can't wash my hair in the shower. I put my head under the faucet in the tub, and it wasn't easy using one hand (right) to get on the left side of my hair. My hair looks half clean and half greasy. I may have put too much conditioner on the left side, or not enough shampoo. The left side still has a semi-wet look about it. At least half of it looks clean.

I had to do this after my shoulder surgery. I was prohibited from showering for two-three weeks. I couldn't wash the area. I reeked something sinful. I don't understand how people tolerated each other in the Middle Ages in cities. That must be why they were always killing each other. The foul, fetid stink was unbelievable. Can you imagine the trash on the street? We are truly lucky to live in the modern era of human history.

How long will this be the case? Maybe the cheap wash at the barbershop would be better.

Hopefully only until Sept. 9th. I see someone affiliated with my dr/surgeon that day. I thought about going to see my hairdresser, but I didn't want to drive that far, and I felt like I could conquer it myself. Prior to this, I usually wash my hair 3 times a week.

We're going to see Shellac tonight. Seattle is the first stop on their tour, and Steve says they haven't rehearsed in months and that the potential for disaster is high. Should be fun!
I just looked at what kind of band they are, and there are several descriptions, and one of them is "math rock." I then had to look up math rock. I have seen you talk about Steve Albini before.

@Eephus
wow

It's only round 15

Oh my! Thank you! Also, to input players, must we draft a K and D/ST? Or can we select positional players?
at this point I don't think it would be fair to those that did draft a K or D/ST (I haven't) to make it unnecessary to draft those positions.

We've done it that way for years. I'm making sure that the software still allows it. It's not unfair at all. I was only clarifying the rule because Draft Dominator had an issue with it.

I'd personally throw out my pick if it came down to it, and I also don't care about rule or pick, but we obviously had other people planning on doing so because of precedent. Perhaps next year we can state that you can draft/not draft players until we're done with everything. But if we had to clarify every draft rule, that would have been sort of a long, involved process at the outset.

I always thought that most leagues' default was drafting players and then doing a drop/add unless the league is set up with the software not to allow it. I've looked at FBG recently, and they've always given that caveat during draft advice. If you don't see a kicker or defense you want in the last round, and it's allowed, draft a player.

People have a bit of notice now.

There is precedent you don't have to draft every position.

It will be FAAB, so the people who don't will need to spend FAAB or waiver priority or wait out everyone else so I don't think there's much/any advantage gained.

My two money leagues don’t have add/drops before the start of Week 1, and I know of other leagues where that is the case. Since there are leagues that do both, perhaps this is one of those things that should be clarified beforehand.

I don’t really care how we handle it, though, as this is the last 2 rounds of a free league.

I know it's the trendy thing to not draft K and DST but I think it's a less viable strategy in a 16 team league than a 10 or 12er. We've been throwing position player darts for a while now. A top defense and kicker will have more value than two more RB/WR flyers, if only because the K and DST will remain on your roster until their bye weeks vs. a late-round rookie or deep sleeper who'll likely be dropped in the first two weeks of the season.

I'm old (school) enough to have played in a league that had fixed roster requirements for the entire season i.e. you had to draft and maintain two kickers all year.
