Super Bowl LVI - Bengals vs Rams - Discussion & GAME Thread (2 Viewers)

yuck, felt like a crappy Super Bowl because of the Rams drive. just feel gross like we got robbed of an actual game. Don't know how the Rams can feel good about that

Congrats to Rams fans, and major props to mcvay. He out coached Taylor and that was the difference.

Honestly, this Rams team probably wasn't a top-5 team this season, but mcvay (and some lucky breaks, especially against SF) carried them.

**** vermiel just went into the HOF, but Sean mcvay is the best coach the Rams have ever had.

QBs who were overall #1 draft picks and won the Super Bowl:

Terry Bradshaw (1970) – Won Super Bowl IX, X, XIII, XIV

Jim Plunkett (1971) – Won Super Bowl XV, XVIII

John Elway (1983) – Won Super Bowl XXXII, XXXIII

Troy Aikman (1989) – Won Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII, XXX

Drew Bledsoe (1993) – Won Super Bowl XXXVI (backup)

Peyton Manning (1998) – Won Super Bowl XLI, 50

David Carr (2002) – Won Super Bowl XLVI (backup)

Eli Manning (2004) – Won Super Bowl XLII, XLVI
One more for the list.

Really really hope Donald doesn't retire. In my opinion, he's another year or two at this level, of being the best defensive player in NFL history(better than deion, LT, lewis, anybody) and maybe 3-4 from being the Jerry Rice (the goat in my opinion) of defense.

I hate the refs too involved at the end but the Bengals were holding like crazy on the Rams last drive.

sorry Richie and Shawn, Rest In Peace my friends.

Curious how many other teams follow suit with trading away their future picks and bringing in rental players for a ring.
This happens a lot in other sports but the NFL has mostly resisted this strategy.

Good for Stafford.

Some fans should maybe just watch Madden 98 video game replays instead of real football. Game ends in a 4th down stand, and people are disappointed. Ha

Yeah, I think the average fan got a little spoiled with all these comebacks in the playoffs.  It was nice to actually see some defense under 2 minutes.

Well, the game is over. I mean, nothing wrong with Netflix, but don’t act like you are a martyr. 🤣
I usually watch the ceremonies and I have been a Stafford fan for years but for a game with so few flags to end that way just not great.   Maybe those were the first close calls all game... that's the only way it makes sense for a close call to be made late in a game in those situations. I had no money or rooting interest except i hate kroenke so this isn't really sour grapes, but this ending hurt the NFL.

I think it was a pretty clear helmet to helmet hit on Kupp
OK, I’ll take your word for it. I only saw it bang-bang and it looked ticky tack.

I thought the refs did a good job most of the game staying out of the way. So, that ending seemed really jarringly out of place and intrusive. Could be I’m overreacting.
