Surprise drops to the waiver wire (1 Viewer)

Kind of a buy low thread as well, but who do you see falling to waivers that took you by surprise?

I just saw Deangelo Williams, Fred Taylor and Todd Heap go to waivers in my main local league.

In that same league, and a dynasty league I'm in the Chargers DST was just dropped.

I think it's early to give up on these guys. Williams and Taylor will be involved in the running game pretty heavily. They may not do much with it, but the chance is there, especially if injury to the other main back arises. Heap is always injured, but has been elite in the past. I'm not sure he'll regain that status, but you never know. Chargers are in trouble this year, but should still have some value as they play the Chiefs and Raiders twice each.

Ricky Williams and Chargers D stuck out to me. I actually traded SD for BUF straight up when I found out Merriman and Brady were done. Got the saints too for the DTBC but not sure they will come around.

Smaller leagues are more interesting this way.....a few of those mentioned above, but also try

Coles

Berrian

Heap

Hass

Olsen

Cotchery (?)

Harrison (?)

8 of the 10 owners in our league were seriously affected by Hurricane Ike --- none of them has power yet, and probably won't this week. So, I had to close the Waiver Wire this week to be fair to those guys who 1) don't have internet access, and 2) Fantasy Football is the furthest things from their minds right now.

I'm almost embarrased to admit this but someone (same person) picked up Devery Henderson and Ronald Curry while dropping first Dwayne Bowe, then Colston. If you can see my signature you can see where they went. I dropped Ginn and Coles. So, L. Coles is still a free agent in my league...

:lmao: Good call, Commish.

An owner dropped Bobby Engram prior to week 2 games. I picked him up and dropped Steve Smith (NYG) for him.

With all the devastation to the Seahawks WRs, I figured Engram would be golden upon return aftr their week 5 bye.

For what its worth, he dropped Engram to pick up Logan Payne. OUCH!

In my 12 team/14 player roster league, I just dropped Maroney for Sproles. Maroney is already getting injured and is in a three headed monster RBBC so I decided to go with Sproles' upside.

I also dropped Ray Rice for Slaton last week once word started to come out that Slaton was going to start v Balt, and McGahee (who I already have on my roster) is getting closer to returning.

I don't understand the Colston thing. Seriously.

We had the following suprises:

Cowboys D

Wes Welker

Patrick Crayton

16 team league, start 1/2/3/1/1/1, with 5 man bench and roster limits (max 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 5 WRs).

Fred Taylor and Ted Ginn were dropped this week.

Antonio Bryant, Deion Branch, and Kevin Curtis were already out there.

I am considering put in a claim for Taylor. (I *really* need RB help.)

Someone dropped Johnathan Stewart in our 10-team league after Week 1. I about plotzed. Had to drop Fred Taylor myself to pick up Stewart, but did it in a heartbeat.

Now I'm just PRAYING the Colston owner will have a brain fart as well. I need the WR help for the second half.

Chris Chambers was dropped prior to the week 2 games for Antwaan Randle El. I have no interest in picking him up, but he'll probably be an upgrade to somebody's WR corps in our league this week.

I just dropped Rice to pick up Pierre Thomas this week.

Engram was dropped in our league last night. I'm waffling on dropping L. Coles for either Engram or Bryant Johnson, who has yet to be picked up. Probably leaning toward grabbing Engram and stashing him for two weeks (if he makes it that far down the WW list).

Carson Palmer.

Trying to figure out if this move will equal dropping Moss 2 years ago, and he is just ahead of the curve here.

My dynasty league has a "waiting list" of people wanting to enter. This has become our "rookie" league - when openings are available in the dynasty, we choose from the people who've been there the longest with the tie breaker being most successful.

Someone just dropped Braylon Edwards last Saturday - BEFORE the debacle on Sunday.

Needless to say, if I have my way, that owner will be on the waiting list a while longer.

Week 2 WW - I dropped D Stallworth for P Rivers, who had been dropped for Warner.

This week - I dropped Fargas for Scheffler, who had been dropped for the 49ers D.

It's like taking candy from a baby!!! And these guys can't figure out how I've been taking their money for all of these years! :fishing:

Reggie Brown WR PHI wasn't drafted, and is still on the WW in a 14 team redraft.

I want to grab him as a WR5, but visions of him pulling up grasping the hamstring in the pre-season and riding the cart into the locker room won't go away. That, and he's consistently a lock for 50 and 5tds.

PHI's WR situation will be very interesting when Curtis and Brown are ready to play. Especially considering how good McNabb is looking.

Colston was dropped for V Jackson. I used my number 7 waiver priority and snatched him up. Why no one else did is beyond me.

Engram before week 1 and K. Curtis before week 2.already got Engram. Hopeing to get Curtis this week to stash for later this year.D. Sproles also got droped b-4 week 2.

I'm seeing Chris Perry on our WW and am tempted to pick him up. But I'm also seeing Michael Bush, Darren Sproles, Reggie Brown, Koren Robinson....

Darren McFadden was just dropped yesterday for JT O'Sullivan.

The guy could use some qb help but he kept

JaMarcus Russell

McAllister

Gaffney

I'm hoping to pick him up during the next WW window on Saturday.

12 team/15 man roster/3-player keeper league.

Fred Taylor and Edgerrin James dropped last night.

I've got the #1 waiver priority next week and will be picking up one of them since my RBs are a little weak.

Just dropped DeAngelo Williams and Dallas Clark for Darren Sproles and John Carlson. Kept TE Anthony Fasano.

Probably shoulda cut Fasano and hung on to Clark a little longer. But I am kind of thinking it would be nice for Clark to be someone else's problem.

If Edwards continues to suck then maybe that owner wouldn't want YOU in HIS league.
