Adonai Mitchell - WR - Colts because Amari Cooper retired

Kaiser Chiefs - "Retirement"
I didn't see that.. Why did he even come back??

Nobody really knows but people are speculating that he went to practice and had nothing left to give. I'm personally speculating it's because he was worse than and really slow compared to the kid he was supposed to mentor, Dont'e Thornton, who is 6'5" and trots a 4.3 something 40.

Yeah, I'd quit also.

Doesn’t surprise me either way. Cooper didn’t look good last year. Nobody wanted to sign him or he didn’t really what to be in camp this year. That’s one of the easiest lessons imo, when a player is fading like that they don’t bounce back.

He got old really fast. Had that 200+ yard game at the end of 2023 and then totally fell off the cliff.

Yeah, I saw your comment about Waller and couldn't have agreed more. He done, regardless of whether he wants to be or not. It's a bit sad. I mean, you can tell. I was very surprised some dude in our dynasty league wasted a bunch of FAAB dollars on him. I didn't think he'd ever get on the field and if he did that it would be a disaster.

Yep, won a title and a ton of money because of that performance. I was in real bad shape that round of the playoffs before he had his epic game. His whole career he was like that, very very boom or bust. He boomed one last beautiful time and that was it.

Yep, playing football as a full grown adult is an insane thing to do. You can't be half in, you can't just walk away and come back whenever you want.

I was hoping to draft Marcedes Lewis just for the song possibilities, but looks like the Bears sent him to a nursing home in the offseason.

A legend like Lewis deserved a better sendoff. He lasted three years longer than anyone in his draft class.
One of only two players over the age of 40 to catch a TD pass in NFL history - Jerry Rice being the other.

Up until today, I though Adonai Mitchell was named Adonal like former Warriors big man Adonal Foyle.

My man Adonal! His sponsor "mother" nearly got me in a bunch of trouble because she was the Women's Studies director where I went to school and happened to be a rather illiberal and perpetually tendentious feminist who got heated because one day I leaned out of my car window and told the girl I was hooking up with to shake it a bit and that seriously offended her (she was apparently walking by). I had to actually go to the disciplinary area of campus safety and we all had to file reports about it. It was definitely stunning and Orwellian in every sense. The girl and I really couldn't believe it was happening, and she just looked at Persondle (her name was Mandle but Paula Poundstone had visited campus and made a crack about it and it stuck like the finest epoxy) and we all filled out our perspectival sides of the story and then nothing happened (amazingly).

I mean, looking back it explains a metric ****-ton about a bunch of things I'd later seriously think about, but yeah, Adonal. Memories.

I think that if passing TDs were four points a pop that Jalen's rushing touchdown would make more of a difference. But he wouldn't have been there when I drafted. LOL.

Oh my. This got out of control really quickly.

That does give Hurts a boost but he is elite in any format. He's just so consistent because of that rushing production.

Yeah, I wanted to kick myself when I realized we'd changed the rules. It seemed like such an obvious pick and I couldn't believe he had lasted. Serendipity!

Whoops.

I have no idea how his performance will really go. He's facing a tough schedule. I've never been a huge believer or fan, but part of that has to do with how I feel about the Eagles. Part of it has to do with some evidence that he's not going to lead them with his arm. We shall see. It's ironic I have to cheer for him to be effective throwing the football in voluminous ways. Heh.

I think he’s a killer. Certainly doesn’t have a great arm but his football awareness, leadership and mentality might be the best in football. I loved when the media asked him about if he’s excited to get his SB ring and he was like no I’ve already moved on.

ETA: Sounds better than Cris Collinsworth

Think when I was five, I would have answered Alvin and the Chipmunks or something.
This was legitimately a big favorite of ours in elementary school:

I thought Brady did it? Maybe he has the second-most receiving yards after 40 or something
