Summerpalooza V -- Playoffs Over -- Eephus Is Now Two-Time Summerpalooza Champion (1 Viewer)

I lost Teddy Bridgewater one play into the game.

I don't...I don't know what to say. I've scored a total of twenty points from the QB position this year. That's four points a game.

That can't be.

FF has come full circle. Or something.

Almost 1/3 of the way through the season, if you don't have LJ (Rock in ShiningPath says "Thanks")/Allen/Hurts/MAYBE Mahomes.....you have no chance.

We start QBs who play in a league that is specifically designed to produce as many points from the passing game as possible. How can something like this even happen?

A broken ankle in one, a coach who wouldn't let the QB throw in another, a pulled QB in another, a concussed QB who never returned from the first play in the last one.

And there you have it.

My QBs have lasted twice. That accounted for a paltry sixteen of those twenty or so points. They averaged eight per start in the games they lasted.

Really crazy bad luck and bad quarterbacking.

My partner and I could win a "worst sit/start decisions" competition. For instance, Yahoo gave us an "F" last week, when we lost solely on the basis of our QB decision. :lmao: But somehow it looks like we'll be 3-2 anyway.

I saw a great Earth, Wind, and Fire cover band Friday night in Durham. They were a lot of fun. I saw Rissi Palmer and Chatham County Line on Saturday night in Raleigh, and they both were great too. It was a bummer though when one of my best friends told me that her and her husband are moving back to California in a couple of years.

As for football, I was missing two guys (they were later found in the Persian Palace in the masseuse room) and still scored a hundred points. Argh. And I still would have lost. Watch those effers from Katmankoo. They'll accommodate you right, but they mean business.

Music fans: my friend Nora's first solo album in 18 years came out a few days ago. This is a great article about it, and about the work she's been doing in the interim, winning a Grammy with Mavis Staples, recording/touring with Neko Case, The Decemberists, Wilco, etc. It was Nora's work with Andrew Bird in the 90s that led to his smoking pot on my roofdeck on NYE 1999, among other times. :lmao:

Anyway, despite my not loving female voices generally, Nora's is special. I like the songs "Sore" and "Grace" best so far. She sounds like Emmylou on "Grace."

She credits the Fruit Bats with some of her inspiration on this! I wish notifications worked, but I'll try to get @shuke in here with one anyway. He turned me onto the Fruit Bats, so I'll come full circle turning him onto her.

The Persian Palace masseuse staff know how to make the guests purr.

I'll give it a spin, thanks.

My week began with Nyheim Hines getting knocked out on the first series of the Thursday night game and somehow ended with 169 points.

1-"nice"

It seems both my QBs have the same bye week coming up this week.

Anyone want to trade their backup for Tannehill? Willing to take a lesser QB in the exchange.

I'd trade you either Dalton or Cooper Rush and then trade Tanny back to you after week 7 if you like.

Thanks but that sounds illegal in most leagues - I'm ok with a straight up trade. I will say I think I have a better offer already though than those 2.

You may be right, didn't think about that but I've never done something like that before. Sometimes I'm just naïve. :lmao:

I saw his name on the Land of Confusion site. That was all it took.

Understandable. I was re-reading our Desert Island Alphabet draft we did in 2017 last night. John Madden's Lunchbox ran it. I miss wikkid. He was in good form that draft. Not bagging too much on the new stuff, and just being amiable. He did his "I quit" schtick at the beginning, but he was totally down. He drafted some interesting albums. Radiohead's OK Computer, among others that I'm now forgetting and kicking myself that I forgot.
