I actually wish there was a version on the soundtrack that didn't have them singing and just explored the music and melody more, it's a beautiful piece of music. But yeah if you don't like La La Land, that's cool.
I enjoyed the movie. As singers, though, they're great actors.

I agree. I am a little torn on that part of La La Land. I get that they were leaning into the idea of them not being professional singers- give it the feel of real people and not Ariana Grande and Josh Groban with the perfect massive voices. But also it's a Hollywood musical and meant to be enjoyed so mayeb the singing should have been good? I wonder if they considered dubbing their voices?

I found a way to add more volatility to my team, if it's possible

8.11 Jauan Jennings, WR, SF

AFI - Silver and Cold

@Ilov80s

I don't know if it's true in football but supposedly you need to take on more risk in building a fantasy baseball roster when you're playing in a larger league :shrug:

How was the show?
Yeah I think it makes sense to have some risk here. You're going to need to have things break right to win.

Show was great. Crowd was younger than I expected, I guess The Black Parade is cool with the kids again. There were a lot of teenagers singing every word to every song and the stadium (Rogers Centre) was full.

My niece asked if I “seriously just G Noted” her a bunch of years back. I was like, “What’s that?”

Lol

Yeah, they know.

Huh? I somehow get the sense you’re dead serious. Talk about burying a story. I mean, I get that we do not punish the child for the sins of the father in both our real and media lives, but that seems like something somebody who hangs out on a football message board for many of his waking hours might have been privy to. Like, one time and it probably would have stuck with me.

I remember seeing a pregame piece on this once. Sounds like CJ had a pretty tough childhood, the family didn't have much. CJ had his mom, faith and football though and he it seems like he's taken those things very seriously in life.

Yeah, I guess if you miss the initial wave of reporting then it becomes a question of how many times do you expect them to euthanize that pet type of thing. You can’t talk about it repeatedly in good conscience because the repetition alone is enough to make the reporting bad faith, I guess.

Yeah I do appreciate that. Do you remember the one draft, might have been the COVID one where it seemed like every player drafted got a piece attached to it about whatever the most tragic thing that ever happened to them was? It was awful. "grandma died 2 days ago", "spent 3 years homeless", "dad has terminal cancer" like come on this is supposed to the biggest day in this young person's life and you have to focus on how their mom is a drug addict?

I didn’t know it until I did a quick Wiki search on C.J. Was surprised to read it but I guess hasn’t been a story since he was initially drafted.

No. Dear God no I missed that.

9.2. Chris Godwin, WR, Bucs

I’ll again go for the upside and hope he returns healthy soon.

His legal first name is “Rod.” I’ll skip the Stewart and go for some earlier Tyrannosaurus Rex for a “Rod” connection.

Ugh that’s who I was thinking about (along with one other player that I’ll take). At least you made my decision easy. Looking for a song then I’ll pick.

9.03 Rhamondre Stevenson, RB Patriots

Going on a mini Patriots run for myself on this turn. I think Stevenson will still have a decent role on the team, especially around the goal line. That’s what I’m telling myself at least.

Lots of solid song choices to pick from, but this one is too perfect: (sweet picture too)

Ram On by Paul McCartney

Thank you. I was trying to avoid adding another Patriot.

9.04 Ray Davis RB BUF
Song: Big Sky -- The Kinks

Written and sung by Ray Davies.

@Ilov80s up.

but the theme song is too good to pass up.
This is how we do sometimes.

The final tiebreaker between Davis and the others I was considering was that I could take a Kinks song.
Yeah I had what was likely a better player with a very easy movie connections set-up but the score from that movie is just so-so. At this point in the draft, the song matters a lot since we're picking at scraps.

I’ve been helping to input the player info on the google sheet, but have been too lazy to put in all the songs. Make sure to add those for your players.
