surround sound with wireless rear speakers? (1 Viewer)

Have the green light on upgrading my TV and surround sound...moving from a 55 inch to 65 or 70 inch...not sure what yet. Also thinking a surround system with wireless rear speakers. House is not wired for surround sound and wires running to the back of the room are not an option for the wife. Any suggestions? Recommendations? Probably only looking at $2000 total to spend on both if even that...doesn't have to be the best of anything...juat a good mid-level setup.

How hard is it to wire a room? Roughly how much to have someone do it?

Jesus Christ - you edited that mess??

Highly recommend Sonos... Yes expensive, but you can grab an awesome TV on Black Friday for $700ish

Start with the playbar and two play 3s ($1300 total)... You can add on later. You can also add speakers to other rooms. The entire system can be controlled via app and play separate things through separate speakers. No wires.

Denon Heos is now their main competitor. I hear great reviews, but I havent heard this one in person.

If looking for wireless sound, anything beyond these two (as of right now) are the wrong choice.

Well if you want to go wired it's not terribly difficult.

You can drill a hole up in the attic, run wire and drop it down. You basically need to drill a hole in the top of the wall where the receiver is and either a small hole in the sheet rock or a wiring plate if you want to go that much.

me I have a small hole at the baseboard. Drop wire down wall. Hooked up to receiver.

wire runs across through my basement then up into the other wall. My speakers are wall mounted to i just have a small hole behind the speaker.

Anyway you'd run down both walls and across in the attic. Assuming your walls are clear of pipes etc

eta: just giving you idea what is needed to wire.
