Russ giving respect to Fields in the post game interview… Grown man Leader vibes
No hate on Russ. He says the right things. Good win for the Steelers.

I still think he’s washed.
He underthrew a few, 2 that were actually caught by Pickens (TD and the one where it bounced off the DBs back). He also bounced that potential TD to Pickens rolling left.

But his touch and trajectory on those intermediate throws is 10x's better than Fields. He also kept a few plays alive with his feet that were important.

Steelers don't need prime Russ, they need what they got tonight, score some points and don't turn it over. Defense and ST will take care of the rest.

I fear he is too, but...weirder things have happened, I guess.

As I mentioned up thread, I'm not a Russ hater. I've been a peripheral fan most of his career (Dude helped put a bunch of money in my pocket during his first couple of years in the league). I didn't despise when the Steelers picked him up for chump, but I didn't love it either. I thought they were dreaming on catching lightning in a bottle for a year hopefully, and not much more. Same with the Fields trade; didn't love it, didn't hate it, assumed they were throwing as many darts as they could and hoping for the best.

It may well still play out that Russ doesn't have much left. It may well turn out that Fields never develops touch and is nothing more than a plus athlete and a middling QB. In less than a year, maybe the Steelers don't have a single reliable QB worth rostering. Those are all still possible outcomes.

Regardless, this was about 180 degrees from the performance I expected out of Wilson tonight. I thought the Steelers OL would get him murdered and he'd have happy feet/multiple turnovers. The OL did okay, and the few times guys got into Russ's bubble he managed to not make the bonehead play. Bad Giants team coming in next week, could be another decent performance. Maybe they do catch some lightning for a bit?

Really wish they'd have used both the QBs though. A goal line package with Fields in there, even at the same time as Russ, just makes too much sense.

How people can check in to remind you the Jets offense looks antiquated after throwing up fifteen this half on this particular defense is so funny. It lets you know who is just hating on things to hate on things.

How stupid of people.
I don't know what you meant here.

Jets DST scored dead last this week. Behind teams like NE, Car, Ten, Atl. He'll even NO had 8 more points in my league than they did.

Jets suck. I'm sure Saleh is laughing his *** off after the check clears each week.

Russ was cooking
Mik Tomlin is a genius
Jets starting to figure out their offense...run first
Now their defense is going south

Whats GM/Headcoach/qb Rodgers' move this week?

IDK but I’m guessing it will be dramatic
He’ll say, “it’s clear we need a change at QB!” and then lay down a towel, drop to his knees, and commit seppuku in front of the entire team?
thats dark
You said dramatic!

It doesn’t get more dramatic than ritual suicide.

Also, a very honorable end to his Jets tenure. Certainly moreso than any Jets QB in recent memory. :oldunsure:
