Was watching some highlights of the Super Bowl and before the final free kick, Flacco turns to the guys on the sideline and says "If he breaks it, run out there and tackle him." Seems a brilliant strategy. Obviously the player that entered the field would be ejected but what would happen if he tackled the returner at, say, the 35 yard line and time expired? They can't award a TD. Re-kick? Odds are the guy's not going to break another one.What happens?

There's a rule on the books that whenever a team commits a "patently unfair act", the officials can penalize however they see fit, up to and including awarding a touchdown.

I know it's happened in college. Don't know about the pros. But awarding a TD is an option in the pros as well.
