Survivor Season 48 -David was just joking with his season long death stares! (7 Viewers)

I thought Kamilla made a huge mistake telling Kyle she wouldn't put him on the jury before the final 4 challenge? She should have waited. If she won and was making the choice she could tell him then. If she lost, she should have been trying to use her leverage as his partner to sit beside him and put Joe vs Eva in the fire challenge.

This season was full of questionable moves, even by the top people. I still don’t understand Kamilla caring so much that she OR Kyle would be in the final 3.

As soon as she told Kyle that she sealed her fate because all of the other three would make her make fire. She said dozens of times we have to get rid of Joe but never did as well.

It really felt like that final 4 didn’t actually care if they won $1M as long as their number 1 got it. So bizarre and I don’t recall other seasons have so few moves made. Even Shauheen wasn’t a big deal in the end because both pairs made it.

This show is a master class in editing. When you take a holistic view of this season, it was pretty stale. But every show, every week, I'm on the edge of my seat for something.

If this show doesn't win every editing Emmy award, I'd like to hear the opposing case.

Before they reveal the winner, Kamilla should get the cash for helping Kyle win during final tribal council
It was honestly shocking how little Kyle said. He didn’t mention fooling Shauheen, Thomas and Joe. He didn’t mention how much he worked against David and Mary to keep Kamilla. He only mentioned they worked together and no one knew and they got Shauheen out. I was worried he didn’t say enough about his game play. I’m assuming the jury knew about the stuff he didn’t mentioned. I’m also still shocked that no one mentioned how Joe didn’t even give his buddy a chance to know what Kamilla/Kyle said.

At least the game play came out a bit but it was still frustrating at times that the game play was so bad. So many, we have to get out Joe stuff followed by regret that they should have done it before or Kamilla realizing the morning after that she can’t win against Kyle after she missed a chance to take him out. Even with Shauheen, there were so few actual moves. It’s like talking about all kinds of upsets only to turn in a chalk bracket.
I think we only see 10% of what was said. I thought the same thing.

It’s hard to tell because they all answered each question, but yeah, we were thinking Kyle might have blown it because he only appeared to tell the one event and also mentioned Kamilla and him. The Thomas vote out was huge as was keeping Kamilla while David got voted out.

The funniest part was that Kyle’s best moves were fooling the purple tribe guys who honestly were just plain morons regardless of what Shauheen thought of himself. So many simple moves to guarantee they stay and Kyle or Kamilla goes home but the purple tribe guys brains didn’t work.

Kyle played as well as you can for new-era Survivor and for this cast in particular that included a bunch of people who gave stinkeye to strategy talk.

Big moves are entertaining for us viewers, but the people who make them tend to get voted out quickly thereafter thanks to "tall poppy syndrome". The best way to get what you want and stay in the game is to make small moves. Kyle and Kamilla were able to do so by incepting ideas that would lead others to make decisions that weren't in their best interest. And nobody ever caught on because Kyle was a prominent member of the majority alliance and everyone in it trusted him. The edit depicted a fascinating contrast between Chrissy, who railed against the majority alliance and whined that no one was making moves or building a resume but was unable to persuade anyone to play in that style, and Kyle and Kamilla who never complained about the majority alliance but subtly undermined it.

Kyle is one of the best winners of post-Heroes vs. Villains Survivor, as would Kamilla have been had she been able to pull it off.

It looked pretty obvious that Kamilla was throwing the fire making challenge. She didn't want to be in the final three with Kyle because she thought that they would split their votes. And she wanted to lobby the jury for him to make sure he won. Then when Jeff asked what would have happened if Kamilla was in the final three, they seemed to all agree that she wins easily. Did she make a huge mistake?

I was surprised by the Camilla love if she had been final 3. I thought Kyle was the better of the two. Editing I guess.
Well, Cedrick doesn’t count. Heck I was almost surprised he didn’t change his vote when Jeff asked him why he voted for Joe. It’s a very strong wanting to be right so it’s not surprising to see Mary and Star also switch when asked.

Kyle was absolutely the better player. No chance she’s able to pull the moves he did to save her if she was in the alliance with Joe and Eva instead of him.

Everyone did well in the final tribal - no one hemmed and hawed their way through it.

Glad Kyle won. Best of the season through editing. Pretty much the only moves of the season was when he/Kamilla were involved. Well spoken enough to be the podcast player perspective next year.

Eva was hoping for the sympathy and luck of the advantages votes. No one ever tried to flush the idol - tells you something.
Joe wanted the challenge beast and best supporting actor votes. Nice guy and can see how he made Fire Chief.
Neither of those 2 did much in terms of moves, just rode the popularity wave. Nice duo though.

Kamilla didn't have much editing her way, probably could have used more. Gotta like she went out during fire failure to end her story. Gotta hate that she's striking flint from 6-8 inches away - why's it not working? Sparks only fly so far.

David was so happy to get to the spot where he can speak. Producers have the jury appear angry or stoic until they can speak. Likely going to get some online faux anger at the toxic masculinity milk drinking angle comment.

The season likely goes down as mostly unmemorable with few moves, fake secondary tribal nominees, and a winner that wasn't overly charismatic or odd in any way.
(Now go watch Aussie Survivor this season for the opposite - lots of action of all types)

Well said. If you go into final tribal with a bitter jury - you have no shot at turning them around on "but it was strategy" or "I had to make big moves" talk.

The Kyle / Camilla thing was a perfect storm, as Kyle was able to tell her all of the things going on at the cool kids table while Camilla was able to feed him all of the things from the nerd/outsider table. They also understood / didn't get "butt hurt" when they weren't picked by the other for reward. This will definitely be tried again as a strategy, but it'll take the just the right people to pull it off.

The look on Joe / Eva's faces when it started dawning on them that they'd been duped with the Shauhin vote was priceless.
